I kno that JDM's new album is due out sometime in the summer. The new single is mentioned in her cover in Country Weekly(dont remember the name). This album was supposed to come out last year but Curb pushed the Greatest Hits instead(did the same w. Tim). Anyone else have any further info?
Modified: The new Jo Dee single is called "Too Late To Worry".

I believe last we heard the release for the album was going to be in September... which means we should be seeing a single any day now. I can't wait to hear her new music, it's been so long since we've had new music from Jo Dee.
She is one artist that is constantly looked over in the industry.

I hope she's made an attempt to do something slightly different. I'm a fan of hers and own all three of her albums, but all of her stuff started sounding the same. Hope she branches out on this new stuff.

Anyone know if Tim produced this one too? I think I remember her saying back in 03 that he did.. I agree some of her stuff sounds the same but the new tracks on the GH sounded a little different.

Tim produced the original Delicious Surprise, along with Byron Gallimore, I believe. But Curb wasn't happy with the finished product, so they shelved it and put out the Greatest Hits and she went back into the studio. I believe I remember reading last year that she worked with Mark Bright on the new record, although I could be mistaken.

I saw Jo Dee in concert on Thursday night. She put on an awesome show - I recommend seeing her if you ever get the chance. She performed 7 or 8 new songs that will be on the album, due out early next year. From what I heard, they sounded great and were a departure from what she has been doing. They're more like her Burn material than the first 2 albums, but I'd say they sounded different from what she has been releasing lately. We should be getting a single in early January.

JoDee is working on new tracks for the album w/ Byron Gallimore. She had previously parted ways w/ Byron and Tim turning in an album to Curb working w/ different people. Both the label and JoDee's management didn't think the album was strong enough and went w/ a Greatest Hits instead -- including as new songs the strongest material recorded for the album (Was That My Life, I Wish and You Belong In The Sun). All parties now seem to be really excited about the new stuff she is recording...
As for Tim, Curb never shelved a Tim album although they did put out a Greatest Hits between albums -- Tim is not a fan of Greatest Hits so wasn't for it when it came out nor did he want "My Next Thirty Years" to be a single (but radio forced that one out). His opinion gradually changed on both of those once they went onto be massive hits.

Interestingly enough, Curb also held LeAnn's new album until stronger material was recorded...putting out her "Greatest Hits" instead...again w/ the stongest songs recorded up to that point (This Love).
If her new album had come out earlier, "Nothing Bout Love Makes Sense" would not have been recorded and "This Love" would have been the first single.
I bet she's happy w/ that decision as she is now having her biggest hit since "I Need You". By the way, she actually agreed w/ Curb at the time about going w/ the "Greatest Hits" instead...it went onto be one of her biggest sellers internationally (her biggest in the UK and Asia).

The first single will go for adds January 18th, with the album to follow approximately 12 weeks later (so a mid-April release, as of now).

It would be good to have an artist like JoDee back on country radio. She is the type that can typically turn out hit after hit.
