Do you know what Jennifer's main problem is? She is not known for any of her original songs. She's had two albums, and only her real fans could name a song without thinking hard about it. When she performs at all of the major events, she is singing other artists' songs, not hears. She is an Official Events Singer. People think that Jennifer Hudson is a good singer, but they do not like her music. There is a serious disconnect there.Mostly due to the fact that she is constantly given subpar material minus a handful of tracks. Now that Jennifer will play a bigger role in crafting this album hopefully that will be the "connection" she needs to elevate her material.

So are her and David ever getting married? It's been at least 3 years of engagement, right?

^The film could not find a distributor. It may be released on DVD one of these days.

I thought she was pegged for a second Oscar for that role, though...

^People may have thought that she would receive an Oscar before the film was viewed by distributors, but the quality was too low to be picked up. The reviews when it screened were poor. www.ropeofsilicon.com/winnie-trailer/

Whatever happened to "Winnie"? I was so excited for that, did it get scrapped? T.D. Jakes and his company TDJ Enterprises/Film Bridge International jumped on board to executive produce and develop a stateside marketing and distribution strategy for Winnie but I have not read anything since then.

Confirmed as a judge for the thirteenth season of American Idol.
New song "Gone, Gone, Gone". I haven't seen anything in regards to whether this is a leftover track from one of her previous albums or a recently recorded song.

I think she's the perfect choice as a judge. It's only right to have one of the best singers from this generation on the show. Gone, Gone, Gone sounds like something she would've recorded before her record deal.

She confirmed on Twitter yesterday that the song is indeed old and her third album is halfway done.

She's working with RedOne.
Quote from him: "It’s not dance dance, but it’s soulful dance. It’s very ’70s kinda style."

I took it as being 70's disco in 2013. Similar to what's being played on Pop radio now.

I think her working with RedOne is a smart move. Her voice is too good just to continually be given material suited for Urban AC.

I am totally excited to hear her new album. I was shocked when I ended up loving "I Remember Me." It was much better than her debut.
Mary J. Blige recorded a song called BEAUTIFUL SCARS with Salaam Remi for her last album...it has been reworked into a duet with J. Hud and is supposed to be on Jennifer's upcoming album.

If she don't get some youth songs for this new album She basically needs more 'No One Gonna Love You's and 'Spotlight's and less 'Where You At's..

I'd take more Where You At's over Spotlight's.

I preferred her debut album, and I agree she needs more youthful songs.

I think "Spotlight" is her best song, but I Remember Me was a much better album than the first for me. I thought "Where You At" was better live though.

Winnie will finally be released to U.S. theaters on September 6th. I'm not expecting this to be a big box office hit but still hoping for the best.
