Anyone read anything about her?
I read in the middle of last year that she was picking songs still, but I haven't heard anything in a long time. I know she'd had some problems with MCA and I didn't know if maybe she was going to leave them.
I hope we get something new soon.

This was the last mention of a new studio album that I had read.
Trisha Talks About Next Album, Co-writing With Garth
Tall, trim and apparently in the best of spirits, Trisha Yearwood also spent some time with the media before joining Sara Evans to sing their tribute to McEntire. Yes, she has started on a new album, and yes, she and Garth Brooks have been writing songs together. “I’ve been in the studio [with producer Garth Fundis] just last week for a couple of days,” she reported. “We’re just kind of going in and taking our time. It’s been tougher [to find songs] this time than ever before. They’re coming, but it’s slow.” Besides finding songs she likes and believes in, Yearwood admitted to another problem in putting together the album. “The biggest challenge is not to over think it. … I’ve never been off the radio for this length of time.” On the matter of co-writing with Brooks, she said, “He and I have written some things -- but nothing yet so far that’s going to be on the record.” She’s also trying her hand with other writers. “I believe there’s potential there,” she said. “I think I have something to say. … If it’s not for this album, then maybe one down the road. … I don’t have a time frame [for the album]. It will probably be out next spring, if I’m lucky.”
Yearwood seemed more eager to praise McEntire than talk about herself. She said that in 1991, not long after her first single came out, she was invited to perform on the Country Music Association awards show. That evening, she was in a dressing room with several other performers, when she saw a floral arrangement with her name on it. Thinking it must be from her parents, she picked up the card and read, “Welcome to your first CMA. Reba.” “She’s a star,” Yearwood stressed, “I’m a chick singer.” She’s also a kidder. I’ve known her since she was an intern at MTM Records back in the late 1980s. When it came my time for a question, I started to ask, ‘Who are you co-writing with besides Garth?” But I got only “Who are you …” out before she chirped brightly, “I’m Trisha Yearwood.” (By the way, she’s writing with Leslie Satcher and may link up with Pat Alger.)
However, please take note that this was published nearly 10 months in July 2003. It's hard to find information on Trisha Yearwood. Her message board on CMT has been closed as well as one of her most reliable sites.

There's a note on her message board by the webmaster that more information about her new album will be announced in a few weeks. They posted a slide show of her in the studio on the news page. I'd post the message, but her board is down. Check out her news page at www.trishayearwood.com . The photos are great, and she's lost a lot of weight -- looks the best she has in years!

I'm looking forward to the release of her new album, as she's always been one of my favorites. I just hope that radio is willing to embrace her when she returns - she's only had one top 10 hit this decade ("I Would've Loved You Anyway") even though she's released 2 studio albums.

A little bit of Trisha news:
According to countrystars.com, the new album is almost done and MCA still plans on releasing it later this year. Also, she's working with Garth Fundis again, who produced everything from her debut up until Everybody Knows, and then co-produced Real Live Woman with Trisha. To me, that's excellent news.

Isn't Trisha's new album supposed to be released November 2nd? I would hope that it's been pushed back, since it's now a month and a half away and we've heard nothing about it. Too bad this new album is taking so long - it's been almost 4 years since we've had new music from her, so this better be worth the wait.

This is taking forever. Although with the way women were treated for the longest time by country radio, maybe it was smart for her to wait until the tides shifted, which they seem to have done now.

Yeah that's true, I never thought of that. I do think that radio would be more open to her now than they would've been say a year ago.

It depends on how good her music is. We shall see if MCA can capitalize on her talents this time around.

From CountryStars:
TRISHA'S ALBUM NEARS COMPLETION, YEARWOOD DUBS IT HER BEST YET After a year and a half in production, Trisha Yearwood's new studio album is nearing completion. "There's just a few things left to do," is the word from her camp who are hoping for an early 2005 release. The album will have some exciting guest appearances including the already leaked Ronnie Dunn appearance. Will Garth be among them? It's not absolutely confirmed, but, "Let's say it's very likely Garth Brooks will have a presence on the album," is the answer. TRISHA is reportedly in a great place personally and professionally. She's trimmed down and excited about the new album, calling it her best album yet.

I heard some Trisha news on the radio tonight. Garth Brooks will be producing her new album, which she began recording a year and a half ago. It should be released in very early 2005 (the DJ said mid-January, but I doubt that since we don't have a single yet).

Actually I heard it was Garth Fundis, Trisha's usual producer from her earlier material that is producing it. I heard that Garth Brooks would be a guest on a couple tracks, though.

This is from last year, but here is a track that may appear on the album...
JESSI ALEXANDER SINGS WITH TRISHA YEARWOOD
Just before leaving for Vegas last week, Jessi Alexander received a phone call from producer Garth Fundis. Trisha Yearwood was in the studio recording Jessi's song "Baby Don't You Let Go" and requested that she sing backup. The Columbia Nashville artist received the call at 4:00 pm and was in the studio at 5:00 pm to record for one of her heroes.

Trisha's single I believe impacts radio in Feb with an album to come out in either June/July.

Huh? That's a huge gap between first single and album!

Actually, that's normal. Look at how long LeAnn's singles been on the chart and her album doesn't come out until the 25th.
And look at Jamie O'Neal....her album doesnt come out until March and her single's been out for quite a while.
Quite a few months between single and album is the norm.

Normal for a Country artist, but a person who doesn't follow Country music as much as other genres will find it abnormal.

TRISHA TELLS REBA WHEN HER NEW SINGLE IS COMING OUT We revealed this week that Trisha Yearwood's new single would be released "very soon," with the new album to follow perhaps as soon as early summer. Turns out that "soon," is April.
Trisha called into Reba McEntire's big, live radio special Monday as a celebrity phone guest. Trisha revealed to Reba that the first single from her much anticipated new album will likely arrive at radio in the month of April.

TRISHA NERVOUS AND EXCITED ABOUT NEW MUSIC Trisha Yearwood began her set at the Universal Music Group showcase at Nashville's Rocket Town by saying she felt almost as nervous re-entering the scene as she did the first time she sang "She's in Love with the Boy" live (opening for Garth Brooks). No need to worry, Trisha was warmly welcomed back and her distinctly rich vocals were great to hear again, particularly on "How Do I Live."
GARTH BROOKS MAY SING ON FIRST SINGLE - Trisha sang two songs that are contenders for first single, the energetic "Pistol," and one amazing tune called "Georgia Rain," that she refers to as "Strawberry Wine in a Truck." She told us that tune does have Garth Brooks' only presence on the album. "He sings background vocals on 'Georgia Rain,' it could be the first single,"Trisha confirms. The new single, when chosen, is coming to radio in April.

I'm really looking forward to hearing Trisha back on the radio again. She's been gone way too long for my liking.
