He deserves the sales he's receiving. This album sounds like a bunch of Future and Chris Brown songs. PASS! I don't think "classic Usher" would have served him any better from a commercial perspective. He's in the same boat as Alicia Keys. At least I would've like it. ::snicker:: What happened to that Urban AC jam PARADISE that was featuring (I forgot) did that come out on some project?

Well...I definitely play this album front to back more than any other Usher album, outside of R v R. Interestingly enough, just like that album, the opening track is my least favorite.

He says a few more videos will be released, including "Tell Me".
I would like to hear another album from him within the next year. I think his perfectionist mindset gets in his own way. I'd love to hear him collaborating with new and upcoming artist in the genre and the J Cole's of the world.
The man has the talent to drop another classic, he just needs to stop overthinking.

I want a male version of the Ride video for Bump. Something like that can go viral and the song is a hit regardless.

I love Bump and Let Me so much. One of my all-time favorite 1-2 combos ever on an album. These songs are better than most of Usher's singles. The only ones that rival it, in my opinion, are Burn and Lil' Freak. By the time Downtown ends, I am in a puddle. This is probably my second favorite Usher album, start to finish, after R v R.

I love this album now.
Songs like "Bump" and "Missin U" are mid-00s Usher, even though the latter is heavenly influenced by the modern urban sounds. I feel like the label should've promoted these two early on. "No Limit" is a mix throwback and modern southern Hip Hop, a reference to one of the biggest rap labels from the 90s, a trap beat, and a Young Thug feature. Still a bop. I also love "Downtime", "FWM", and "Let Me". "Crash" and "Rivals" sound better as album tracks. "Tell Me", which is another great song, doesn't feel like an 8 minute track. Love the vocals.

Usher did Champions with Ruben Blades. I feel like the band and Ruben did more. Oop. Sounded good tho.

Listening to him on iHeart now. The mixes for these songs are crunk as hell! I hate this hack censoring job, though.

Missin' U No Limit Bump Let Me Crash FWM Tell Me
Feels like I really enjoyed the first half of the album a lot, while the second is just okay if I want to leave something playing in the background. "No Limit" finally grew on me, in the context of listening to the album all the way through, while I'm a bit on the fence on "FWM" which sounds great, but I could do w/o all those explicit lyrics.
"Tell Me" has got to be one of my favorite songs of his in recent years, while I'm glad "Missin' U" is being pushed as a single next.

So I bought a ticket to the Grand Prix Races in Austin because Taylor Swift and The Weeknd were the Saturday and Sunday performers. I just got an e-mail that The Weeknd cancelled and now Usher + The Roots will be filling in for him instead! Talk about an upgrade.

And are you saying live Taylor Swift was a draw for you to purchase a ticket? I agree that Usher and The Roots are an upgrade though.

It's Formula 1 which still doesn't mean sh!t to me since I'm not going to watch that. B. I purchased a Sunday only ticket when The Weeknd was the performer C. I got the ticket on Groupon for way cheap (They are $99 but Groupon had it for $89 plus an additional 20% off with a local code)

The album dropped? What??? I legit knew nothing about it even having the slightest inkling of a release window. I am more shocked it's out than I am at those numbers. Who on earth handled the promo for this? Did he have an era budget of $100 or something? The only thing that makes sense to me, after thinking about it, is that this is his eighth studio album. IDK what kind of contract(s) he had since he's been through no less than four different labels due to folding, but if this is his last contracted album for Sony and he's thinking about moving elsewhere, maybe nobody gives a f**k. That's all I got. I'm grasping at breaking limbs here. I'm a couple of weeks late seeing this from HITS' Rumor Mill, but I might not have been too far off with the ending-contract theory after all: hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=303102Usher honestly has enough wealth that he could go independent - like, true independent, form his own label and just sign on with a major for distribution, then relying on Scooter to do the heavy lifting when it comes to booking - but I already know this is unlikely and he probably doesn't have the mentality for it. I see him signing with Roc Nation if he's really tired of Sony as a whole but if he did stay in Sony's clutches it makes the most sense for him to slide over to Epic to reunite with his original mentor. I don't see him returning to RCA, and frankly wouldn't want him to. Can't really imagine what other major would be a good fit for him. I feel like not squat has happened in terms of promotion since he signed on with Scooter but I'm not willing to blame anyone outside of Usher for that just yet, given the circumstances.

I've been listening to the album for a while...I don't know if I like it or not. I mean, I listen to the whole album, but Usher's album comes after Solange and JoJo ... I mean, I like his voice...songs are kinda slow on this album and I like that. My favorite is Tell Me then Downtime Let me et toq!

I'm addicted to "FWM" at the moment. Honestly, I didn't know what it stood for until I listened to the explicit version a while back. He altered the lyrics on the clean version, which I own.
