This week's a bit faster than I was anticipating. Quite a bit of moving around with multiple songs climbing 10+ spots. On the other end of the spectrum, Gotye is STILL at #40 (5 weeks, if you consider the skip weeks as being frozen).

Yay, Ke$ha! @ "Oath" as an extra and "Adorn" as a breakout. "Oath" has been purged and "Adorn" is falling.

They have a tendency to do that on AT40 these days. Songs that just fell off the chart a few weeks ago are played as extras a few weeks after they fall off the chart.
'Rest Of My Life" debuting at #30, really? That's a pretty premature debut according the AT40 standards we're all accustomed to, lol.
On another note, if we count the frozen weeks, "Titanium" has spent 6 weeks in a row at #33. In fact, "Without You" did almost the same thing, spending 6 weeks in a row at #34 in April-May 2012.

"The Man That Can't Be Moved", by the Script, also got stuck at #34 for 6 weeks in Aug-Sept 2010 (and, as with "Without You", that doesn't include any "frozen" weeks.) The aptly-named song then peaked at #33. For extras, good to see Of Monsters and Men and the Ready Set as likely to enter soon. Of previously charted extras, there's an odd contrast in length of time on the chart, with "Oath" which was only on for four weeks (two of which were "frozen") chosen along with good ol' "Dynamite", in case anyone was missing it a year after finishing its 72 week run. No 2 for 1 this week, apparently; "Till the World Ends" could have been paired with "Scream and Shout", or, since the 2F1 is usually put in the top 10, most likely saved for a few weeks (though of course Britney has plenty of other previous hits to choose from.)

Good to see "Move Along" as an extra. It wasn't played last year.

While introducing "Diamonds" at #2, Ryan mentioned that Rihanna is in 3rd and 1st place for most consecutive weeks on the countdown for a female artist: 125 and 148 weeks. (I'm assuming that Katy Perry holds second place, since last week she'd be on the countdown for 2 1/2 straight years.)

Ryan got the Rihanna stat wrong, her unbroken run started the weekend of 26-27 Sep 2009 when Run This Town debuted... she's been on every single week since then for a total of 173 weeks and counting.

They are counting from March 2010 when Rude Boy debuted but in the previous weeks Russian Roulette and Hard charted, which Rihanna was the lead on. If only counting as lead her stretch is 166 weeks.

YES! Ke$ha debuts at #39! Overall, it's a good chart again this week. Still a good amount of movement.

I bet they're counting all the songs she was on, not just as lead. The only possible problem I see here is that Hard debuted on 1/9/10 with Russian Roulette dropping off that week. So as we discussed recently, should RR be counted for the 3 (due to top of the decade and top 100 of '09) frozen weeks? I hope everyone likes Rihanna music. I sure do. Quite a remarkable ongoing run that spans (at least parts) of 5 years! There are still 11 songs greater than 20 weeks on clogging up the bottom 20. They should play an extra/breakout/241 in the 07/06 segment every week to make it longer. You'd think they would have thought of that. Isn't Nicki Minaj featured on Girl on Fire? I'm confused.

Isn't Nicki Minaj featured on Girl on Fire? I'm confused. The 'main version' of the song has just Alicia, while the version with Nicki is the 'inferno mix'. The former was used for the video, while the latter was put on the album. I believe most pop stations are playing the latter.
