That performance of "Lemonade", ugh. Dawn should be bigger. I really wish she would have follow the same sound from the groups (DK and Dirty Money) for her solo projects. She has too much talent.

I was actually just thinking about how Dawn's solo material is coloring some of the DK tracks. "Rhythm of Love" reminds me of some of her solo material but a little brighter.

My issue with her solo material that it sounds cheap unlike her group contributions. It is obvious, she is a major influence in the overall sound for both groups, but I think she tried to separate herself from those sounds once she went solo.

Aundrea was cute...5 years ago.
It's always a female f**king up something. They get pregnant and just take the group down with their ass. SMH. This is why I can't do females sometimes. And bitch MARRIAGE before baby. Yeah I'm in my feelings. So what, who cares? :(

I'm fine with no Aundrea. She really lagged behind the others in several ways. And her vocal abilities have always been overrated. And let's be honest, vocals don't matter too much these days anyway. However, Aubrey and Shannon are completely capable enough. Plus, Drea was always a disappointing live vocalist.
The new trio ATE on stage. Perfect lineup for a DK trio.

LOL. They have sturdy harmonies but it's clear the only REAL singer is Dawn. The others are hired dancers/window dressing. Aubrey's attitude and confidence are EVERYTHING tho. I don't know Shannon Bex. What does she do? Clean the other girls' rooms?

Diddy knew the real tea. That why Dawn had most of the climax parts in the songs, her tone is everything.

DK wouldn't be DK without her, period. Anywho, I'm wondering if they'll be re-recording over Aundrea's vocals for the records she's already recorded on. We should also find out if they're signed or not on Tuesday when the single hits itunes.

I honestly wouldn't know how Shannon sounds like even if she sings something in front of me. She's quite invisible in this group but that could all change now. However, as of right now, she's just Dawn's backup dancer.

Right? People have ALWAYS acted like Shannon is this secret ingredient that made Danity Kane work just because she was the nicest/most normal one of them on the TV show. Her voice is so indistinct. It's like a very watered down version of Aubrey who is in turn a watered down version of Aundrea. She can dance but she definitely contributed the least to the group because she had the least to offer.
Personally, I think the best lineup would have been Dawn on lead with Aundrea and Wanita. Aubrey has a certain charisma about her that worked when they were on TV but her voice is eh. And Shannon is just a piece of bread.

No no no to the last post.
Dawn, Aubrey, and Shannon are fierce as hell as a trio. Best dancers in the group and they all look hot as hell doing it. D Woods and Aundrea, as much as I loved them, really brought the group down aesthetically, and Drea stuck out like a sore thumb with her choreo. If I had to choose three to make a DK trio, this would be it. They totally fit the mold of an international pop group now.
Dawn has a really good voice, but Aubrey's tone has always been on point for me and is the reason I'm such a fan. I always look forward to her parts the most. Shannon shouldn't be overlooked either. She goes as hard as the rest of the girls. I'm so excited that these girls are left because they all genuinely look hungry and committed to making this work. I really hope it pays off for them.
Ahhh I can't wait to see what they do video-wise with this. I hope to see lots of choreo, lots of shirtless guys, and lots of grinding.

Aubrey and Aundrea both have nasal tones, no thanks and with the latter, more heavier on the nose singing. They are interchangable to me. I wouldn't know who sings what between those two. I could only recognize Dawn and D.Woods (who honestly had an awful tone too). I guess Shannon was usually on break during most of the songs. So.

Didn't fit the group aesthetically? Fit the mold of a pop group now? I'm pretty sure we aren't out here bopping to looks, boo.
Also all this emphasis on dancing is so random?

Honestly, Dawn is the only one with a truly distinctive voice. Aundrea, Aubrey, and Shannon all have a similar tone. Aubrey is just a little more breathy. Aundrea is a tad nasally. Shannon has a bit of twang. D. Woods's voice is also completely bland. Not having those two members doesn't really change the sound much. Aundrea's range was no larger than Dawn's or Aubrey's. And Shannon has shown that she can easily take over parts that D, Aubrey, and Aundrea (maybe minus some of the upper notes) has, meaning that her lack of solos wasn't necessarily a lack of ability.
But, why are we discussing this as if it even matters? The lineup is what it is. And they're all vocally competent, which is more than enough for the industry. The most important thing is that this lineup is truly the best combination of aesthetics, dancing, vocals, showmanship, and fierceness given the pool of members.

I agree that Shannon, Aub, and Drea all have a similar tone, but Aubrey knows how to sell it a bit more like a phone sex operator. And I buy it x)

Maybe you don't, but I like the whole package when it comes to my girl groups. PCD and Girlicious were always on point with their dancing and looks. When there's that one girl in the group who's look sticks out like a sore thumb... Well it takes away from the overall vibe. But I don't blame you for your lack of understanding... You must be that ugly one in your group of friends. (Kidding kidding) Today's groups are so lazy and one dimensional.... The Wanted, One Direction, Little Mix... All they really have going for them is their voices, and their live performances are so samey. Dancing is what seperates DK from the lessers. They kill it everytime and it makes their performances/MV so much more entertaining. Did you not watch Making the Band and all the emphasis that was placed on choreo. Laurieann Gibson... Boomkack? If you're gonna come at me, at least know your DK history... Boo.

Personally, I think the best lineup would have been Dawn on lead with Aundrea and Wanita. Aundrea is a sweet girl but she's a glorified freestyle singer at best. I would gladly welcome that in just about any context but it doesn't make her an asset to Danity Kane. Every single member, past and present, is qualified. Let's not sit around and pretend Aubrey and Shannon are Jhene and Jeremih-level talents who had the good fortune of being merely ornamental or secondary to the predetermined headliner. And maybe they're not Dawn, but who is? She is so gifted, tremendously gifted, that I personally can't help but think she's been dealt an unfair hand in this industry. The woman is a powerhouse. But anyway: The lineup is what it is. And they're all vocally competent, which is more than enough for the industry. The most important thing is that this lineup is truly the best combination of aesthetics, dancing, vocals, showmanship, and fierceness given the pool of members. ...and those whose priorities lie elsewhere no longer stand so there's that!

Wanita can remain staying far far away, good grief.
Anyway, I'd say it's obvious that Shannon is easily the best dancer in the group and a large part of the reason why this band was formed was based on dance ability in the first place. Throughout the years Shannon has actually improved in the vocal department too and imo I think she's always been the most underrated of the group. The bs about her just being nice is well.. bullshit. Dawn is essential because she has the voice. Her voice is fantastic and she has loads of musicality, but also her performance ability is undeniable too. While on a personal level I always thought Aubrey was overrated tbh, but ngl even she brings something to the table here. She has a pretty solid voice, harmonizes well, and fits the pop mold. I think this trio will work just fine off of one another.

Very strange way to announce a departure but she seems like a sweet girl. All the best to her. But, honestly, I have the first two DK albums and didn't know what any girls sounded like. I just thought their music was fun. Aubrey was first to stand out with her "My name is Aubrey...and I'm so cold" rap and then all of her sleazy pics. Then, Dawn got on my radar with her incredible solo work and Brandy-inspired vocals. Now, I will be following this new incarnation and pay more attention to their vocals.

Aundrea stood out to me. She sang my absolute favorite line on DAMAGED. "and you can blame the one before you" adlib towards the end.

DK3 would be a hot title for the album, now that they're down to three and it'll be their third album. Ugh I need it now
