Kyle, cool the subjectivity a bit--just because not everyone loved your favorite as much as other performers doesn't discredit their lists. She was good, but so were many others.

I think Kelly's and Carrie's placement on this list completely discredit the entire thing. How anyone could rank them outside the top 3 is beyond me. I said I liked everybody, but because I liked some other performances more than the Idol alumni, my list is discredited? Cool. Anyway, I don't care a lot about the technical aspects of vocals (hitting this note or that note) and am more interested in the material and just the overall impression left by the performance. I'm sure the order would change wildly if you asked a vocal coach to rank each performer's technique, but I didn't think that was the question at hand. Kelly sounded awesome but got pushed down my list because I didn't care for the selection of "A Natural Woman" as the piece to use for a Carole King tribute. Carrie also sounded great, but the performances I listed above hers just happened to connect better with me, no doubt in part because I am less familiar with her material than most of the other performers'.

I was just kidding. Hence the My bad. I do think everyone was great too. There were a few 'boring' performances but overall, just about everyone was top notch.

Rihanna, actually. I wish there didn't exist a call/demand for pop stars to be stripped of their blood and ardor so that they might then earn merit. Common sense tells me a modest stage production requires much less effort andβto quote Phaedra Parks who performed alongside Jack White earlier tonightβ everybody knows standing in place could render a performance boring. Luckily, she pulls it off, slaves are freed, the despot is overthrown, etc., thanks to, dare I say it, a poised vocal and the kind of glamour that's designed to drive at least a few industries. Did I forget to mention star power? And I mean total star power, like that which radiates from Rihanna and everything she touches is what helps sustain this bulls**t dinosaur institution. As for my RUNNER-UP, that would be Miguel! Wiz might have been dead weight but this kid's got verve. And soul. That drop to your knees move? The writhing? Gets me every time. Now if only Miguel had 2/3 of Destiny's Conspiracy ordering the crowd stand for doing so much more with so much less.

I voted for Kelly Clarkson.
I would have liked to also vote for Carrie, Adam/Alicia, Bruno Mars, and Fun., but you can only vote for 1 artist.
There were actually more really good ("A") performances this year than I remember seeing in previous years. It was a good year overall for the Grammy Awards.

The performances this year were pretty great on all ends. The only ones I could have personally done without were Tswift, that tribute with Elton John, and that horrid LL Cool J closing. The rest were ranked at least at the "B" level for me.

1. Carrie Underwood
I'm saying this not because i'm a fan, but because it's the truth. Carrie's BLOWN AWAY performance tonight was phenomenal. Everything was spot on. I love the new different arrangement of the song and Carrie killed the song. The TWO BLACK CADILLACS was also great, there's minor sharp notes but it's barely noticed.
This is absolutely one of her best performances ever.
2. Rihanna 3. Taylor Swift 4. Kelly CLarkson 5. Bruno 6. Miranda/Dierks 7. Justin

I agree. Maybe she made one too many awkward motions (I gatta be picky!), but I was absolutely captivated by her combination of steady vocals and dynamic stage presence. It's a shame I hate her so much. I can't say I was thrilled by anyone else to be honest. Kelly sounded nice but, I don't know, she doesn't quite do it for like she used to; and Miguel, well, I need time to have the image of him miming the placing of a condom on his penis in concert out of my mind before I look at him the same way again.

Probably Miguel, though I could've done without Wizβit wouldn't hurt if it were a little longer either. Rihanna's subdued performance was a good look on her as well, gorgeous. Kelly did fantastic as per usual, but the songs were a bore. Carrie was also on point as far as technicality goes.

Surprisingly, I think Maroon 5/Alicia Keys was my favorite performance. I felt like some of the others were ruined by poor sound (Miranda and Dierks especially -- I could barely hear them!)

I'm with the general consensus in picking Carrie, Kelly, and Rihanna.
Voted for Carrie because she's my gal, but they're all tied for first in my book. Each of the three did amazing jobs tonight.

Kelly Clarkson is the best IMO but since Rihanna really surprised me (in a good way) so I'll give my vote to her.

For me, the best was Rihanna. She kinda surprised everyone. I also liked Mumford & Sons. Carrie's Blown Away part was awesome, if it was only Blown Away she would've had the best performance.

Kelly was in a category all her own, vocally, but that's to be expected.
Next? Carrie, I guess, though I didn't like the new "Blown Away" so much. I don't like "Two Black Cadillacs" (the song), but she sung it really well.

Lots of strong performances here.
1. Kelly Clarkson 2. The Black Keys 3. Justin Timberlake 4. Rihanna 5. Miguel 6. Bruno Mars/Bob Marley tribute (Bruno solo would have been higher, he was excellent) 7. Lumineers 8. Carrie Underwood (TBC is such a bore and that dress thing was dumb, but her voice was on point) 9. Jack White 10. Mumford & Sons
Others were still pretty good, too. Taylor and Miranda are the ones I remember as the worst. Poor Taylor--girl could not find that key even with all that stage lighting until the chorus back track came in.
