More movement this week than last; "Sweet Nothing" makes the biggest upward move after oddly slipping a few last week (it's gone 18-14-17-11). "Little Things" takes the biggest drop (10 notches), but 1D's followup comes on board.

Some strange placement of extras: 5 extras above #11 seems like a lot for in or next to the top 10, and "Give Me Your Hand" is placed just after the same spot from which it peaked and now falls off (those not listening too closely might think it's still on and moving up.)

And with 10 non-countdown extras I wonder if the actual countdown (just #40-#1) could fit into three hours without too much trimming of songs, especially if they cut most of the non-chart related talk?

ive been listening to Pop since 2002 and this is by far my least favorite era.. all these new songs debuting this year so far are just so disappointing! "Sweet Nothing" "Don't You Worry Child" and "Scream & Shout" all deserve the #1 spot cause there basically the only things keeping me around.. R.I.P Top 40 2002-2012 :(

No kidding. Two Breakouts in the final hour is a bit odd. I think they should have slotted one of those in, either, the second or third hour. It, also, seems unnecessary to play Calvin Harris as an Optional when he's also the Two For One. And, once again, the final segment is the top 3 instead of the top 2.

Actually, IMHO this is the best era for CHR/Top 40 music because it's where it is supposed to be. There's a great blend of alternative, pop-rock, R&B (a little less than before), hip hop, rock, folk, and dance. And no, Taylor Swift doesn't count as country. This format could use a couple more country crossover songs. Back in '02 the format IMHO was just unbalanced and too rhythmic leaning. So, yeah top 40 music is actually making a comeback and radio stations are embracing it.

I agree with JJ. I've been listening to pop music since 1994 and this is easily the best it has ever been because of the awesome blend of everything. Not everything does as well as I'd like or songs I don't care for do better than I think they should but otherwise, there are plenty of pleasant surprises. Long live pop 2010-2013 and beyond!

well i do agree with the Blend of genres but alot of the songs just dont connect with me like most of the songs even just a few months ago did! i respect everyones opinion though :)

I also think the music has gotten much better over the past 3-4 years. This week's show had lots of Oscars talk, and we got to hear 3 new songs.
While there hasn't been a jackpot lately, Alex Clare was 27 28 (29) last week and now
28 29 (30). Honorable mention goes to Maroon 5 with 10 09 (08).
Ryan said that Kesha turns 25 this coming week, but according to online sources she turns 26
on March 1. But AT 40 is never too good with their stats. I'm surprised that Die Young is still
on the chart in light of Newtown.

I'm glad that there were 3 new songs and more movement this week. Glad to see Ke$ha "Die Young" still on the chart for 20 weeks and not falling too fast anymore and at #22. Taylor holding down #1 for 3 weeks and counting!

I'm so hoping that "Hey Porsche" gets a debut this coming week! Such a catchy little tune! If it doesn't end up getting at least Top 20 ill be very sad.
