Wow @ that acoustic version of Crash. I've always been a fan of his falsetto, I always dig his stripped down performances.

Has anyone seen Hands of Stone already? I know it's gotten a mixed reception (critics/box office), but I'm interested to see if Usher has gotten better with his acting (especially since In the Mix). Just saw this featurette on him:

I wonder what happened to the material he's been working on w/ Skrillex & Ed Sheeran.

"Bump" is a sexy Confessions-era throwback. Loving it.
I can't wait to buy this album.

He just wants an album out, it seen. I hope "Rivals" and "Missin' U" can help him sell. "No Limit" and "Crash" were just bad songs to start with. "No Limit" could have been decent for a third single, but not lead. At least he could have give us something really "Usher" first then try for a "popular" mess for later release.

He just posted snippets on his IG story. Sounds like it'll be R&B heavy. "Crash" was the only "pop" sounding record I heard.

The album sounds cute, very cohesive in sound.
"Bump" sounds like a bop

From the snippets he posted on his Instagram Story i think this new album will be disappointing. Too many(basic)nowadays urban sounds. So far I really like Missin U and Bump is a nice track, but Champions is boring and bland, No Limit is mediocre, Crash and Rivals are just ok (i can't stand Future).
I have a feeling the album he was working on at first was really good (Good Kisser and She Came...were really good), but RCA probably scrapped it. That's sad.

Now streaming on TIDAL.
After the first listen, Hard II Love is an appropriate title. I don't think I've even approached "like".

"Tell Me" is extremely dope. Some records are sounding like he's trying to go after the Drake sound.

The album is alright. I like "Missin U," "Bump," "Tell Me" and "Rivals" the most. It veers off into the Bryson Tiller territory a little too much for me, but the one thing that does elevate it are his vocals. I've always thought he was a talented vocalist, but it's really apparent now, when you hear him over the current trends and especially when he collaborates with other male artists.
Unfortunately, I don't think this album will do anything to help the current state of his career. I hate to say it, but it might be time for him to hit up Vegas...
On another note, I do think that "Missin U" and "Rivals" are the right single choices, but I don't understand why they're releasing them at the same time. "Missin U" could work at rhythmic, urban and urban AC, and so could "Rivals" (just make a Future-less edit for urban AC).

Ok ok, Usher, I won't even say I'm not enjoying this album, BUT it doesn't quite sound like him at all in these songs. I'm not saying it is a bad thing, just simply weird to me.
I love "Need U", ("Missin' U still great), "Bump", and "Let Me". Hell "No Limit" even sounds fresh as hell. The production feels different on "No Limit" too.
However, he sounds so different in a good way, BUT ugh.

I listened to it a couple of time and i think it's an underwhelming album. Too many urban/trap beats (i'm not a fan of these type of sounds): No Limit, Let Me, Downtime, Make U A Believer... FWM is Missin U and Tell Me are my fave songs so far. Need U and Bump are nice! The other songs are just ok or mediocre. Maybe some songs will grow on me...but so far i'm not impressed. It's like he's trying to be "trendy".

Title track and "Crash" can go, but overall, I enjoyed it a lot. I loved Rivals (of course) and Tell Me on the later half to this album. "Stronger" and "Champion" are quite good too. I actually did not expect to enjoy "Champion" that much.

I honestly do not get "trendy" with this release and I expected that due to the "No Limit" and "Crash" releases. However, I think it is quite a cohesive piece of work. The only songs I would skip are the title track and "Crash". I had no real interest in this release; nevertheless, he still delivered a great body of work, imo.

People tend to have this perspective of him; whether it's accurate or not, is unfair. If he makes music like its 2004 (which people claim was his last good album), then it'll be dated. If he makes music that's modern, he's trying to be trendy. I don't envy his PR team at all. It's a good album and it's one that one that will grow with me. I happen to like Crash. If you take off "Champions" and maybe another track I'd probably play it through. Very diverse, but cohesive set.

I can live with the trap beats but don't sacrifice the hooks and melodies.

This is hands down my least favorite album by him. Unexciting production, underwhelming hooks.. I feel like he'd need to reinvent himself from the ground up to get my interest at this point. "Missin U" and "Need U" are both fine with me for now (he can never go wrong with the Michael influenced choruses), but I don't see myself listening to them years from now.

Artists need to experimenting and try new things too. But No Limit, Let Me, Downtime, Make U A Believer sound just like everything that's on Urban radio nowadays. Need U and Bump are really nice. Missin U and Tell Me are dope! But then.. FWM is mediocre, Rivals is cute (i cant stand Future tho) and the other songs are just nice or forgettable. I mean...it's not a BAD album. It's an album that may sound nice now but will probably not age well. Overall it's not a GOOD album. But that's my opinion...
