Damn, this song is really struggling to stay in the Top 50 There are a lot of songs that aren't moving much. But several songs will go recurrent on MB this afternoon, I believe, so Kellie should be back in there in the evening update and tomorrow morning as well. I see we're getting quite a few daily Mediabase updates in this thread, but we generally prefer to have a little more substance and analysis. The majority of chart-watchers know where to find the chart.

I thought there was only 1 song expected to go recurrent this week, Brantly. That'd be great it its more than just him and the Top 40 can loosen up.

^You may be right, McCreerian. For some reason I was thinking there would be more songs going recurrent this afternoon, but of course I don't follow Mediabase's (at least, when songs go recurrent) as close as I follow Billboard. I thought maybe Gary Allan would go recurrent but he's got another week. Brantley did drop off though, and soon MB will have a housecleaning with several top 10 songs dropping.

WOW, looks like this song is DONE sadly, drops from #49 all the way down to #60 this week on Country Airplay. Drops 190 plays from a week ago. I like this song but knew once I heard it even though how moving and Country feel like the song vibe has, I knew radio would not touch this. It's a shame because this is what Kellie wants to promote to radio but they refuse to give her the airplay she so rightfully deserves. Hopefully Black River gets another single out and is more uptempo that radio may spin.

I'm not entirely surprised, but I didn't see this giant fall coming. :'( I sure hope the second single fares much better. It's probably best if they go for something much more upbeat next.

Why does this bother me so much? The music I think of as "high quality" doesn't generally get much airplay. I look at it this way: it's not like country radio is incapable of seeing the difference between a good song and a bad one. They see the difference, but their "research" tells them to play the bad ones.
I'm oversimplifying. I do realize that tastes differ. But for every Wagon Wheel there are seemingly 50 Don't Ya's.
And almost every time someone sings a song as terrific as Someone Somewhere Tonight, I have to learn all over again that it's not going to get spins. You'd think I could figure out what to expect, but instead that drop to 60 comes as a huge shock to me.

Being female and an Idol Alumni and traditional is pretty much radio suicide. So sad cause she is one of the only few real artists left in Country music. I mean look at all the promotion she got from her DWTS win and radio could care less! Sure they talked about her every morning on local shows rooting her on "for Country music" but when she sends music to them after the show is over all of a sudden she doesn't exist anymore. No wonder my car's stations stay on the Top 40 now or just CDs. Country radio is dead to me and has been for a long time. Frat boy songs, songs with altered voices and rap, songs with guitars louder than singing, that is my version of Country music hell. What ever happened to simple story telling songs like Kellie is trying to sell, they used to fly the to the top of the charts not so many years ago. What is worse is the new generation is buying what the head honchos at radio corporations are selling and they believe its actual real Country music. Listen to Kellie Picker. Listen to the new Pam/Lorrie album. Listen to the new George album. That is Country music. Period.
