I bought the Blue County cd Friday and on first listen it is pretty good. Here is a song by song review.
1. Good Little Girls- I like this song. It was a good debut single for these guys.
2. That Summer Song- Could be a good single choice but with Rushlow releasing Sweet Summer Rain I doubt they will put it out right now.
3. That's Cool- This is the best song on the album in my opinion and should be released. It talks about growing up and getting your curfew extended then finding your wife and having kids. Great song.
4. Hollywood, California- A decent ballad about a girl that goes to find her dreams leaving her man behind then missing him and asking him to come out to Hollywood.
5. Sunday Driver- Not one of my favorites but it's okay. Talks about being behind a man who dosen't want to get his girl home to soon so he's driving slow.
6. What's Not To Love- A good rocker that would be a good release. Talks about a girl who has doubts and he tells her how he feels.
7. Sounds Like Home- A Lonestar type ballad about a man who is on the road and bugs his wife by calling her a lot to say he loves her.
8. Nothin' But Cowboy Boots- Talks about being dared to streak through campus in nothin but cowboy boots as well as other things. Okay song, nothing special.
9. Time Well Spent- Good song, maybe single material.
10 Ride On- Takls about abuse and children who wish they could get on a rocket ship away from their problems.
11. Losing at Loving- Boring.
Not written very well.
12. Walk On Water- This is the guys theme song (so they say). Says learn to walk on dry land before you walk on water. Decent song.
Overall a good cd, That's Cool is by far the best song on the album. I would give it a B+ on first listen. These guys should be able to find a spot in country music. It's a different sound kind of like The Warren Brothers but better.
