LOL. This song kicks ass, despite the cheese factor. Didn't like "Wild West Show" much, but I dig this.

Oh my lord... just heard this one on the way back from the lake. I would rather be forced to listen to "Wild West Show" 50 times than have to listen to this once again. The girls, they are so prettteeeee... BARF!

Our station did a listener call-in poll during the morning show after giving the song a spin, and the consensus was that the lyrics aren't family friendly enough, so the DJ (who is also the station's music and program director) made the decision on-air to not add the song. I don't live in a conservative area, either. Far from it. We're not that far from the San Francisco bay area! I haven't heard the song yet (I tuned in during the listener reactions, after the song was played), or seen the lyrics.

Seriously, I love it! I also liked WWS. I would rather listen to something different and fun and maybe not so family-friendly then listen to Toby record the same song over and over and over...

They are taking off. The album is up to #6 on the Billboard chart with sales of 75,000 this week.

I know there is a novelty factor at play here... but I just love Big & Rich. It's one of the overall best songs this year, IMO. The lyrics are clever, even sophisticated if you look past the "cheese factor", and the music is country, just kicked up a bit. And John Rich really *can* sing...

Can he now?? :o Actually, they sound good on Gretchen's "The Bed", with wonderful harmony. The song actually has grown a little on me... but I don't think the lyrics are all that clever. But that is JMHO. It is a good song to listen to with your windows rolled down.

It is a good song to listen to with your windows rolled down. Especially when you're picking up the car pool at school, surrounded by Escalades. Boy do I get the looks ;) Just wanted to add that this week's Nashville Skyline is about Big & Rich and some of the things being addressed in this thread... www.cmt.com/news/articles/1489464/20040715/big_rich.jhtml?headlines=true

Thanks for the article... interesting read, however I don't think they are accurate when they say that Big and Rich are getting "virtually no airplay". The song is in the top 15 and rising... "Wild West" show made it into the top 25. Sounds like they are trying to pat themselves on the back for playing the video.

At first I thought it was just a bit too silly, but it has rally grown on me. Definitely fun to crank this one up in the car.
