I guess MCA pulled the plug on "What A Shame". Too bad because that song was one of the better ones out right now.
This isn't nearly as good IMO. Not sure why she can't catch a break at radio. "Forgive" is poppier than either of these songs, but did far better. ???

Is this a ballad? Judging from the title, I guess it's another "good times!" type of songs. I liked "What A Shame," I even heard it on the radio once.

MCA pull the plug on a song? NEVER! LOL. I hope Rebecca has another breakthrough song. In my opinion, if MCA had released something like "Life Had Other Plans For Me" after "Forgive" she would be on her way to stardom. *sigh*

I did not hear 'What a Shame' but just heard "INAV."... "Me & my husband, we need a wife!" I love it as well, and agree that since I do, it will probably peak somewhere in the mid-50s!

It's without a bullet at #58 right now.

She has her bullet back as of today's Mediabase chart, but is still at # 58.

I haven't heard this one yet...I wasn't that killed by What a Shame, but I do LOVE this artist. She's the real deal in my book. I'm still terribly heartbroken that MCA didn't reach for one of the many excellent songs off of the Forgive album...Life Had Other Plans, Didn't Look Like Alcohol, Dancin' in God's Country, My Job to Fall, Jesus and Bartenders, etc., etc. BIG SIGGGHHHHH.
The world is so unfair...

I finally hear "I Need A Vacation." It's nice, but I don't like it as much as "What a Shame."

This song better get moving. If this flops too, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see MCA drop her.

It is MCA's own fault.

Yes, sadly, it IS MCA's own fault. Rebecca is a world class artist, but if the record company is going to continually fumble the ball, she'll never shine the way she should.
These days there are just too many politics involved within record companies. There have been something like three different people running MCA during Rebecca's career, and each new chief comes in and declares that everything the last chief did should be trashed. It's not fair to use artists as chess pieces.
Is it any wonder why they're all going out of business?

Is MCA part of BMG or Sony? It is getting hard to figure out who owns each label.

I think they all own each other.

Neither. MCA is part of Universal/Vivendi. But, BMG and Sony will merge their music divisions in January.

I'm afraid that this song is already over. It's been out three weeks and hasn't even charted on the R&R chart yet. Only 3 adds this week. Wow...two dead singles before the album was even released. That is totally depressing me...she has real talent.
