All this video did is re-confirm how much I despise Jimmy Fallon. He is one of the corniest people I have ever seen on TV. Like, how did he even become famous?! Those parts where he was trying to snap and sing along had me I think its cute.

I liked that interview on Hot 97. At least she joked about the experience, cause i'm sure she can be a "satan" in some diva-ish ways. I think i'd be able to work with her and Minaj together.

That "skit" with Fallon was terrific and made me like the song even more. I love her and Fallon together. She definitely rambled in the interview, but that's Mariah.

I am just wondering what the intent with "TAOLG" is since we still don't have an add date for radio and haven't heard anything about a video. Is it just a teaser song for the album?
We know "Triumphant" was something Mariah wanted out, for whatever reason, and sort of ran with it even though the album wasn't even close to finished. "#Beautiful" was something everyone was loving, so they released it to take advantage of AI and an album date was set. We know Mariah didn't meet the deadline for that, so the album was delayed. But "#B" was certainly meant to be the lead single. "TAOLG" is now the unknown; it's clearly something JD and Mariah wanted released but the label did not (probably because they have already been burned and want a completed album before doing anything; that makes sense for them). We don't know if JD and Mariah intended "TAOLG" as a real single or just some sort of hype song. If it's the latter, cool, but then I think JD and Mariah could make that clear because ultimately I do think all of these start/stops could hurt her momentum in terms of the press, radio, and the public. People just don't know what to make of it all, and by the time a real single comes out it could be like the boy who cried wolf. But if the single is really strong, in the end hopefully that's all that would matter.

Anyone else get "Vanishing" vibes in the vocal style of the chorus? Especially the last chorus- reminds me of how the "Vanishing" belting.
jeng- TAOLG is a single, but it doesn't have to be a "full-blown" one, if you will.

I think she and Jimmy have a very similar type of humor. I also think he gets a kick out of her fans. Definitely a good chemistry there, but I also think Mariah is one of those people you either love her or hate her when it comes to media officials. I can see where someone like Mariah would drive an interviewer crazy because some of her interviews are like pulling teeth trying to get anything from her.

jeng- TAOLG is a single, but it doesn't have to be a "full-blown" one, if you will. I can agree with this, but what even makes a single? There isn't a ton to distinguish this from those random tracks artists release in the weeks leading up to an album release. I mean, are we now going to create a scale of 1 to 10 on how much of a single something is?

I knew I wasn't crazy. The more I listen to this, the more I hear 90's Mariah, early to mid 90's Mariah even. Vanishing teas, the production is really amazing and her voice is so strong. The public might shock you and love this.

Yes, Record- you not crazy. :) (I avoided using "teas," though ,as that's just not my style hehe)
jeng- those random tracks probably don't get the kind of hype that Mimi created for this particular single. As discussed in the past, there are different kinds of singles- radio-promoted singles, promotional singles that aren't promoted to radio, etc.

The Jimmy Fallon skit warms my soul.. It's hysterical. And it shines a light on Mariah as a warm and loving person of her fans.
She's just so happy lately and in a way has let her guard down by talking about her insecurity, her family and more than ever she's coming across as genuine and funny.
I love it.
Success isn't measured in chart positions or album sales, it's measured in how good you make others feel.

That Angie interview was terrific. Mariah was so honest and real about her insecurity, American Idol, and her marriage.
