This song is fantastic. If, for some reason, Gretchen Wilson doesn't end the streak for women at #1, Terri should. It's a funny, tongue in cheek song that shows off Terri's less serious side again, which is always good to see. It's the first single from her greatest hits, which should be out in June. www.allaccess.com/sounds/terrigir.ram

Thanks for the sound clip. Yup, this song is great. It'll do very well. I can listen to this song a lot more than Redneck Woman, which I'm already getting tired of.

I disagree. This song seems to bland to me. Maybe I will like it the more I hear it.

I like it, but not as good as her best, "A Little Gasoline."

LOVE this new song by Terri!
It's going to be another big hit for her. It's getting a lot of requests already at my station and it's not even *officially* released yet.
I'm not a big fan of Redneck Woman either and would be more than happy if "Girls Lie Too" hits #1 instead of that song.

TERRI CLARK Girls Lie Too Producer(s): Byron Gallimore Writer(s): C. Harrington, K. Lovelace, Publisher(s): EMI April Music/Little Cricket Music/Didn't Have to Be Music (ASCAP), Warner-Tamerlane Publishing, (BMI) Genre: COUNTRY Label/Catalog Number: Mercury MRNR-02517-2 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: May 08, 2004
Clark has reached that enviable stage in her career when she has amassed enough singles for a greatest-hits package. This new track is the first single from that forthcoming collection. A clever lyric combined with a spirited performance make this highly compatible with previous Clark hits like "Better Things to Do," "I Just Wanna Be Mad" and "I Want to Do It All." The song boasts a lively tempo that makes it great summer radio fare, and the lyric will make listeners chuckle. Clark brings a coy playfulness to the song; she also turns in an engaging performance. Mark another notch on this cowgirl's belt.—DEP

I don't have any of Terri's CDs but I will be adding this to my collection. She is one of those consistently good & likable artists who gets very little notice - much like Toby & Kenny Chesneyused to be!

I picked up the new GH CD, though I own all of her others. I agree that Terri is really overlooked - she's quietly had a nice string of hits.
"One Of The Guys" is a good song - typical Terri. It should be another hits if it's released. It may not be, since she is supposed to be having a new studio album out later this year.
I didn't know that "Unsung Hero" was also a single in the US - I knew it was released in Canada. The other Canadian singles not included are "Something In The Water" and "Empty".

I'm not a huge fan of her, but I think she has put out some great stuff. I think I like the singles from her How I Feel album best. I still don't care for "Girls Lie Too" at all though.

Congrats to Terri on the success of her "GH" cd.
It's the highest charting cd for her so far. Billboard has it at #4 on the country album charts and #14 on the Top 200.
62,000+ sold in it's first week.

Terri's Sunday night bullet is a whopping +638
She passed Keith Urban to claim this week's #2 spot. A glance at some of the stations playing Girls Lie Too the most shows many spins being dumped into the overnights. Hmmm... That sounds familiar. It looks like "somebody" at Terri's record label decided to make this song have a Reba-esque surge upward. Despite trailing Keith by over a million in audience reach, she's got almost 100 more spins.

GO TERRI ! I'd have no problem seeing "Girls Lie Too" at #1. She deserves it.

The version of Mediabase that I see shows this breakdown for Terri and Keith:
4 2 TERRI CLARK Girls Lie Too 2004 Mercury 4528 3850 678 40.864 2 3 KEITH URBAN Days Go By 2004 Capitol/Nashville 4288 4082 206 40.607
To me (at least on this version of the chart) it shows Terri actually a little ahead of Keith in audience. Who can explain the differences?

To me (at least on this version of the chart) it shows Terri actually a little ahead of Keith in audience. Who can explain the differences? My post was based on Sunday night's 9pm update. As of the early Monday morning 3am update, she now leads Keith in both spins and audience. Her audience numbers went from 39.5 million to 40.8 million in those six hours. In that same timespan, Keith's audience gain was only 15,000, and he actually lost 19 overall spins. Her bullet is now +678.

Looks like she will probably go #1 again. Good for her! I don't really care that much for the song, but like her as an artist.

I'm surprised that this is #1 this week. On Mediabase, Tim's still well ahead of her. I can see him spending 3 or 4 more weeks at #1 on R&R than on Billboard.

He already has 1 extra week on R&R because of Reba's interruption on Billboard, so he's up a week there regardless. And I could be wrong, but I think he may have taked #1 a week earlier on R&R than on Billboard.

You were comparing total number of weeks at #1 for the two charts. I got it now. All I had to was read what you said.

I updated my graphs today, and by the looks of things Terri' has hit a brick wall the last couple of days, while Tim's holding pretty steady at #1. His spins actually increased by 5 today , and his audience crept up by 53,000. Terri lost 10 spins, yet she gained 243,000 in audience. She trails Tim by 225 spins and 4.9 million impressions. She hasn't gotten closer than 210 spins behind Tim, so it's odd Billboard gave her a number one. By the way, I'll take this moment to mention I'm SICK of "Live Like You Were Dying". A great song, yeah... But geeze, it's time to put it out to pasture already. Enough! I don't wanna hear about a bull named Fu Man Chu anymore!

I congratulate Terri and Universal on their hard work and final push for this song. Not surprisingly, she hasn't received nearly the flack MCA and Reba did.
