Zebra's Top 100 - April 5, 2015 - Week 97, Week 15 (Repost)
Better late than never! I plan to not be so tardy with the next one. :) Commentary: Tori Kelly advances from 2-1 with "Nobody Love", which switches places with "Pray To God". "I Really Like You", "Lifted Up (1985)", and "Can't Deny My Love" remain steady at nos 3, 4, and 5, respectively. One of these will be no. 1 this week for sure. "Shots" jumps from 10-6, thus becoming Imagine Dragons' highest charter since "Radioactive" in 2013. Tove Lo finally manages to score a 2nd top ten hit as "Talking Body" jumps from 11-7. "What Kind Of Man" falls 6-8 and "Girl Crush" falls 8-10. Josh Turner scores his 2nd top ten hit this week as "Lay Low" jumps 12-9. He has previously visited this region with "Why Don't We Just Dance". Eight songs enter this week. The highest debut comes from Brothers Osborne with "Stay A Little Longer" at no. 72. Janelle Monae returns with the slightly disappointing "Yoga" at no. 88. "You Know You Like It" bows at no. 95, "Want To Want Me" at no. 96, "Bloodstream" at no. 97, "Country" at no. 98, "Black Mambo" at no. 99, and "Hold My Hand" at no. 100. Oh, and I might do something special after I hit 100 weeks. "Nobody Love": I think I checked this out maybe once before, and listening to it again now, I remember why I didn't bother downloading it The chorus is SUCH a let-down after the awesome buildup with the "I should be more cynical.." bits. Still, you could have WAY worse songs on top. ;) "I Really Like You": Wow, this is turning into a VERY steady hit for you, despite burning on me REAL fast. "Talking Body": Now if we're talking late-bloomer, Tove got a perfect one! Not sure if this is something that you track, but do you know the longest that a song has taken to crack your Top 10? "Sugar" = Top 20 = Very satisfying to see! "Biscuits" = See above. "Desire": I should check this out, since you seem to prefer it to "King", which I quite like. "Ghosttown": So close, and yet still so far from the Top 40. Any thoughts on the video? Or is its meager climb this week an indication of your disappointment? "Lay Me Down": Lay Me UP is more like it! Great jump. Does the lack of John's name indicate that you prefer the Sam-only version? "Want To Want Me": Awesome to see this debut. What's Jason's biggest hit to date on your chart?

YAAASSSS @ "Talking Body" and "Lay Low" in Top 10, Jana Kramer, Nick Jonas, Mickey Guyton, and Reba McEntire in the Top 15, and "Biscuits" in the Top 20!! Glad to also see upward movement for "Raise 'Em Up," "Fly," "Paper Light (Higher)," "Ghosttown," "Worth It," "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools," "Send It on Down," "For a Boy," "My Mistake," and "On to Something Good." Hope they all keep heading up! <3 Love that Mo Pitney debuted this week, too. :) "Here You Come Again" as the #1 recurrent, omg yesssss.

Calvin was number one last week and I missed it!!! :( :( :(
But yay for that! My cheerleading. Not mad at Tori Kelly at all but hope Calvin can take it back or maybe Passion Pit or Imagine Dragons.
Debuts I enjoy: "Hold My Hand", "Black Mambo", "You Know You Like It", "Want To Want Me" YAS!
Yay nice increases for: "Riva", "Say Something", "Don't Wanna Fight", "Karaoke", "The Rhythm", "Believe", "Talking Body", "Shots"!
Decreases that make me sad: "My Type" >:( This recently made a return on my chart, which you would know - if I ever caught up on posting it - so this drop saddens me.
Songs that need to move faster: "Peaches" and "King"
Oh and for recurrents, "Love Of At First Sight" is free of flaws.

And yay for Talking Body, Shots and Sugar each going up 4 spots! :) Nooooo at UF dropping out :'( Thanks Mark G! Yeah I'm kind of sick of it and it's (now over) no. 1 reign. Re: "Talking Body" - I actually think it's "Talking Body". "Lights" took around the same amount of time, iirc. Re: "Sugar" + "Biscuits" - Glad you like them! Re: "Desire" - It's so good. Re: "Ghosttown" - The video was okay, but it's not really a factor in my love for it. It'll take off soon. Re: "Lay Me Down" - I like John's version. but Sam's is better. It'll skyrocket next week. Zebra's Top 100 - April 12, 2015 - Week 98, Week 16
Commentary: #late Brandon Flowers advances from 5-1 this week with "Can't Deny My Love". "Nobody Love" thus falls from 1-2. "Lifted Up (1985)" and "I Really Like You" swap places this week, ranking at nos. 3 and 4, respectively. "Shots" rounds out the top 5 as it moves 6-5. "Pray To God" falls from 2-6. "Lay Low" manages to lift 9-7, officially becoming Turner's highest charting entry. "Talking Body" slips from 7-8. Two new songs enter the top ten this week, and neither artist has scored a top ten hit before, despite the fact that they've charted previously. Nick Jonas jumps 12-9 with "Chains" and Jana Kramer moves 11-10 with "I Got the Boy". It's a rather lax week for debuts, as only 3 songs debut. This is the lowest number of debuts that I've ever had during the top 100 era. I haven't had as much time as I would like to look for new music/to work on this, but hopefully I will soon! Anyways, Hilary Duff claims the top debut as "Sparks" debuts at no. 50. Jordin Sparks debuts with "Double Tap" debut at no. 86, and Kendrick Lamar with "King Kunta" at no. 100. "Can't Deny My Love": Hmmm...this is interesting. I hadn't been following The Killers much in recent years, but this sounds pretty different from anything I remember of theirs.
"Nobody Love": So I still stand by what I said about the chorus...but this has been growing on me regardless. It'd have been EPIC with a proper climax!
"Girl Crush": Seeing this do well on iTunes lately inspired me to check it out again. I don't see it becoming a Paulboard mega-smash, but I do like it.
"Desire": So I ended up listening through their whole Y & Y EP, and "King" is definitely my favorite of the bunch. "Memo" would probably be second. This one's OK.
"Ghosttown" + "Worth It" = Top 40 = Awesome!
"Sparks": I'm a little sad that she abandoned the sound of "Chasing The Sun" + "All About You" in favor of this, but I like it well enough. Could you refresh my memory: how did those two "buzz" singles do here?
"Right Here, Right Now": Ha, this one just can't seem to take off - but at least it's hanging in there! I kind of forgot about it after a week or two, so I'm glad that you're still showing it some love.
Awesome to see "Deeper And Deeper" atop your Recurrents! Possibly...probably...my favorite Madonna track from the '90's (oh, though I think "Vogue" was 1990, so 2nd fave.) Looks like you were in an Emotions mood too! :)

Well "Lay Low" is just about finished on the MB and Billboard charts, so I'm now just rooting for it on Nick's chart your chart Zeebz. :) Come on top 5, so close.

"I Got the Boy" is in the Top 10!!! Yes, yes, yes!!!! Same for "Lay Low" and "Chains." Nice to see Mickey Guyton inching closer as well. ;) Great to see upward movement for Reba, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Maddie & Tae, Tim McGraw, Ciara, Lee Ann Womack, and RaeLynn. Also love that Madonna and Fifth Harmony broke into the Top 40 this week, too! <3 And major love to that debut for Hilary Duff's new song. Some great country nostalgia in your recurrent list, too. Love the Trisha selections and "Every Light in the House," "Forever and for Always, and "When You Say Nothing At All."

Re: "Girl Crush" - I saw it debuted, so I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying it. Re: "Desire" - "Desire" is by and far my favorite, haha. Re: "Sparks" - Oh same. "All About You" smashed its way to no. 4 but "Chasing The Sun" failed to chart because I was busy charting "All About You" and I somehow forgot about it? Re: "Right Here, Right Now" - I keep forgetting about it also, and that's probably why it isn't taking off. Re: "Deeper and Deeper" - It's now my favorite but it's certainly in my top ten from Madonna in the 90s. Thanks Paul! <3 Well "Lay Low" is just about finished on the MB and Billboard charts, so I'm now just rooting for it on Nick's chart your chart Zeebz. :) Come on top 5, so close. Zebra's Top 100 - April 19, 2015 - Week 99, Week 17
Commentary: Brandon Flowers manages to hold at no. 1 for a 2nd week with "Can't Deny My Love". The last male-fronted no. 1 to spend at least 2 weeks at the summit was "I'm Not The Only One". "Nobody Love" holds at no. 2. Imagine Dragons advance from 5-3 with "Shots". They've only charted higher twice, as both "It's Time" and "Radioactive" hit no. 1. Sam Smith and John Legend blast into the top ten with "Lay Me Down", which moves 49-4. It thus makes one of the largest moves into the top ten and the largest I can remember since... "Addicted To You"? "Addicted To You" blasted from 73-2 around this time last year. Anyways, it's the 2nd top ten entry for both parties. "Lifted Up (1985)" and "I Really Like You" slip from 3-5 and 4-6, respectively. "Lay Low" holds at no. 7. "Chains" advances from 9-8, and "Pray To God" slips 6-10. The 2nd top ten entry this week comes from Reba McEntire. "Going Out Like That" jumps 14-9, thus becoming her 1st top ten entry. If the chart had more history she would surely have had more, but alas it does not. I believe this makes Reba the oldest artist to score a solo top ten hit and the 2nd oldest overall after Paul McCartney. Eight songs debut/re-enter this week, which is an obvious improvement of the meager three of last week. Life Of Dillon scores the highest debut with "Overload" at no. 72. Rihanna scores yet another entry this week as "American Oxygen" debuts at no. 79. Rihanna otherwise jumps 31-26 with "Bitch Better Have My Money" and drops 24-33 with "FourFiveSeconds". Rachel Platten debuts at no. 86 with "Fight Song". Twenty One Pilots debut at no. 87 with "Tear In My Heart". Both score their 1st entries this week. "Lean On" debuts at no. 95. Omarion and co. debut at no. 97 with "Post To Be". It thus becomes Omarion's 1st chart entry (he would've charted with "Ice Box" had my chart started earlier). Carly Rae Jepsen debuts at no. 98 with "All That". "Where Are U Now" is the final debut at no. 99. Bieber hasn't charted since "Beauty And A Beat", if I recall correctly. Oh, and next week marks 100 weeks of posting my chart on Pulse! I'm still figuring out what I'm going to do for it, so be on the lookout for that. :) Zebra's Top 100 - April 19, 2015 LW: TW: WK: PK: WOP: Song: Artist:01 01 04 01 (2) "Can't Deny My Love" - Brandon Flowers (2nd Week at No. 1)02 02 10 01 (1) "Nobody Love" - Tori Kelly05 03 08 03 (1) "Shots" - Imagine Dragons49 04 04 04 (1) "Lay Me Down" - Sam Smith & John Legend03 05 09 03 (1) "Lifted Up (1985)" - Passion Pit 04 06 08 01 (2) "I Really Like You" - Carly Rae Jepsen 07 07 16 07 (2) "Lay Low" - Josh Turner09 08 10 08 (1) "Chains" - Nick Jonas14 09 15 09 (1) "Going Out Like That" - Reba McEntire06 10 18 01 (1) "Pray To God" - Calvin Harris ft. I have a feeling that "Stay A Little Longer" by Brothers Osborne will go pretty far. :)

Shots made the top 3, Lay Me Down vaulted into the top 5, Chains reaches a new peak, Worth It is in the top 40, YKYLI in top 60, and Where Are U Now debuts! Good work, HOWEVER... I've noticed your PK and WK sections are out of order. You have LW, TW, PK, WK, and WOP in that order, but your chart is showing me LW, TW, WK, PK, and WOP. Might wanna just switch the two around, just a heads up. Oh, and next week marks 100 weeks of posting my chart on Pulse! I'm still figuring out what I'm going to do for it, so be on the lookout for that. :) May I suggest an all time chart? That's exactly what I'll be doing this weekend. Come this Friday, my own chart will have logged 2 full years of charts. All those charts and a scaled list of my favorites from Jan-Apr 2013 are included, basically, it's the best of the best from the last 28 months. It's up to you what you'll do to celebrate that moment, but it's just a suggestion. Great chart Zebra! And congrats ahead of time for almost reaching a great milestone with your personal chart.

Sad that Jana Kramer is already out of the Top 10. Such a short-lived stay. :'( But yay @ Reba being the one to replace her! At least her spot went to another great song. Now I just need Mickey to get there next. <3 Awesome jumps for Madonna, Hilary Duff, and Jordin Sparks! Nice start for RaeLynn and I love the debut for "American Oxygen." I liked the first two singles, but Rihanna's new track is easily my favorite of the three. <3

Yes @ 'Can't Deny My Love' with a second week at No. 1! We may have the same No. 1 soon enough! Nice move for Madonna and holy shite @ Sam Smith. What a jump! Great chart this week!

"Lay Me Down": Whaaaattt? You did mention that this would skyrocket soon, but I wasn't expecting SUCH a jump! Wow. Looks like the duet version has become your favorite? I do enjoy pretending like they're singing to each other. <3
"I Really Like You": So this finally leaves the Top 5...but only barely! #stanhard
"Ghosttown": Ooh, this is really picking up the pace now!
"Sparks" = Top 40 = Awesome! Though it hurts my heart to learn that CTS never even cracked your chart.
"Right Here, Right Now" = Top 70 = Lovely!
"American Oxygen": I'm getting a little burnt out on underwhelming pre-release material from her (in addition to the 3 Home tracks), so this one probably won't be doing much on my chart. It looks like you're having a similar reaction at this point? Seeing as this debuted much, much lower than FFS and even BBHMM.
"Want To Want Me": Hmmm...this is off to a VERY slow start, sir.
"All That" = No. 98 = Ouch. I might take back what I said about you stanning hard. Is this the official second single, or just a pre-release track? I like it, but I hope it's not the official follow-up to IRLY. I'm definitely down for her releasing something more serious, but this one seems a bit too slow/dull for radio.
Looks like you took a machete to your Recurrent chart?

Glad you like those! Thanks for catching my mistake! You may! I was already considering posting one later this year after I compile all of my older charts (since 2009). I think I'm going to do a 100 weeks countdown also. The all-time chart will be it's own thread and a much bigger deal, haha. Thanks JL44! :) I hope Shots can go number one and great debut for Twenty One Pilots. Great chart! :) We'll see! Thanks Shoosh! <3 Sad that Jana Kramer is already out of the Top 10. "American Oxygen" is quickly becoming my favorite also. Thanks, Indie! <3 Yes @ 'Can't Deny My Love' with a second week at No. 1! We may have the same No. 1 soon enough! Re: "Sparks" - I just couldn't get into it in time. :( Re: "American Oxygen" - I wouldn't count it out just yet. I'm actually really loving this era, haha. Still need that hot jam though! Re: "All That" - It's kind of boring, haha. I hope it isn't the single Re: Recurrents - Eh, just didn't have any time to listen to anything that week. It's back in form. Thanks Paul! <3
