Rumor is thay Lyric Street released Rushlow and that Dreamworks released both Scotty Emerick and Emerson Drive.
ED getting released is the shocker considering their cd just came out and they have been successful at country radio.

Honestly, ED doesn't surprise me. They were only successful at radio with their first two singles. Everything after that flopped.

I'm surprised by Emerson Drive. I thought they sold decently as well, but I'm too lazy to check at the moment.

I just looked at the year-to-date soundscan sales figures I have on hand (dated 9/26), and Emerson Drive's album that came out in June isn't listed among the Top 100 Country albums. Since the #100 album on the list sold 77,207 copies I can only assume that ED's album has sold less than that, but I don't know their total.

Their first album did decently, no? I honestly don't know. I don't have that info. Sorry.

Emerson Drive are a surprise to me, but not a shock. Ever since Jamie O'Neal got dropped, I haven't been shocked by any record label split. I think Emerson Drive's first album came close to going gold, but hasn't been certified yet.
My guess is that CDJ could be next, since Dress Rehearsal hasn't done all that well in the US (Canada is another story). I hope I'm wrong though.

I agree with someguy, this business is rather crazy as far as contracts and label/artist relations goes.

Jessica Andrews hasn't been dropped has she? How has Sweet Right Here preformed for SHeDaisy?

How has Sweet Right Here preformed for SHeDaisy? It's not selling in huge numbers, but it's doing reasonably well. They're in the middle of the pack. Recently they were back in the Billboard Top 20 Country CD sales chart. It's selling much quicker than their previous effort Knock On The Sky and is on track to pass that CD's sales figures soon.

The new Emerson Drive album is one of the best albums I have heard in years. It is such a shame for this album not to be heard. Also Rushlow waited to long for a second single off of Right Now. It's a decent album but until Littles Texas regroups, Tim Rushlow is done. He has had to many chances that have all flopped. Scotty is no surprise although I like his music, they thought he could ride Toby's coat tail but it didn't work out.
