But it has so many alternative singles on it! Looking at the Top 40 alone, half of the songs are or were songs promoted and/or played by alternative radio! I'm probably a bigger fan of alternative music than you are!

I prefer "Take Me to Church", honestly. The latest song is a bit of a snoozer. I can't say I really like anything in that Top 10 aside from Sam Smith and Meg Myers - I liked the Banks song, but it grew off me a bit recently.

• After last week when male artists occupied the Top 5 for the first time, this week they do it again while also taking over the #6 position. Plus, Dallas Green is one half of #7 with Pink. Rounding out the Top 10 is Ed Sheeran and while they don’t provide vocals, Röyksopp is credited as half of #10 with Robyn. Banks provides the only song in the Top 10 without a male artist co-credited.

• Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud is a new Top 10 entry, giving him 3/3 for singles from X reaching the upper portion of the chart. Sing peaked at #6 and Don’t recently made it to #7. Don’t also became his longest running Top 10 single as it spent 11 weeks in, besting the 9 weeks for both Sing and his debut single, the #1 hit The A Team. Thinking Out Loud becomes his 6th Top 10 hit, which actually places him 7th as the male artist with the most Top 10 singles. Eminem has the most with 21.

• Betty Who drops off this week with Somebody Loves You, after 50 weeks in total inside the Top 100. It’s the first song this decade to reach 50 weeks on. Had it spent 2 more weeks on, it would have reached a full year and had been added to the 52-week-club. The last song to enter the 52-week-club was All For Love by Serena Ryder in 2009. That song spent 59 weeks in the Top 100.

• Pink’s collaborative album with Dallas Green grants her her 18th Top 10 hit, putting her in 4th among all artists with the most Top 10 hits. The aforementioned Eminem has had the most with 21. Lady Gaga has had 20 and Chantal Kreviazuk 19, since 1998.

• Speaking of Lady Gaga, she earns her 33rd Top 40 hit this week as Bang Bang moves upward. That breaks the tie she held with Rihanna and puts her alone in first place as the female artist with the most Top 40 hits in The Max 100 history. Overall, only Eminem has had most Top 40 chart appearances with 34.
