Picked up Be Here on Tuesday and after a weeks worth of listening, this is one of my albums of the year.
1. Days Go By- Number one start to an awesome album. Speaks for itself.
2. Better Life- My second fav on the album. Describes my situation perfectly. Definite single imo.
3. Making Memories Of Us- Rodney Crowell penned and on the Cherry Bomobs album although I haven't heard it. Excellent song that has single potential. Good love ballad.
4. God's Been Good To Me- The only song Keith wrote by himself. Talks about how God has done so much for him. Could see this as a single but seems like a personal song to keith.
5. The Hard Way- Talks about even though you don't get along you still love someone you love all the time you might have to prove it the hard way by staying beside that person no matter what. Good song. Possible single.
6.You're My Better Half- Talks about no matter what he goes through his wife or girlfriend or what ever is always there to see him through.
7. I Could Fly- Talks about finding that someone that makes you feel like you could fly. Good song.
8. Tonight I Wanna Cry- Very haunting. Talks about finally breaking down and letting it all out. Should be a single but might be to slow if there is such a thing. Excellent song. One of my favs.
9. She's Gotta Be- Talks about regret. My favorite song on the album although it probably won't be a single. It's very different and a little edgy.
10. Nobody Drinks Alone- Definite single. Talks about no matter what you think you never drink alone. You demons and ghosts are always there. A line in the song really sticks out to me and I don't know why "You remember whiskey on your daddy's breath so you always stick to wine." Great line!
11. Country Comfort- Elton John cover. Nothin' special.
12. Live to Love Another Day- Decent song about losing someone but moving on.
13. These Are The Days- Kind of a weired song. Not much to it and ends with the words to Days Go By. Neat close to the album but really not necessary.
Overall I give the album an A. It's hard to pick the singles unless he goes four or five deep. I will have to see what he releases as his second and third singles and the rest should fall into place. What's the deal with there not be a song on the album named after the title of the album? No big deal but just seems weired. Seems like that would only help the sell of the album. An un educated music fan waks in and says I want to by Days Go By by keith urban but there is no such album. Just a thought!
