Usually when people whinge about the pronunciation thing, I roll my eyes. But on BGC I honestly cannot understand anything but a handful of words.

Why doesn't she face the audience when she performs?

"Big Girls Cry" is beautiful! :o By the way, the album has leaked. Seven tracks in and I love everything I've heard. LOVE her!

I was hyped for this, and usually I'm letdown, but this album is > us all.
Quick thoughts after my first listen:
1 - To me it's most like "Some People" but with amazing production
2 - There are quite a few ballads, but the album doesn't feel samey like a lot of the recent ballad-heavy releases
3 - Greg Kurstin is absolutely unmatched when it comes to indie pop albums. I almost put this in my first point, but a few times during the listen there are definite Tegan & Sara "Heartthrob" teas, especially the songs "Burn the Pages" and "Free the Animal." He's amazing at drawing out the individuality of an artist and giving a song just enough shine that it doesn't sound rehashed or generic.
4 - HOSTAGE!
5 - You will need a lyric book.

Why doesn't she face the audience when she performs? Because she doesn't like ugly people.

Why doesn't she face the audience when she performs? Sia loves singing and writing pop songs, but she doesn't want to be famous. She enjoys her current life where she can remain mostly anonymous in public.

She enjoys her current life where she can remain mostly anonymous in public. This would make more sense to me if this wasn't her first album and people didn't know what she looked like. I'm respectful of her prerogative to hide her face and image now, especially after her battle with substance abuse, but it's not like people can't purchase her previous albums or browse YouTube for tons of clips. I'd definitely know her if I saw her in public somewhere.

Why doesn't she face the audience when she performs? It's a creative and irreverent way of conciliating her talent to create pop music and her unwillingness to become a pop star à la Katy or Gaga.

C'mon I was just having a little fun. No disrespect to Sia. She's an amazing songwriter and talent. I actually heard her interview just a week or two ago that she did with Elvis Duran on Z100 and she's very interesting as well. And yes I am neverafan. That name comes with a very funny story to long to go into here but I see the name has a negative connotation so I changed it. I've been watching a lot of queer as folk lately so I changed it to QAF on a whim.

Other than Chandelier and Big Girls Cry, the only song I use is Free The Animal. I was really looking forward to this album but it sounded like an endless loop of the same song for the most part.

Hostage should be pushed to pop after Chandelier and then Fair Game after that

This album is incredible, one of the best pop releases this year. It's clear why she's a top songwriter in the industry today.

What a great album. I've been playing this hard on my late night runs. The vocals are top notch as expected, lots of empowering songs on the album.

I love me some Sia, but ya know she has enunciation issues when you look up lyrics and find no results. Guurrlll tighten that jaw....you can still have a unique voice and be discernible. Lmao

I think my new favorite part of this album is the production connecting Feel the Animal and Fire Meets Gasoline. They both use that stuttery synth, but in completely different ways that it's subtle, but still cohesive.
When she wins Album of the Year (a stan can dream), it will be two years in a row the winner didn't show their face.
