21- Read Between the Lines, on the 2001 album AALIYAH
This song got played out when it first came out for me but in the last few years regained that lost ground, there is a very Destiny Child sound to this song, from the beat to the whole makeup of the song however the lyrics are not as childish, they are fun and if this beat dont make you get up and get down then you just dont have any rhythm darling, i love how crazy and all over the place this beat is.

COMING UP NEXT, a powerful and moving song from Aaliyah, and then the first song inside the top 20 will be a old school groove.

I love "I Don't Wanna" and "Read Between The Lines". I thought IDW was a Destiny's Child track back in the day.

20- I REFUSE, ON THE 2001 AALIYAH LP
This song is powerful right from the intro you feel the emotion it packs, it grips your soul like alot of her songs. This song brings out deep and personal issues within me, i know she sang it for a past lover but it could really be towards any family member or friend, dont we all just want to tell someone i REFUSE to be ignored, refuse to be controlled, refuse to be treated with a iron grip, refuse to be molded, refuse to be not allowed to be who i want to be :'(...one of my favorite Aaliyah traits she always seems to be singing to you on a personal tip.

19- THROW YOUR HANDS UP, ON THE 1994 LP AGE AINT NOTHING BUT A NUMBER
If your a fan of 90's RnB and Hip-hop then you must love this FUNKY throwback to the glory day of urban music, Aaliyah rides that beat better than a rapper can spit it!!!! This is the kind of song you would want played at summertime bbq because everyone will be in a good mood after this track.

18- YOU GOT NERVE, ON THE 2001 AALIYAH LP
This song has attitude and swagger to tha max and Aaliyah aint messing around , love the hard edgy beat and the whole personality of this song, when you need a little boost in swagger i suggest you turn this one on, her music hardly seems dated even decades later she has that timeless feel to me.

17- I'M SO INTO YOU, ON THE 1994 AGE AINT NOTHING BUT A NUMBER LP
Not sure why this wasnt a single it is one of the most catchy songs on the debut album, as always with this woman it puts me in a good mood and gets me boppin, another summery feel type of song that fits really well on her vast and diverse resume.

Love the list so far! For the poll I had to go with Aaliyah, that album is just perfection to me. It's easily in my top ten favorite albums of all time, maybe even top five. One in a Million is also amazing, of course. Unfortunately I never was really able to get into her debut beyond the singles, although I've tried multiple times.
I'm thinking #16 might be "I Care 4 U"?

#15- TRY AGAIN, ON THE 2000 ROMEO MUST DIE SOUNDTRACK
THIS SONG IS A FAN FAVORITE AS WELL AS PEOPLE WHO DONT FOLLOW HER CAREER, IT WAS GRAMMY NOMINATED AND HIT #1 ON THE CHARTS, IT WAS AALIYAH MOMENT WHEN SHE WAS REALLY NOTICED OUTSIDE OF THE RNB AND HIP-HOP COMMUNITY IN A HUGE SCALE, IT FUN ITS UPTEMPO AND IT IS A GREAT SONG, BUT I DO FEEL IMO, IT WAS SLIGHTLY OVERRATED IN REGARDS TO HER FULL BODY OF WORK.

#14- I MISS YOU, ON THE 2002 I CARE 4 U LP, ORIGINALLY RECORDED IN 2000.
SAD YET BEAUTIFUL TRACK, AALIYAH WE ALL MISS YOU :'(, THIS SONG WAS SUNG BEAUTIFULLY, THE LYRICS ARE TOUCHING AND THE MELODY STICKS WITH YOU FOR DAYZ, I WISH SHE WAS STILL WITH US TO GIVE US GEMS LIKE THIS, THE GAME NEEDS IT. AALIYAH ON 3 ALBUMS AND A FEW SOUNDTRACKS GAVE US MORE THAN SOME SINGERS 10 DEEP.

#12- BACK IN ONE PIECE, ON THE 2000 ROMEO MUST DIE SOUNDTRACK LP
THE BEAT GOES HARD AND WHAT A COMBO AALIYAH AND DMX! THIS IS A URBAN BANGER AT ITS BEST, AALIYAH WAS A THUG PRINCESS IN THIS AND I ADORE THE VIDEO. AALIYAH WAS SO VERSATILE IT WAS SCARY SHE COULD ANYTHING AND CAME ACROSS AS AUTHENTIC AND IT WAS ALWAYS ABOUT THE ART NOT THE CHARTS WITH HER.

#11- ROCK THE BOAT, ON HER 2001 AALIYAH LP
OKAY SO PART OF ME WISHES SHE NEVER MADE THIS VIDEO AND MAYBE AALIYAH WOULD STILL BE WITH US TODAY, BUT THIS VIDEO WAS A BEAUTIFUL WORK OF IMAGERY AND SHE LOOKED STUNNING, THE SONG IS SMOOTH LIKE SILK AND AALIYAH VOICE SHINES BRIGHT IN THIS, THIS SONG WILL FOREVER HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN HEART FOR OBVIOUS REASON, SHE DIED IN BRINGING US THIS VIDEO SO LETS ALL ENJOY IT AND PUT OUR LIGHTERS UP FOR THE PRINCESS OF MUSIC.

I literally cry everytime I see the Rock the Boat video :'( It's like her own personal homage to what an angel is. The last shot is breathtaking.

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO LOVED THIS UNTIL IT GOT A SHOUTOUT!!! BMCA THIS TRACK IS 4 U

#9- ARE YOU THAT SOMEBODY, ON THE 1998 DR DOLITTLE SOUNDTRACK
THIS IS ONE OF HER BIGGEST AND MOST WELL KNOWN SONGS, ITS ALSO A SONG THAT MISS CiCi LOVES AS WELL ;), THE BEAT WAS OUT OF CONTROL IN THAT TIME PERIOD, THE BACKGROUND NOISES BRILLIANT LOL AND AALIYAH REALLY BREAKS IT DOWN. IT WAS A FUN UPTEMPO AND ONE OF HER BEST SONGS, SHE COULD DANCE, SHE COULD SING, SHE KEPT IT REAL AND SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL, A RARE TALENT.

#6- 4 PAGE LETTER, ON THE 1996 ONE IN A MILLION LP
YES I LOVE THIS ALBUM AS YOU CAN TELL, THIS SONG IS IMO UNDERRATED AND THE VIDEO WAS GREAT, BUT HER FANS ARE REALLY AWARE OF THIS SONG. I LOVE THE LAID BACK VIBE AND DREAMY TONE THIS SONG SETS. NOBODY DOES SLOW TEMPO SONGS BETTER THAN AALIYAH.

#5- BACK AND FORTH, ON THE 1994 AGE AINT NOTHING BUT A NUMBER LP
THIS SONG WAS THE SONG THAT WHEN I HEARD IT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH AALIYAH, IT IS A OLD SCHOOL VIBE THAT STILL SOUNDS GREAT, SO SMOOTH AND FULL OF SWAGGER, PERFECTLY DESCRIBES THE TRUE SOUND OF AALIYAH, A GREAT HIP-HOP/R&B SONG, THAT STILL GETS PLAYED NUMEROUS TIMES IN MY PLAYLIST

#4-IF YOUR GIRL ONLY KNEW, ON THE 1996 ONE IN A MILLION LP
THIS SONG NEEDS NO EXPLANATION ON WHY IT IS RANKED SO HIGH, IT IS A FLAW FREE TRACK. I ADORE THE WHOLE VIBE AND ATTITUDE ON DISPLAY AND THE BEAT IS FINGER SNAPPIN AT ITS FINEST, AALIYAH PUT THEM CHEATING FOOLS ON NOTICE AND GIVES THE GIRLS A REALITY CHECK!, I PLAYED THIS OUT BACK IN THA DAY AND IF I DID THIS RANKING YEARS AGO IT WOULD HAVE BEEN #1.
