There was no straight-up jaw-dropper last night, but Jack White came closest with his dirty, cacophonous mess of a performance, which offered a needed pump of adrenaline to a generally ho-hum affair. Miguel brought swag and vocal prowess to match, but unfortunately spent too little time on the spotlight. Rihanna looked stunning on "Stay" and sounded almost as good, but still lacked the gravity and isolation that would elevate this kind of performance from "very good" to "chilling." Mavis Staples croaking through "The Weight" was quite amusing as well, and the Marley tribute was enjoyable enough. Overall, a decent, if rather plain affair.
Oh, I did NOT appreciate Kelly oversinging and butchering the lyrics (in three different spots!) to "Tennessee Waltz."

JT's is the one I remember the most after the fact but Kelly sounded good and so did Rihanna....

I wish I didn't only have to pick one, then I could vote for Kelly, Rihanna and Miguel. But if I have to pick I'll go with Clarkson.

The easiet Grammys to watch in forever. Not one preformance was bad imo.
However I say the two Idols took the house down vocally.
Kelly was the best of course, such an astounding vocal, breath taking really. She was the frontrunner last night and really shined.
Carrie looked hot, sound good, and had awesome animations with her preformance.
The Rock bands were amazing. The Black Keys are a class act and stole the show for the rock category imo. I also really liked the Elton John and others preformance.
I thought Taylor's preformance was weird and horrible, until she made fun of One Direction. It brought the preformance up three notches. Also, vocally pretty good for her.
Frank Ocean did not sing as good as the record, but his preform was nice and I loved the animation.
Many more as well. As a said an awesome lineup and list of preformances.
P.S. Rihanna sang on tune, looked nice, and did a great job.

... and that was the last time anyone saw Ed Sheeran. I wasn't crazy about any of these performances? Rihanna has definitely improved (remember SNL? ) but she didn't captivate me in the least. I also commend Frank Ocean who, without fail, turned around and disappeared on cue. I'll give my vote to Miguel's unfortunately truncated remix of "Adorn" (though I guess the less we see of Wizaster, the better). Melissa Etheridge barking along to "Ho Hey" came a close second though!

Kelly M5/Alicia Keyes Carrie Bruno (but only during Locked out of Heaven)
In that order are the ones that by far stood out to me the most! I kinda wish Kelly would've actually done one of her own songs, but she was vocally by far best of the night.

It's a toss between Kelly Clarkson and The Black Keys, but the latter got my vote here.

There were so many I loved. Kelly, The Black Keys, Bruno/Sting, Rihanna/Mikky, Carrie, and Alicia/Maroon 5.

Literally the verb I used irl while watching with friends last night. Just watched it and couldn't stop cracking up, she looked so serious. I couldn't find a gif but I found a video:

Kelly doesn't oversing.

Black Keys, Mumford & Sons, Justin, (most of) the Bob Marley tribute, and Fun.
Obviously a diva with a big voice just doesn't connect with me honestly

Alicia and Maroon 5 Levon Helm Tribute Locked Out of Heaven + Marley tribute Kelly Clarkson Jack White
Overall a stellar night of performances. The only real bummer is that the most disappointing performances came from two of my favorites, Taylor Swift and Frank Ocean. Both could've seriously done with a better song choice.

I'm not normally a fan of Jack White, but I enjoyed how he strangled that Telecaster.
