Not feeling this. The lyrics are very Memoirs and the melody/hook is none existent but her voice sounds amazing.

This is one of the most boring singles she's ever released. The melody in the verses is all over the place and the chorus has no hook. I don't see this doing much at all.

After my first listen: It's good (and beautiful as a piece), but not great. I prefer Almost Home. The production is weak, and it sounds dated. Her vocals are amazing, and I like the lyrics, but can't really see this taking off on radio or having mass appeal. I expected more. I hope I'm wrong.

There are some nice parts to it (especially from 2:32 on), but I agree that in the verses, there is some "rambling" and wordiness.

I really had to restrain myself at the end of this. Not trying to start tearing up on this bus but...wow. What conviction! Very proud of Mariah right now. I no longer care about her commercial success anymore if she can sing the holy fuck out of a song like this. A+. My girl has not disappointed me. Feel bad for her pop fans on Pulse tho.

Her vocals and lyrics are nice, but the song has no chorus whatsoever and is very messy overall structurally. For those who cry that they want 90's Mariah they certainly have that with this song. It is a nice song, but definitely doesn't make me interested in her album if it is full of messy song structuring like this song.

I'm a sucker for a Mimi ballad--always will be. But this following "Triumphant" and "#Beautiful" just kind of feels like she doesn't know what she's doing this time around. I can't believe they had such a big roll out for THIS.
I love when Mariah whips out her thesaurus to show she's an intelligent singer/songwriter, but this song is way too wordy, and the usage of the "big" words totally takes away from the piece of melody that the song already barely has.
I'll be singing along with this boring bullshit by the end of the week though.

I wish the production was more...full? I think the man who did most of her last Christmas album (Marc S) would've been great for this particular record. Other than that, I don't have anything else to say about it other than I wonder what this will look like live.
