This is going for adds on October 11th. Terri joins the recent trend of country artists putting new songs on greatest hits CDs and not releasing them as singles (Reba, Lee Ann, Jo Dee, etc.) by not releasing "One Of The Guys".
I'm curious to hear this new song. I figure this means we'll probably get an album by the end of this year, or Feb. of next at the very latest.

I had the pleasure of hearing this new Terri song live at a recent concert.
It's basically a song about how there is a lot tension in the world and a lot of problems and issues, but maybe if we just all relax and take a deep breath things will get worked out for the better.
I remember a couple lines from it, this is not word for word so don't quote me :)
--- So much tension between miss liberty and the eiffel tower, maybe it's time we all met up at some big happy hour.
--- you tell me just when and where and I'll buy the first round. (this line got a huge response from the crowd)
There was also a line about how the worlds been spinning around so much she's too wound up. (something like that).
I only heard it once, but it sure sounded like a good song. I'm looking forward to the release and hearing what the rest of you think of it upon hearing it.
Ohh... and I forgot to mention that Terri said her new cd would be out in Jan/Feb (just as you suspected). ;)

I heard the release date got pushed back from Oct. 11 to Nov. 1 And now it's been pushed back to November 8th. I'm still very anxious to hear this one - hopefully she'll do it at the CMAs.

Based on that clip, I'm going to like this song a lot. Sounds like Terri's got another hit on her hands. She was supposed to send the song digitally to stations today, so we should see it on Mediabase tomorrow.

I really like The World Needs a Drink. It is definatly country and has a real good sound. It should be a huge hit for Terri. She has really hit her stride in the last couple years and could be top female vocalist and the cma's. after 10 years in the business, she deserves it!
I see it is already at #60 on mediabase up 71 spins!!

I'm not sure about this one. Kinda corny. I haven't liked these last two singles as much as her previous stuff.

Well I guess this song has run into some trouble. Terri is one of country's most consistent hitmakers, and I thought this was another surefire success-in-waiting. Does anybody have a theory as to why this slipped four slots on R&R and lost its bullet?

Was this song officially released, or was it pushed back again? Yes, it's officially out. Her website says... "Terri's New Single, "The World Needs A Drink" is now spinning @ your favorite country radio station! Please be sure to call and request it!" www.terriclark.com/radio.aspxA nice list of country stations there, by the way. Well I guess this song has run into some trouble. Terri is one of country's most consistent hitmakers, and I thought this was another surefire success-in-waiting. Does anybody have a theory as to why this slipped four slots on R&R and lost its bullet? She's had a bullet for 3 days in a row on the daily updates at Mediabase, and is now #41. I don't know why it went from 306 spins on it's add date, to a low of 221 spins 4 days later on 11/12. It's been climbing back up in spins everyday since that low, so that's something positive. Probably just a temporary blip, maybe caused by some station jumping the gun before the official add date, spinning the heck out of the song for a week, and then moving it back down to reasonable rotation. Some stations do that routinely with new songs by big names, and it causes those kind of temporary surges followed by dips. The same dips happened early on with "Holy Water" by Big and Rich and with Rascal Flatt's new single, and both are doing very well now.

Give the song a chance; the same thing happened to 'Mr. Mom', which is now #1.
Patience please!!!!!

This is moving up the charts again, after spending some time around #32. It's now #27 on mediabase. Hopefully this will now really take off. Not sure why it hasn't happened earlier. But anyways it starting to look good for this song... Maybe its because of the video release.
Terri's new album is called TEXT and should be out in the spring!

It's a pretty weak song in my opinion. Maybe it's the fact that I still listen to Fearless quite often and I know what Terri is capable of doing. It's really sad that radio pigeon-holed Terri into having to cut/release songs like "The World Needs A Drink" The song is week both lyrically and sonically.....of course, that's just my opinion. Terri is beginning to turn into the female counterpart of Tracy Byrd....releasing these novelty-like songs for the sake of airplay

Well I agree with you in that Fearless was an excellent album and really showed how talented Terri is.
But I also like this song and don't thinks it's fair to call her a novelty singer. This is a straight-up, drinking, country music song. And all her hits have had excellent meaning and messages... I Just Wanna Be Mad....Now That I Found You...Boy Meets Girl...If I Were You...etc. Out of all the women in country music today, she is the only one who never strayed from her country roots during the pop/country years.

I think her Fearless album sucked.
Her current single is ok, but nothing great.
What she really needs is another Now That I Found You. Until that comes along, she's gonna stick to the drinking kind of songs I think.

hmmm.. she needs a more upbeat song... such as I JUST WANNA BE MAD or GIRLS LIE TOO, which, IMO, were her two best songs...
