Wondering if they'll even have a non-promoted 4th release...Parade seems like the perfect fit.

i would think they would throw out one more ("I Will") - It is so different that it just might swim rather than sink --- what do they have to lose -- there are no new releases on the horizon for them and the tour still rolls on. "Radio" and "Parade" would also be interesting choices.

Their record company, Atlantic? Capitol? I forget, has always managed to screw-job them on fourth singles with the exception of "Back 2 Good" back in...1998? I am pretty sure they barely promoted it and man, that song took forever to peak, and stayed around forever as well. That was an interesting chart run.
Then came the "Last Beautiful Girl" failure in 2001, where that song was quite good but not even promoted at all, no video.
Then the biggest disaster was Hot AC beginning to play "All I Need" and then for some reason, they released "Downfall", of course, with no video, confusing programmers, and it did poorly. Why they did not release "The Difference", an easy Top 5 Hot AC and CHR Top 10 is beyond me, I'll never know or understand why that wasn't released more than probably any song by any group last decade.
As far as Rob the same thing went for him except I don't think he even got a fourth single on either of his albums yet you heard cuts from both albums being played at stores and they could have easily released something.
That being said, I will be surprised to see anything released.

What show did they record? Well, this is certainly an odd choice... Matchbox Twenty, Live from Camden, NJ - Susquehanna Bank Center. Of all the venues they hit this summer and they pick this one and near the end of the tour. Why do artists do that when the singer's voice is much more likely to be tired and not as clear. Head scratcher for sure. I'm still excited for it but truly an odd thing. I didn't think they were going to do one. I don't think there will be a fourth single. I think I posted it already but we are probably getting a Rob album in 2014 so his first single will probably be the next thing we hear. Now, whether he will get any radio support is another thing especially if he releases an alt-country album. Actually, I think that will be the next MB20 album. My guess is that Rob will go pop/R&B. I've got it on record now that I said that. :)

i think Rob will get radio support for solo more than MB20 did. I don't think his solo name comes with as much "oldies" baggage as the groups unfortunately does. I am in the Providence / Boston area and Rob solo catalog still gets a lot of play at Hot AC and even "Someday" gets spun still at our local CHR which amazes me (in favor of "Lonely no More"). Guess we shall see!

You make a good point about the band's name really being synamous with the 90s. That's why I was initially against the GGDs/MB20 tour. That pairing really made it seem like some nostalgia tour. I don't think it came off that way to the diehard fan but I'm sure it did to the casual fan. I saw a lot of comments something along the lines of...I'm reliving my high school days tonight, etc. LOL!
Rob will be 42 next year and pop radio (which is really what HotAC is now) isn't too kind to the older artist. Maybe he should come out with a single with 2-3 featured artists on it. It worked for Robin Thicke who is only 4 years younger than Rob. He is having a monster hit and his first one as far as I'm concerned. I don't know any of his previous songs. I'm not a fan of Robin's but you get my point. I'm kidding. I'd be okay with it if Rob did do it but I wouldn't bet money on him doing something like that. He may have a guest artist or two but that would probably be it. He doesn't need 10 guests on his album to help him sell his music to his fanbase.

For the MB20 fans who might check this post. Fitting end to the era. The band still has a few out of country concert dates and the cruise in December but for the most part this is the end to the era in the US. In Halifax last night they played a song that didn't make North. I LOVE it. Very, very country and with sing-a-long harmonies. Maybe played as an indication of the next album....... www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjaC5aSLdp4&feature=youtu.beSee you all around for Rob's solo album in a year or so. Vocals are clearer in this one. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxI6EmN0dIE
