Well, I mean "War On Love" is okay, I guess, but it's not in my top 1/2 of the album.

NUMBER 45."Electric Storm"Predators waiting, circling around; sky full of fireworks burn without sound Here we have another track from her second album Mistaken Identity. It's a dark, dramatic track like much of the album with some of my favorite lyrics on the album, including the quote above and well, basically the whole song. I think it's about a difficult relationship in general, but I also remember reading that it could be about love suffering due to her lack of privacy, particularly from the quoted lyric above, which sounds quite plausible to me – and also makes me love that line even more. However, as great as the lyrics and her vocals are, the instrumental on this song is really the highlight for me. I found a fanmade instrumental on YouTube and it just sounds so good on its own! It's dramatic, intense, full of more instruments than my untrained ears can pick out, and just a perfect piece of music. brb adding Queen of Instrumentals to her résumé.

That's not a fanmade instrumental it's the official one. IDK where it came from, was the audio file ripped from a DVD?

Generally reproductions just *sound* fake to me even if they're well-done you can pick up on things that don't sound exactly like the original. And this instrumental wasn't released properly, IDK if the instrumental was used on a DVD as like a piece of background music for a menu or some special feature, and it was ripped from that.
You've got Delta's DVD's don't you? Is 'Electric Storm' used as background music anywhere?

You've got Delta's DVD's don't you? Nope. #flopstan Thanks for the info though! I've come across plenty of fake-sounding instrumentals before but I thought it was also possible to make real-sounding unofficial ones. idk.

NUMBER 44."Fever"I'm coming down with something, over and over again I'm guessing you probably weren't expecting to see this one on here! If you've even heard of it, that is. "Fever" was an iTunes exclusive b-side to her 2007 hit "Believe Again". It's not that great from an artistic perspective, but it's really catchy with some quirky lyrics, which just make it a fun, solid pop song for me. The production and acoustic guitar on here are pretty great too, and, similarly to "Beautiful Madness" at #50, "Fever" just feels so sunny and happy, and I adore songs with that vibe. Thankfully Delta has plenty! There's also something of an instrumental solo beginning at 2:06 which elevates the track even higher for me. Just a great song overall! Additionally, I'll throw in another shout-out here, for "Fortune and Love" which was the main b-side to "Believe Again" (it was on all editions of the single as opposed to just the iTunes release). "Fortune and Love" is a piano ballad, and you know how much I love those, with great lyrics and vocals as always! Definitely worth listening to as well.

I haven't heard either of these and "Fever" is great! "Fortune And Love" is good too, but I much prefer "Fever"! Delta has some of the best productions on her songs!

Good, but idk, sounds rather dated. Love when she says "fever," though.

NUMBER 43."Knocked Out"Don't underestimate me, be careful when you hate me Here's another track from Child of the Universe. It wasn't a favorite of mine when I first listened to the album and I was completely opposed to the possiblity of it being a single, but I really love it now. Great lyrics, great melody, great acoustic guitar, great sunny vibe, etc. It would have made a great summer single (even though it probably would have flopped, but a flop single would have been better than no single!). She said in the track-by-track videos for the album that she wrote the song while feeling 'knocked out' from The Voice last year. Didn't know it was so stressful, but apparently it is. I imagine her standards for that are quite low though considering her total enthusiasm in promoting the album! Part of me was hoping the song would have a more significant meaning, but I still love it. As with most of the tracks on the album, an acoustic version was also recorded for Child of the Universe - The Acoustic Sessions. I like it, but the song was already pretty acoustic in original form that this version is, well, pretty useless. Oh, and the quoted lyric beneath the picture above sounds like a far more eloquent version of something jback would say about Beyoncé.

NUMBER 42."I Don't Care"Girl you must be crazy! Delta's debut single! Released in November 2001 just after she turned 17, the song received decent promo including solid radio exposure and a Toys R Us ad (lol), but it still flopped hard, peaking at #64 in Australia and spending ten weeks in the top 100. To this date it's still her lowest peaking single by far. It was also never released on an album and is not on iTunes, making the CD single very rare nowadays. As for the song itself, it's a pretty typical early 00's teen pop song. Lyrics about rebelling to be with her boyfriend, a catchy melody, upbeat production, and so on. It was actually a cover of a song by Angela Via (don't ask me who that is; I've got no clue), and possibly the only cover in her discography. I think it's one of only three or four singles that she didn't at least co-write, too, which makes sense since I think she was much, much more mature than these lyrics portrayed. I still love the song though; while the production isn't that great (it sounds like a poor attempt to recreate Max Martin), it's fun and catchy, and a nice addition to her discography. However I am glad it flopped, as I imagine if the single did better she'd have been forced to record more songs in this vein that would have made her a disposable pop star with little longevity rather than a household name like Innocent Eyes did. And her cancer ordeal would have probably killed that career anyway, making her just as memorable as Holly Valance. Not a great thought! Also to comment on the video, Delta looks good, but the guy playing her boyfriend looks at least 30 and not even slightly attractive? Not sure what happened there! Additionally, "I Don't Care" was reviewed by Censor! I don't even know. I love this song more than anybody probably should. It is an absolute musical masterpiece. I'm more than happy with the type of music she has made her career out of, but I have a soft spot for this type of pop music, too. It is too bad that she went with down her new, piano-driven path so quickly, because I would have loved for some more songs in this vein. Good song. I would also love to point out that she referenced Romeo and Juliet before Taylor made that cool, so.

I love "Knocked Out," but, like the survivor game showed, I like "The Speed of Life" much more haha. Anyway, I don't really know why "I Don't Care" flopped because it's actually a really good song, and it was exactly what radio should have been searching for at that time.

Anyway, I don't really know why "I Don't Care" flopped because it's actually a really good song, and it was exactly what radio should have been searching for at that time. I think Australia had mostly moved on from that teen pop sound by late 2001. I mean, at that point Britney was having moderate success with "I'm A Slave 4 U" and had abandoned her old sound, 'N Sync had changed their sound too, the Backstreet Boys were basically over (apart from the surprise hit "Incomplete" in 2005), etc. I think Delta was just a bit late to the party with "I Don't Care". And it probably didn't help that "I Don't Care" wasn't that strong and wasn't done by a relevant producer. Just my opinion though, of course! Thanks for commenting. :) I'll post #41 in a moment.

NUMBER 41."The Analyst"Her world's a photograph that gets dissected bit by bit Lodged between "Out of the Blue" and the title track at the beginning of the Mistaken Identity album, "The Analyst" is another dark pop track, a bit similar to "Electric Storm" at #45. It's a very lyrical track about over-analyzing things, which is a very odd topic for a song, but she made it work! I really love her word usage, especially in the chorus lines "silent space, the culprit, the catalyst" and "digging around in the dirt, she's a slave to the dirt". I don't think the verses are very strong melodically, but the chorus more than makes up for that. One of the catchiest choruses on the album, I'd say. And the production is also really solid!

With "The Analyst," I have to agree that the production is a highlight, and the lyrics are very cool especially considering that the topic of the song is not used very often, but I personally don't really find the chorus to be as captivating as I expected or hoped.

NUMBER 40."Will You Fall for Me"Am I wrong to think that something could happen? And here is the first of the 11 songs from Innocent Eyes. It's the closing track on the album and a simple, emotional piano ballad that was completely self-written and produced. And I really can't stress how beautiful it is. Just like the title, the entire song is a question: that she has fallen for someone and she's wondering if they'll fall for her too. Not a request or a demand; just a question. And she made a pretty damn flawless song out of that. To add some more adjectives into the mix, it's fragile, it's vulnerable, it's romantic, it's meaningful, it's relatable, etc. And this was all done almost a decade before Adele made it cool. Now you're probably wondering why this is only #40 after reading that! While I love and completely appreciate the raw emotion in this song, that's not something I usually look for in songs, and it wasn't enough to beat out other songs with bigger productions, catchier hooks and things like that. #40 is still a huge accomplishment though and there are many more songs in this vein to come, so don't be disappointed!

NUMBER 40."Will You Fall for Me" Shocked it is included; however, I like this! How can she have made such good songs when so young?

NUMBER 39."Uncovered"A new day, a secret, a fire in me and a lover The first of three Child of the Universe era b-sides! This was from the "Sitting on Top of the World" physical single. It starts off as a piano ballad, and grows into a full-on uptempo chorus with a full backing and a heavy beat, and ends with a layered chorus before going back into piano style. It's just anthemic, really, and because of that feel I think it would have made a good single even though in actuality it was just a b-side. I also really love the way the chorus was written, particularly with the quoted lyric above. Unconnected short phrases that fit together to paint a picture, basically. The melody in the pre-chorus is also amazing. Just an excellent track overall!
