This it the first single from Phil's upcoming, yet untitled CD. It's listed on Allaboutcountry.com, but they don't have a clip up yet. Phil puts out great stuff--definately looking forward to it :)

Great to hear from him, I "Phil Vassar" the album, I believe it self-titled. You know, the one with "Six Pack Summer" and "Just Another Day in Paradise"?

I finally heard this today, and I like it a lot. Much better than anything from the American Child CD. I hope that radio is willing to give him another chance, after his last album didn't perform as well as the debut. Based on this first single, the third album is going to be very good.

This song is pretty good. I have always enjoyed Phil's music though. It has a unique quality to it.

I like it a lot, but it sounds a lot like "Red Ragtop" by Tim McGraw.

I really like In a Real Love... as you can tell by my name I'm a Phil Vassar Phan!
Was wondering why you thought it sounded like Red Ragtop?
I know the first time I heard it I though of "There Goes My Life", but then I heard it again and I realized that "In a Real Love" is about a couple that gets married out of high school at 18 and four years later finds out that a child is on the way. And while it might be hard and times are tough, this is a real love and you get through it by going through it.
Your thoughts?

Wow - I love this song, but I never expected it to hit #1. But, on Mediabase today, Phil jumps from #4 to #1. If he can hold on a couple more days (I see no reason why he won't), he'll get his second #1 with this song. For me, this is right up there with Reba as a very surprising (but deservingly so) #1 this year.

I agree someguy. I never thought this song would hit #1 at all either, but I am very happy. Sara, Reba, and now Phil (hopefully and I don't see why not). I hope Jamie is there soon!

Most number one songs generate more buzz here than this one did. Nobody mentioned it here at all for over five months and then BOOM, suddenly it snuck up on us and got to #1. Congrats to Phil!

Phil is number one on Billboard this week with a +335 bullet, after 28 weeks on that chart.
This is his 2nd No. 1 song. His first was "Just Another Day in Paradise" back in Nov 2000.
