This guy sounds like Brett Eldredge.
Like the song though....nothing special, but I could see it being a hit

I agree that this isn't too bad, but he just kind of lacks an "it" factor for me. There's been some great debuts put out lately, I could see this one getting lost in the mix.

Looks like Sidewalk has this at radio now. It's up on AllAccess. I actually like this a lot. I do hear the similarities between him and Brett Eldredge but I think Dylan holds his own. His voice has more to it than some major stars and some of the other guys who are trying to break out now. He's just heading out on his radio tour but I think it's a smart idea to have this available to radio if they want to give it some test spins. If his radio tour goes well, it could make a dent come June when it actually goes for adds.

Lord strike me down for defending Curb, but they did at least have a plan. They've spent the last several months working the song to secondary radio - it's charted on the indicator chart for a while now. It's a pretty pointless and utterly unsuccessful plan, but then again it wouldn't be Curb otherwise.

Boy it sucks that these artist are stuck on the Curb imprint. Believe or not this label can actually find talent unkile others. But just can't buy a hit anymore from somebody not named Lee Brice. This song is really good. Certainly a slow grower for me. It's refreshing to hear songs that aren't slugged down with over production. Producers trying to put their stamp on these songs to make people notice them. We have ears, and we don't need 45 million different things going on to make us enjoy them anymore. "Makin This Boy Go Crazy" has an awesome feel to it. Subpar lyrics, but I think Dylan is a good vocalist and this song suits his voice spot on. Not in my absolute favorites right now but very enjoyable when I hear it. I also like "Hey Bully" from Morgan Frazier. Looks like Sidewalk is putting out some good music. I hope Dylan can manage a top 50 apperance out of this. Maybe some more exposure and he'll stand a shot at getting a minor hit.

I only see one Country Aircheck Today email from this week in my inbox and it's for 1/3. I know ads that are no longer relevant end up in Country Aircheck Today sometimes, but that's usually on Mondays (usually a "power up for #1" ad for a song that just hit #1 that weekend), so I'm not sure if the ad for this song in the 1/3 email means it is still being promoted or not, but if Curb and Sidewalk are indeed still pushing this, I have to say... that's ridiculous. The single has been out since June and took until the very end of the year to chart, then made it to #56 before dropping off again. Obviously, radio is never going to warm up to it if they haven't by now. This seems almost laughable and I'd think Curb might lose what little respect it still had from radio programmers with silly chart runs like this one. Then again, I guess the song does have decent sales considering it's getting almost no airplay, and after this single I don't know how likely it is that Dylan Scott will ever get any airplay at all again, so I'm not sure what to make of this. It just seems like a hopeless effort to me.

This song keeps getting better and better for me. To be honest I thought it was incredibly generic when I first heard it, then I did not listen to it again till late October. Then the song hit me as catchy. But over the past three months, the vocals, and production while not perfect, are in the ballpark. The lack of in depth lyrics are usually a pet peeve of mine, as well as cliched lyrics. So I have to really buy into the vocals, melody, and production for me to overlook that. "Makin This Boy Go Crazy" should have been handled differently. Curb/Sidewalk went to secondary markets first, then tried to slowly work this into the major markets, and hoped for a slow grower of a single. I think it's gotten to the point of Curb having next to no confidence for their artists. That plan was not going to work at all. They should have just thrown this song into the water head first and seen what happened. This song is a perfect radio single. It's not like a case of it being a newer female artist with a strong subject like Morgan Frazier with "Hey Bully", or a artist that radio is just about done with in Rodney Atkins. He's a good looking, young, strong voiced, singer/songwriter, male with a catchy radio friendly single. I have little doubt this would have been a much higher peak if he was on another label...Any label.
And that "Oh, Girl You Make Me Feel Like Woah" line gets stuck in my head and never leaves till I go to bed.

I haven't heard this song since last summer. I liked it back then and I like it now as well. Nothing really groundbreaking or that new sounding, but it's melodically a very pleasant song. Very radio friendly and should have technically did better.

Curb is STILL pushing this song...even though it is almost a year since we started a thread for it.
Another fun fact...did you know he is only 22? I thought he was at least 30

After a 3rd consecutive bullet-less week, this one finally went recurrent at Billboard tonight, although Sidewalk still has an ad promoting this in the BCU, lol Will they push for a re-entry, and hope it'll only take another year to finally scratch their way into the top 50?

Oh I didn't realize this actually went recurrent. I thought it fell off (for like the 6th time ). Nope! I checked, and it didn't have a bullet on April 21 or on April 28, nor does it have one tonight. So, by rule, it's been removed to recurrent. It probably only lost a half dozen spins and maybe 30k in audience for the week, but it doesn't matter. Nothing against this song or Dylan, but I hope this convinces Sidewalk to just give it up already. It's pretty obvious that this one isn't going to be a hit, and so hopefully it won't try to re-claim a spot on the chart, now that it's given its spot up to another song.

This thread was started in February of 2013 and it's add date was last June.
The comical management of Curb/Sidewalk ceases to amaze me. It was pretty evident this wasn't going to do anything around Thanksgiving let alone Cinco De Mayo of 2014.

This song has been stuck in my head all month. He's playing a local show so I'm going to go check this guy out.
