I congratulate Terri and Universal on their hard work and final push for this song. Not surprisingly, she hasn't received nearly the flack MCA and Reba did. But that was +1000. I congratulate her, but I don't think the song is that good.

R&R gave #2 to Terri for this week, despite having NO bullet, and BOTH a smaller audience and fewer spins than Keith Urban. So how in the heck did that happen?
Tim remains #1 for one more week, despite not having a bullet for 31 consecutive days. I wonder if that's a record.

I'm not sure about that, but he's now had 10 weeks at #1, on top of that most-spins-in-a-week-record he set about 5-6 weeks ago, in spite of that LARGE reduction in panel size last October.
That 10 weeks at #1 broke Lonestar's 8-week record run at #1, set exactly five years ago with 'Amazed'.
Lonestar did wind up #1 for the year, but I'm not sure if Tim can catch 'Remember When' and do likewise.

The chorus: "Girls lie too We don't care how much money you make" doesn't sound like it goes together.

Keep in mind that the one week where Tin's single had over 5370 spins is flat-out mind-boggling, given the fact that R&R & BB both downsized their respective reporting panels at the request of the record companies last October.
Tim's 5370+spin week would have projected to a 7160 (or thereabouts) spin week for any of last years #1 singles, but last year's #1 single (19 Something) never crossed the 7,000 spin threshhold, as far as I can recall.
The fact that 'LLYWD' was averaging FORTY-EIGHT spins per station per week is just staggering, period; that's at least 10-14% higher than your typical #1 song. The fact that 'I Go Back' just missed the 5,000 spin-threshhold has to be acknowledged as well; it's the best performance of any of KCs singles in the past few years, and possibly his highest spin week ever, accounting for the reduced panel size.

Somehow, Mediabase put Terri Clark back on the chart a few minutes ago, after she had already fallen off as a recurrent song last night! :o Mediabase took almost two hours longer today to get the afternoon update out. Maybe there was some controversy or fuss about having Girls Lie Too go recurrent, which delayed the update?? As far as I can tell she met the requirements for going recurrent by not having a bullet for over 2 weeks. Her spin losses for the week were -28% as of Sunday. She's -980 spins (a loss of 34% for the last 7 days) as of today.
Normally one can trust the late Sunday evening Mediabase update as being the official R&R numbers for the week, but I'm so sure now.

I was thinking they took her off for the chart update to show her going recurrent, brought her back, and then will dump her later this week. I don't know, pissed me off tho.

Considering that three females figure to have singles finish in the year-end top twenty, and that Ms. Clark will have TWO of them, alongside Gretchen Wilson & Sara Evans, I'd say that 2004 has been a VERY good year for her.
Although no song by a female vocalist will make the year-end top 10, having four songs between # 11 & #20 isn't too shabby!!!

On the Mediabase chart to date, Gretchen's in the top 10 (#7), Reba's the next highest female at #16, and Terri's highest placement is #23 with "I Wanna Do It All". (Though IWDIA should be a little higher once December's airplay is factored in).

Gretchen has already fallen to #11 for the year; including spins from December, 'Watch The Wind Blow By', 'Little Moments', & 'There Goes My Life' have already passed 'Redneck Woman', and 'Live Like You Were Dying' will undoubtedly pass her next month.
I'd forgotten about Reba, so that will mean five songs by females will finish in the year-end top 20, but none in the top ten---Reba, Gretchen, both Terri Clark singles, and Sara Evans's 'Perfect'.
