I finally got to listen to this. Wow. I am impressed! This song has way more substance than a lot of her previous radio releases. I am loving Kellie more and more with every album. I hope this is the one to finally break her through. This song may not be the strong debut single she needs, because radio may not connect with it; but if they do connect this will be huge. Whether radio accepts this effort or not, it is a solid A+ to me! I can tell that this is a song that is going to get better and better every time I listen to it too.

Whoo hoo! That one worked for me, thanks!!!!!!! Just as beautiful as I imagined. I will say that most of the time I am listening to radiofare (like in my car while driving) I prefer mid to up tempo songs, but there are those times when a ballad just does the trick. I sure miss Kellie on the radio.

I'm excited to see what Black River can do with her. They've shown a very strong commitment to Craig Morgan and the fact that they have both he and Kellie on the roster really helps, since both are already established artists.
I don't know if this will be a big hit but the difference between now and the 100 Proof era is that Kellie is a big time label priority now. When her last album and its singles came out, Sony was going through all kinds of personnel changes and they had been losing some money, and Kellie just wasn't a big 'draw' commercially or at radio, so they didn't invest a lot of promotion into the project or its singles (and they really didn't have the means to). But at Black River she's more of a flagship artist, like Carrie and Brad are at Arista, or Blake at Warner Bros, etc. She will be the top priority of the label in 2013.

Hmm, this is very, very sleepy for summer, although I know all summer songs don't have to be upbeat.
It's pretty, although I'm not a lover of cover songs released on radio-unless it is one that knocks my socks off like Wagon Wheel. Although that one took a couple listens to grow on me.
It's sooo slow, I wonder if radio would speed it up?
She has some good momentum now, especially with the DWTS gig, so good luck to her! I always felt bad (even if I wasn't a fan) that both she and Danny Gokey seemed to get shafted by their label when Sony Nash had financial trouble and consolidated labels.

I love this but I don't have big hopes for it on radio. In fact, I'm soft of perplexed as to why they wouldn't choose something more radio-friendly but still remained a ballad. I can't wait for new music from her tho.

Adds Date: May 28 (Black River Entertainment) SourceAllAccess is listing the 14th for an adds date but I know that's not right--it's a Tuesday. The 28th is a Tuesday as well but the 27th is Memorial Day. I do think the plan is to have this sent to radio on the 14th though, but I'm sure we'll see some ads in Billboard or Country Aircheck in the next 2 weeks. I can't see Black River just sending this for adds already next week with out any published ads in BB or CA, so I'm expecting to see some of those either on Monday or the following Monday.

Kellie said for herself on Facebook that the single was sent out and should be on all stations by Monday

A lyric video? Wow, that's more treatment than what "100 Proof" got during its entire course as a single.
I really hope Black River can do some wonders with her and her next album. I'm glad they're capitalizing on her massive DWTS exposure because she just made the finals and many are poising her to win.
Also, it's #178 on iTunes all-genre 200.

Kellie made it to the finale on Dancing With The Stars! As well she should. It'd have been a travesty if her Perfect Score dance sent her home. It really does seem like she's going to win this thing and be ready to spring "Someone Somewhere Tonight" to radio success.

I think she is going to win too, and quite a few online polls have indicated her as the fan favorite to win too

She is doing so well on DWTS, I sure hope she wins too! The extra attention she's receiving from it will hopefully be a big boost to get this new single off the ground.
I bought the single from Amazon yesterday and I've been listening to it and it really gets better and better. I'm excited to see how this does on radio, because it's a great song, even if it isn't the conventional 'country radio' release.

A couple weeks ago when I first seen this thread I was so excited for new Kellie music. When the audio leaked, my first thought it was pretty freaking boring. Fast forward a week or so, and I can't stop listening to it. It's such a good song. I truly hope Black River treats her well. And I hope her DWTS stint is enough for country radio to pick her right back up.

Hopefully, with the media attention she has received on Dancing With The Stars, Kellie Pickler can land a solid country hit this year.

I realize many people are excited that she won (myself included), but a one-word post like this doesn't contribute anything to the discussion, and this is also a double post, made a mere 15 hours after your last one. Let's try to steer away from double posting and keep our posts as substantial as possible. Thanks.

Good for Kellie for winning DWTS ... now if only she'd release a song that country radio will actually play and covering Someone Somewhere Tonight is not that song. Her last record at RCA (or Sony or Arista or whichever imprint) was another attempt at a female to put out a really retro record and it failed - Just like Leann Womack's previous attempts with a retro country sound failed (with much better songs). It's kind of a head scratcher why Kellie keeps trying to stick a square peg in a round hole if she wants radio airplay. Her winning DWTS isn't going to change what radio wants from her - especially with her being at a little indie label like Black River.

If Black River tries half as much with this song as they are doing for Craig Morgan's "More Trucks Than Cars," I'd say that Kellie really stands a chance of at least getting back into the top 20 with this song albeit a climb as slow as Craig's. They have been pushing Craig's song tirelessly, despite it having almost no momentum or attention/approval from radio or fans, so I can easily see a push half that size getting Kellie much further up the charts. Wishing her all the best with this song. I'm still rather bitter about the failure of "100 Proof" to do anything on the charts, so I'm really hoping this song can become a hit.

It's getting spun on Sirius! Loving it. Glad to see this off to a good start at terrestrial radio as well... I would really love to see Kellie start getting the recognition she deserves.

I like Kellie as a personality and although I don't watch DWTS, it sounds like she did a great job.
I'm rooting for her because I think she got shafted by her former label (she didn't seem to get much push or promo for her last album) but I seem to be in the minority-this song is just very zzzzzz sleep inducing for me, I just can't see radio jumping on it in a big way.
But she has a nice start, so good for her.

I've enjoyed some of Kellie's past music, but for me -- agree for a radio comeback single this one is pretty snoozy and uninteresting.
