Kenny Chesney has done something that I only remember Diamond Rio doing...going recurrent while holding at #2 for a bunch of weeks. But as I predicted, it looks like KU will step up and go to #2 this week possibly, while tim will maintain an 8th week at #1. I really think RR's recurrent policy on country sucks the big one. Billboards is getting there too, though. Smack

I was really surprised about Chesney going recurrent... Making sense of R&R's recurrency rules isn't easy.

Smack,
What are the odds Tim will go recurrent at #1? You think there's a chance? He has been losing for quite awhile..

A song needs 3 bulletless weeks in a row on the chart to go recurrent, but weeks at #1 don't count.

Look for Terri Clark to come out as #1 by Wed's updated chart would be my guess. She's up over 650 in the last 7 days as of this morning, but is she being bought spins like Reba? Still, Tim had an incredible 8 weeks at RR, 7 at BB. He's not losing spins as fast as I thought he would be though. He's not down even 200 this week. If he does manage to hang on though, what is the last song to spend 9 weeks at RR? Gotta be from the early 60s would be my guess.

"Amazed" actually pulled off 9 weeks at #1 in R&R. AJ's "5:00" and Keith Urban's "Somebody Like You" both pulled of 8 apiece. Prior to that, I couldn't tell you. Does R&R even date back to the '60s?

Tim's 10 weeks at #1 in R&R is a record; 'Amazed' by Lonestar (which fell out of the #1 slot exactly five years ago, having been replaced by KC's 'You Had Me From Hello'), had held the previous record at R&R with 8 weeks at the top.
Tim's 5379 spin week (issue dated 8-6-04) is also a record since the panel was reduced one year ago; that averaged out to 48 spins per week per station, which was also unprecedented.
It was also the first song to hit the 5,000 spin mark since the panel was reduced; 'I Go Back' missed by about 60 spins.
