I didn't like that performance at all.
She Came To Give It To You is a nice, if not bland, album track at best. Usher needs to go for critical acclaim and release an innovative, daring R&B project rather than chasing trends (whether they be Urban or Pop.) I didn't like Here I Stand at all, Raymond vs. Raymond was good and then L4M was hot and cold.

"Believe Me" is pretty underwhelming. It reminds me of another Usher song that I can't quite put my finger on right now.

He just has lost his connection with his core fanbase. Yeah, I didn't really care for Looking 4 Myself as an album, and while I enjoyed "Good Kisser," I don't love it and am not really a fan of "She Came To Give It To You" or "Believe Me". Usher went from being someone I always highly anticipated new material from to someone I don't really have high expectations for anymore.

Usher is giving me a stubborn child tease this era likeβ¦you barely cared for my last album, so why should I bother to promote my music anymore? It really feels like he has given up even before this era started. I feel that this attitude will beat him in the ass. One underperforming album is bound to happen sooner or later, BUT after the 2nd one in a rowβ¦ Itβll be a whole another situation. Iβm not delusional. Weβre in 2014. Ushβ¦ is no longer the superstar he used to beβ¦ Well to be brutally honest: currently Usher is more of a talent show judge whoβs last album struggled to reach GOLD., despite the fact he menaged to score a couple of hits. Even heβs core radio formats hardly support him anymoreβ¦.
But despite of all of that, I thought that with this era he still had a chance to reverse it, but it seems like he already blew it. I was so mad last night, and I mean REALLY MAD. I was really anticipating his VMAs performanceβ¦ I was like OK. maybe the news music from Usher is not the sh#t for me anymore, but I bet he can still put on a stellar performance. He proved me wrong last night. All the characteric features of Usher performances were there, but it was like he didnβt even try to hide how little effort he put into this.

Hate the album title. It's so...uninspired. It's like someone interviewed and asked him what they can expect from the album, and that was his response.

This actually happened during one of his interviews about 2 months ago, that's why I'm wondering if this is actually the title or a big mix up. After that interview, that title was on Wikipedia the next day.

Everything You Can Imagine is kind of dumb but anything is a step up over UR.
Since Confessions, he's had some pretty stupid album titles tbh.

Is his mom managing him still?
And I'm still baffled on why "Believe Me" wasn't performed and released on iTunes.

They were throwing singles all against the wall and finally OMG and There Goes My Baby became successful ... He hasn't had flawless promotion since 2004. He made a poor decision firing his mother.

Yeah it was, I didn't like how singles were handled and how they were so quick to release "Versus"...But I remember his promo being better than it is now. They at least had him performing the material on different tv shows leading up to the album release. I don't know what the hell they're doing with this album.

"Believe Me" is the closest thing to sounding like his Confessions era that I've heard him release. It would be nice to see RCA really push this. Urban will undoubtably support it.

I agree, I wonder how long they'll push SCTGITY since they plan on releasing the video tomorrow. I kinda think that's dead, tbh. Not sure how much a video can help at this point.

I'll hold my criticism b/c that could just as easily be a Mariah/JD situation where the artist is just as much to blame for only hiring 'yes' people.

He has such promise.Everything comes off so lazy now brother you are still doing moves from 2001-2004 era

usher use to be able to bring the house down. I get the sagging record sales, but he has entered that zone, along with my favs where they feel they are too accomplished and have nothing to prove. His performances are just wack now. His music is a shell of itself.
but i wont go IN till i hear full album. I was bashing Mimi up until I heard her album and despite everything it blew me away. The lead up is so similar.

I wonder how this era would do if "Climax" were the lead single. I think "Climax" was ahead of it's time in a way.

Ugh, he even looks bored on the album cover! At any rate, I still hold that L4M was a really strong effort from him musically overall(in spite of the few throwaway success chasing tracks). So I won't diss this era until I hear the album.
