Zebra's Top 100 - April 26, 2015 - Week 100, Week 18
Commentary: 100 weeks! I'll probably start a countdown soon. Anyways, Brandon Flowers remains at no. 1 for a 3rd week with "Can't Deny My Love". Flowers's lead is not by much, however, as "Lay Me Down" jumps 4-2. "Lay Me Down" is Sam's 2nd top 2 entry. "I'm Not The Only One" peaked at no. 1. "Shots" holds steady at no. 3 while "Nobody Love" slips 2-4. "Believe" jumps 12-5, thus becoming Mumford & Sons' highest charting entry. "Girl Crush" manages to rebound 16-6, and it looks to be staying here for a while. Mickey Guyton moves 11-7 with "Better Than You Left Me". Reba inches 9-8 with "Going Out Like That". "Lay Low" slips from 7-9 (sorry Sabre!) and "I Really Like You" tumbles from 6-10. Elsewhere on the chart, things start to pick up again after a brief lull. "Biscuits" and "Raise 'Em Up" are on the verge of becoming top ten entries, as they move 17-13 and 19-14, respectively. Five new songs enter the top twenty. "The Rhythm" leads the pack as it moves from 21-16. Rihanna claims two new top twenty hits this week, as "Bitch Better Have My Money" moves from 26-17 and "American Oxygen" blasts from 79-18. "American Oxygen" is the greatest gainer this week. "Don't Wanna Fight" inches from 22-19, thus becoming the 1st top twenty hit for Alabama Shakes. "Desire" wraps up the new entries as it vaults from 32-20. Eight songs debut this week. The highest debut comes from newcomer Billie Black as she enters at no. 31 with "I Don't Need Another Lover". I expect it to become a huge hit. Zac Brown Band scores the next highest debut at no. 66 with "Loving You Easy". It's their highest charting entry since "Goodbye In Her Eyes". Passion Pit and Charli XCX finally chart follow-ups to their top ten hits as "Until We Can't (Let's Go)" and "Famous" debut at numbers 86 and 87, respectively. Walk The Moon also scores a follow-up hit as "Different Colors" debuts at no. 92. "Wet Dreamz" debuts at no. 94, "Let It Burn" debuts at no. 95, and "Black and White" debuts at no. 100. "Black and White" is Billie's 2nd debut this week as I'm obsessed with her EP. Expect the other 2 to join the fray soon. The recurrents section is a little longer than usual this week. I decided to make it so many positions because last week's was so small and because this week I listened to more recurrents than usual. Apparently I was on an 80's kick this week. Imagine Dragons and Brandon Flowers both in the Top 3 is good to see. Hope Kendrick, Glass Animals, Walk The Moon, and Jason Derulo can rise out of the bottom 10. I'm happy AWOLNATION continues to rise about halfway through the chart, and there are a bunch of other tracks I'm rooting for like Karaoke, Don't Wanna Fight, Hold Back The River, Psycho, and Tear In My Heart.
Great chart Zebra! :)

Positions 6-9 in your Top 10 are glorious! Love that Mickey made it in there and that rebound for "Girl Crush" is great. <3 Now I'm hoping for Kacey and Keith/Eric to make it there next. Love the double dose of Rihanna in the Top 20 (awesome jump for "American Oxygen"!) and seeing positive chart movement for "Ghosttown," "Sparks," "Double Tap," "Worth It," "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools," "For a Boy," "My Mistake," and "On to Something Good." :)

Glad to see Mickey move up four spots to #7, though she clearly benefited from some songs starting to go down (including "Lay Low").
But "Girl Crush" was an obvious winner this week. What a jump, all the way to #6.
Great chart Zebra. :)

"Lay Me Down": Wow, never would've thought this would turn into a serious No. 1 contender! I haven't played it much myself in a while, but I'd still rather see it on top than CDML. "I Really Like You": Oops, hope I haven't gone and jinxed this one! Even if it does finally exit the Top 10, it's had a really strong run, especially for a song that could burn on people really quickly. BBHMM + "American Oxygen": Looks like these both really clicked with you all of a sudden! Maybe I should give AO more of a chance. Meanwhile, poor (superior) FFS takes a tumble. "Ghosttown": Nice jump for this one! It's really putting LFL to shame now (and deservedly so.) "King" = Top 50 = Awesome. Still trailing waaayy behind "Desire", but I'm glad that you're still showin' it at least some love. "Fight Song": I've been really into this one lately, so hopefully it has a bright future here! Shame on me for not noticing and commenting on its debut last week - granted, there's always so many distracting gems on your chart. "Want To Want Me": LOL @ this one's run so far. You won't drop it, but you can't really get into it either. C'est la vie...

Honorable Mentions:There's simply too many songs that I felt should make the cut (I still feel like I'm leaving too many things out, oh well), so here goes: Song: Artist: Year Charted/Impacted: Commentary 225. "Am I Wrong" - Nico & Vinz (2014): I didn't care for this at first, but it quickly grew on me and became an early summer hit. It hit no. 8 but it quickly burnt on me due to overplay. I'm rather indifferent to it now. 224. "Mountain Sound" - Of Monsters & Men (2013): I debated on whether or not to include songs that had already peaked by the time that I began my chart, but I ultimately decided to. "Mountain Sound" was an instant love and a worthy follow-up to "Little Talks". I would've loved to have seen it take off, but regardless it remains fantastic. 223. "Come A Little Closer" - Cage The Elephant (2013/14): I didn't really discover this one until the summer of 2014 (thanks year end videos!). At that point I felt that it was a tad late to chart it, but I should have. It's a pleasant listen with a chorus that gets caught in my head for days. 222. "Afraid" - The Neighbourhood (2014): It took The Neighbourhood until late 2014 to score a follow-up hit to "Sweater Weather", which had become a hit the year prior. "Afraid" managed to grow on me really late and to end up peaking at no. 12. I Love You is fantastic and I definitely should have charted this sooner. 221. "Brooklyn Baby" - Lana Del Rey (2015): Speaking of late bloomers, the 3rd charting entry from Ultraviolence took a while to actually gain enough traction to re-enter after it fell out after a one-week stint. Eventually it did, however, and it wound up peaking at no. 18. It definitely ranks among Lana's best. 220. "Keep It To Yourself" - Kacey Musgraves (2014/15): Same Trailer Different Park remains one of my favorite albums and the singles were all fantastic. This is my least favorite of the bunch, but that's not saying much. The theme is certainly relatable, as it is Musgraves' address to an ex that she doesn't want to hear remorseful thoughts from. We'll see Musgraves twice more, but not in the form of "Biscuits" (still growing on me). 219. "Chains" - Nick Jonas (2015): I never expected to like a Nick Jonas solo single as much as I love this one. I enjoyed "Jealous" also, but overplay killed it for me so it got stuck with a no. 31 peak. Fortunately "Chains" managed to give him his 1st top ten hit as it peaked at no. 8. 218. "The Mother We Share" - CHVRCHES (2013): I always liked this one, but it never could break into my top 50. It's definitely a contributing factor as to why I expanded to a top 100. I just love CHVRCHES' sound. 217. "Move" - Little Mix (2014): While not as memorable as "Wings" or "DNA", "Move" still manages to be a fun listen. It soared to no. 5 in early 2014 due to consistent exposure from a friend. 216. "Dear Future Husband" - Meghan Trainor (2014): Despite the fact that Meghan Trainor is one of my least favorite artists out there right now, I loved the retro sound to this. It managed to peak at no. 12 before it was released as a single. The is the 1st and most likely last time that Trainor will make one of my countdowns. 215. "Hurricane" - MS MR (2013): A rather recent discovery that I can attribute to Spotify, it's a pleasant listen each and every time I get to hear it. I don't have much to say about it, but it's great. 214. "Something I Need" - OneRepublic (2013): "Something I Need" managed to peak at no. 14 while "Counting Stars" was still going strong elsewhere. I just love the chorus. Oh, and let's not mention the Ben Haenow cover. 213. "The Pressure" - Jhené Aiko (2014): God I love Jhené. Her voice is one of my favorites out there right now. "The Pressure" managed to become her 2nd top ten hit as it peaked at no. 8. I still need to chart something else by her. 212. "Can't Rely On You" - Paloma Faith (2014): 2014 was quite a big year for Paloma. It took "Only Love Could Hurt Like This" smashing for this to click with me, but once it did it quickly became one of my favorites. Pharrell's production complements her vocals well her, and together they create a fun listening experience. Also, it helps that this is relatable as I've had partners that I just couldn't rely on, haha. It peaked at no. 19. 211. "Got It" - Marian Hill (2015): As is the case with many of the songs on this list, I discovered this gem through Invince. It's quirky and makes for an interesting listen. It peaked at no. 12 earlier this year. 210. "Your Love" - Nicole Scherzinger (2014): This didn't impress me much back when it was current, so unfortunately it was stuck with a less than stellar peak. Recently, however, I kept hearing it randomly and it grew on me. The chorus is so infectious, even if it is just a bunch of "oohs". Scherzinger is rather hit or miss with me, but this is definitely a hit. 209. "Waiting All Night" - Rudimental ft. Ella Eyre (2013/14): The combination of Rudimental's fresh production and Eyre's soulful vocals made this an instant love. It managed to peak at no. 17, albeit over 2 years after "Feel The Love" managed to hit no. 1. Still, it remains near flawless in it's execution. 208. "Bubble Butt" - Major Lazer ft. Bruno Mars, Tyga, and Mystic (2013): Guilty pleasure for sure. Never charted it due to loathing it at the time, but it's catchy. 207. "Retrograde" - James Blake (2013): Soulful gem that I discovered through year-end lists. It's such a shame that I heard this after it was too late to actually chart it. 206. "Human" - Christina Perri (2014): The lyrics are what really help "Human" to stand out. The self-empowerment genre may be cliche at this point, but this manages to not sound cliche, if that makes any sense. Her vocals in the chorus are brilliant. This peaked at no. 6. 205. "Something Big" - Shawn Mendes (2015): "Life Of The Party" bored me to no end but something about this one made it stick. I'll attribute its success to its chorus that worms its way into your head. It quickly rose to no. 11 but it had a rather sharp descent. 204. "Acapella" - Karmin (2013): Quite easily the biggest hit in the honorable mentions section, this entry actually made it all of the way to no. 1. It's fun, catchy, and it has all of the makings for a summer hit - which it was. It had one of the quickest trips to no. 1 but unfortunately it burnt on me rather quickly and it ended up only spending 14 weeks on. It ranks this low because I never listen to it anymore (I tend to forget that I even sent it to no. 1), but I suppose it has a better fate than the four chart toppers that didn't make it ("Shake It Off", "Dark Horse", "Blank Space", and "Heart Hypnotic" - listed from least favorite to most). 203. "Talk Dirty" - Jason Derulo ft. 2 Chainz (2014): "Talk Dirty" is possibly my favorite Jason Derulo song, but that's not hard to do as most of his songs have burnt on me rather quickly. Fortunately for him this one never did. It raced to no. 5 202. "Love Don't Die" - The Fray (2014): "Love Don't Die" is my favorite song from The Fray since at least "Never Say Never". Everything from "Never" to this fell flat for me. This managed to hit no. 9. 201. "Ordinary Love" - U2 (2014): I'm a fan of a lot of U2's older material, but I've never really sought out any of their newer material. Judging from this perhaps I should. It managed to peak at no. 6. Also, ily Rocky. Thanks for your enthusiasm! :)

Zebra's Top Songs Of The First 100 Weeks: 200-181
...and so it begins! Just a refresher, this list covers every week of charting between June 2013 to current day. Thanks for all of the feedback so far (likes, posts, views, etc.)! I really appreciate it. Y'all make this even more fun than it already is! Song: Artist: Year Charted/Impacted: Commentary 200. "Often" - The Weeknd (2014): The Weeknd's voice definitely sold this for me. Some of the lyrics are a tad vulgar but I don't pay attention to those here anyways. It managed to peak at no. 7 in the awkward transition between 2014 and 2015 so it narrowly missed out on my year end list for '14.
199. "Talking Body" - Tove Lo (2015): As most of you know, "Habits" was a MASSIVE smash on my chart. Tove wasn't able to score a follow-up hit until this came along. "Not On Drugs" definitely deserved a top ten peak but I never gave it one and "Heroes (We Could Be)" is rather generic. "Talking Body", however, is a legit jam. It's so catchy and I definitely can't help but sing along each time I hear it. It also has one of the weirdest chart runs in recent history as it took almost 20 week to crack the top ten (it peaked at no. 7).
198. "Stolen Dance" - Milky Chance (2014): Speaking of sleeper hits, "Stolen Dance" took ages to finally peak at no. 11. For some reason it never really clicked with me until its run was close to being over (it peaked and then fell off quickly) but it never burned on me in that time. Currently I love it and I wish that I had given it at least one week in my top 10.
197. "Sledgehammer" - Fifth Harmony (2015): The pop smash that never was. It's quite easily their best and it was the song that made Fifth Harmony click with me. I had loved "Bo$$" but I wasn't too impressed with anything off of their EP. With an infectious chorus that instantly got stuck in my head and a friend who kept playing it, "Sledgehammer" managed to give them their first top ten hit as it peaked at no. 3. It remains a jam, but it hasn't had too much recurrent play with me.
196. "You Haunt Me" - Sir Sly (2014): Love love love Sir Sly. I was hooked as soon as I heard "Gold" for the first time and this only caused me to love them even more. I especially love the vocals on this one. It definitely experienced a lot of play while I was doing homework and that helped it to coast all of the way to no. 12.
195. "Magic" - Coldplay (2014): Ghost Stories is brilliant, but lead single "Magic" took a while to grow on me. I liked it immediately but I didn't love it like I was hoping to. That quickly changed and it managed to peak at no. 11. I love the production. It's still not my favorite single from the album (2 more to come!), but it's fantastic regardless.
194. "I Want It All" - Karmin (2014): "I Want It All" manages to outrank "Acapella" despite peaking one rung lower at no. 2. It's definitely a fun listen but like its predecessor I always manage to forget it. Still, it is my favorite Karmin single to date. I love the disco-esque production.
193. "Girl In A Country Song" - Maddie & Tae (2014): "Girl In A Country Song" was such a refreshing country hit in a landscape full of bro country and trite radio filler (hopefully this changes!). I love how sassy it is and the interpolation of the various bro country hits that it ridicules is effective. It's a shame that I only let this one peak at no. 19 because it definitely deserved higher.
192. "Boom Boom (Heartbeat)" - Ray Foxx ft. Rachel K. Collier (2013): I still don't remember where I first heard this from, but it remains great. I was obsessed upon first listen and that resulted in a rather quick trip to no. 3. Overplay killed it, though, and it ended up falling out after like 13 weeks or so. Afterwards I kind of forgot about it until mid-2014 and then I remembered exactly why I fell in love with it in the first place. Collier's vocals are great and this is so much fun to dance to. This brings me right back to my first semester of college and that's part of the reason why I'm doing this countdown: to relive the past 2 years musically.
191. "Digital Witness" - St. Vincent (2014): A quirky jam that deserved a much better peak than it actually received (no. 47). I didn't fully appreciate it until months after it wrapped up its run, but it stands among the highlights of 2014 for sure.
190. "Raise 'Em Up" - Keith Urban ft. Eric Church (2015): "Raise 'Em Up" is a simple song about raising things up, but it's such a relaxing listen. It has absolutely no burn rate. It's currently sitting outside of my top ten at no. 14 and it'll likely jump into the top ten in the coming weeks. Keith and Eric sound so good together here. Fuse is my favorite Keith Urban era in quite a while, and we'll see one more entry from the album later.
189. "Wagon Wheel" - Darius Rucker (2013): This technically peaked right before my chart started, but I couldn't leave it off. It's forever associated with that summer due to play at Senior events (including prom). I often forget that I started my chart the week after graduation, haha. I slightly prefer the Old Crow Medicine Show version, but Rucker's cover is also excellent.
188. "What Kind Of Man" - Florence + the Machine (2015): Florence + the Machine is one of my favorite acts. I was highly anticipating their return and I wasn't disappointed. I love when it picks up the pace and seemingly explodes. It doesn't touch some of the moments of Ceremonials, but honestly what could? It comes pretty damn close. It peaked at no. 6 earlier this year.
187. "Bang Bang" - Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj (2014): I can never decide if I'm a Jessie J fan or not. If you had asked me during the Who You Are era my answer would have been a definite yes (I think she had like 4 top ten hits that era), but her material in between that and this left much to be desired. This star-studded collaboration was definitely a step in the right direction, though. It remains a jam and is so much fun to sing along to while driving. It quickly made its way to a no. 4 peak and it has held up really well despite its rather short chart run.
186. "The Walker" - Fitz & the Tantrums (2013/4): I slept on this one for a while but its upbeat nature made it a perfect song for the summer, which is when it charted. Like many of the other songs that made this list, it peaked too low for me to be content with it. It remains a fun song to jam to, but it pales in comparison to "Out Of My League" (we'll see it later) and previous material from them.
185. "Let Go For Tonight" - Foxes (2014): "Youth" is such an underrated jam that I never gave a proper run, but I still prefer "Let Go For Tonight". I love how explosive the chorus is. It is definitely fun to sing along to. "Let Go For Tonight" peaked at no. 3 shortly after I expanded to a top 100.
184. "Heartbeat Song" - Kelly Clarkson (2015): Despite the fact that this is far from being my favorite off of Piece By Piece, it is still a strong lead single with a chorus that is not easy to forget. It managed to debut in my top ten and peak at no. 3. Kelly's vocals are strong here, as per usual.
183. "Faded" - Zhu (2014): I love the distorted vocals on this one. It perfectly captures the sound that was dominating my chart in summer 2014. It still remains fun, but I tend to forget about it. It peaked at no. 4.
182. "Better Than You Left Me" - Mickey Guyton (2015): "Better Than You Left Me" is a lowkey anthem about being better off without an ex. Despite the fact that I was the one who ended my previously (poor) relationship, this still is applicable to me as I feel like I'm so much better off without her. This seemed to come at the perfect time to capture my thoughts on the matter. I'll end the sappiness here, but this song is definitely aided by Mickey's strong vocals. I also love the lyrics "now I love deeper and I laugh a little bit louder, I smile brighter and I fly higher" because they seem to encapsulate so much joy. It is currently at no. 7, and I expect that it'll go even higher.
181. "***Flawless" - Beyoncé ft. Chimimanda Ngozi Adichie or Nicki Minaj (2013/4): Queen Bey had to appear sometime, didn't she? As could be expected, she still has 6 entries to come. Anyways, "***Flawless" was one of the earliest standouts on Beyoncé and it remains one of my favorites. It never fails to pump me up. I was so excited that it became a single and that it was treated to a remix with Nicki (it's pretty great, by the way, but the original is better). It peaked at no. 7.

225. "Am I Wrong" - Nico & Vinz (2014): Sad to see you've burnt out on/grown apathetic towards this (granted, I don't think I've played it once in months either), but I'm glad that you loved it at one point. Though I guess you aren't COMPLETELY indifferent, since it managed to make this list? Speaking of - do you know how many songs in total have charted over the past 2 years? I'm just wondering if these 225 picks represent basically every hit ever, or if this is actually a small, elite group of songs compared to the XXX (or X,XXX) total that have made your chart.
219. "Chains" - Nick Jonas (2015): I'm still a bit surprised that you much prefer this to "Jealous" (were you listening to the regular, uncensored version? that might help), but it's great to see Captain Hunkypants charting at all, of course. <3
216. "Dear Future Husband" - Meghan Trainor (2014): One of your LEAST FAVORITE ARTISTS OUT RIGHT NOW? Of ALL the people on the planet recording music right now, SHE'S one of the ones you find MOST offensive? I feel like I should've known about these feelings of yours by now...but maybe I just blocked them out? Any rate, that aside, I'm glad to see you're able to appreciate this gem. I'm really glad it was able to get her another Top 20 Hot 100 hit. #3hitwonderftw
203. "Talk Dirty" - Jason Derulo ft. 2 Chainz (2014): Ah, now I understand why WTWM is performing the way it is right now. Still, I'm definitely thankful that this was able to become an exception for him.
199. "Talking Body" - Tove Lo (2015): Yup, this is definitely a jam. I'm glad it became a sleeper hit for ya.
197. "Sledgehammer" - Fifth Harmony (2015): This is my favorite single of theirs too (though I did enjoy "Miss Movin' On" and currently enjoy "Worth It." "BO$$" is OK, almost feels more like a novelty hit.)
187. "Bang Bang" - Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj (2014): I wanted to love this one (since I LOVE Ari, and like Nicki + Jessie well enough), but I just never got into it. The chorus/hook just didn't do it for me, and it didn't help that Ari was releasing much better material of her own at the same time.
184. "Heartbeat Song" - Kelly Clarkson (2015): Nice to see this show up! I'm pretty burnt out on it right now, but for a while it really grew on me in a way I hadn't expected when I first heard it. It definitely won't go down as one of my all-time-favorite singles of hers, but it's plenty likable.

Very nice diversity and taste as usual with your countdown here, but it's especially nice to see some Billie Black appreciation here. Her EP is great I agree, but for me the star of the show from it definitely "I Don't Need Another Lover". A little side note that if you like her? You might want to check out some of Sasha Keable's music too. She has two free EP's she's released that I'm sure you would dig quite a lot.

I'll respond to comments on my actual chart when I post that, but for now thanks for all of the feedback! I appreciate it! :) Am I Wrong, Brooklyn Baby, Chains, and Human!!! Glad you like those! Thanks! :) Yay! Glad that you're following! :) 225. "Am I Wrong" - Nico & Vinz (2014): Sad to see you've burnt out on/grown apathetic towards this (granted, I don't think I've played it once in months either), but I'm glad that you loved it at one point. It definitely won't go down as one of my all-time-favorite singles of hers, but it's plenty likable. Re: "Am I Wrong" - I'm actually not sure, but I know that it's a lot. I had 400-450 contenders for my 2014 year end chart alone and that didn't even account for everything that charted that year. Factor in 2013 and 2015 and I would have to guess that it's around 650-700? I'll actually have to count now - I'm interested! Regardless this countdown isn't every hit ever, and it's a very small chunk when you consider the charts that predate these 100 weeks. Re: "Chains" - Yeah, I was lol. Idk "Jealous" was okay but it didn't stick with me the way that "Chains" did. Re: "Dear Future Husband" - She's not my least favorite, just one of them. Maybe it's just her single choices that I don't like? Or maybe it's the overplay. All I know is that "All About That Bass" and "Lips Are Movin'" both burned on me quickly. Re: "Heartbeat Song" - Far from Kelly's best, and even far from the best on Piece By Piece, but her discography is typically strong. Thanks Paul! <3 Very nice diversity and taste as usual with your countdown here, but it's especially nice to see some Billie Black appreciation here. Her EP is great I agree, but for me the star of the show from it definitely "I Don't Need Another Lover". A little side note that if you like her? You might want to check out some of Sasha Keable's music too. She has two free EP's she's released that I'm sure you would dig quite a lot. Kudos to you for helping me discover Billie! I was randomly checking last.fm one day and I saw that you had listened to "I Don't Need Another Lover" and then I decided to listen and was hooked. Her whole EP is fantastic, and I definitely agree that "I Don't Need Another Lover" is the star. "Black & White" isn't too far behind, and then I guess that "I Waited For You" is my 3rd favorite? I'm not sure though because they're all fantastic! Regardless, "I Don't Need Another Lover" and her EP in general should fare extremely well over the course of the next few weeks (and I've included one on my actual countdown). It's brilliant. Also, I'm currently listening to the Black Book EP and it's fantastic. Thanks for stopping by Elle! Your kind words and superb recommendations are very appreciated! <3

Ok, let me try to get back into the swing of things here. I am only going to comment on your chart but please note that I am LOVING your other countdown.
Your top 5 is perfect. Well, I'm not the biggest fan of "Can't Deny My Love" for some reason - I don't take exception to it, it just hasn't fully resonated with me which is quite strange as I have always loved The Killers but it is what it is. "Shots" for next #1 do it, yes, cool, thanks!
"The Rhythm" and "Desire" are moving up quite nicely - wonderful! Karen Harding keeps plugging away - get after it Ms. Karen!
Also glad to see steady progress for "Hold Back The River", "You Know You Like It", "Cecilia and the Satellite", "Hold My Hand", "Riva" and "Peaches". Lots of fun debuts this week! That Billie Black - digging it!
Sad that "Right Here, Right Now" only managed a peak of 68 :(
"The Rose" as your #1 recurrent.

Zebra's Top Songs Of The First 100 Weeks: 180-161 As this goes on it gets harder and harder to eliminate things, haha. Hope you enjoy! 180. “Don’t Tell ‘Em” – Jeremih ft. YG (2014): Every once in a while Jeremih will come along and deliver a song that I can’t help but jam out to. This was immediately aided by its interpolation of “Rhythm Is A Dancer”. Also, I’m a sucker for DJ Mustard productions. Oops. It peaked at no. 7. 179. “Day Drinking” – Little Big Town (2014): Little Big Town has been one of my favorite country groups ever since I first heard “Boondocks”, but after Tornado I was highly anticipating their next release. That turned out to be “Day Drinking”, a breezy ode to well, day drinking. It took a while for me to fully get into it and that prevented it from even making my top 40 when it actually deserves to be a top ten hit. They manage to finally score another proper smash with their next single, which is still to come. Still, it remains a go to listen for when I want to chill and day drinking is always fun. 178. “Up In The Air” – Thirty Seconds To Mars (2013): This peaked slightly before I began my chart, but I still love it all through the fall so it definitely deserves a place here. The chorus gets stuck in my head each and every time I hear it. Also, I really love the single cover (if you couldn’t tell from my avatar). 177. “God Made Girls” – RaeLynn (2014): Indulge always provides some of the best country recommendations! This received a lot of disdain from country posters here due to RaeLynn’s voice, but that never really bothered me. I interpreted this as being about couples bringing out the best in each other. It peaked at no. 3 in late 2014. 176. “Waiting Game” – BANKS (2014): Like “Day Drinking”, “Waiting Game” took ages to grow on me and it also missed my top 40. BANKS’ vocals help to give this a chilly feeling that’s oh so great. Constant exposure from my BANKS-obsessed roommate has helped me to appreciate it even further. 175. “A Sky Full Of Stars” – Coldplay (2014): Chris Martin’s vocals complement Avicii’s production really well and together they create a summer anthem with a chorus that is inescapable. It managed to peak at no. 14 and had great longevity. I love how successful this became for them, though, and they should’ve had more success with the other singles off of Ghost Stories. 174. “Heavy Metal And Reflective” – Azealia Banks (2014): I love Azealia Banks. I discovered this one thanks to Josh. The strange production really made it stand out to me and Azealia’s flow is as smooth as always. There’s better moments on Broke With Expensive Taste (two of which are to come), but “Heavy Metal And Reflective” is still a stellar lead single and served to make me anticipate the album even further. It peaked at no. 6. 173. “High” – Peking Duk ft. Nicole Millar (2014): Shoutout to Ry4n for helping me to discover this one! I love the production and Millar’s vocals. It became a no. 2 hit in the fall. I don’t have much to say about this one, but it makes for an interesting listen nonetheless. 172. “Going Out Like That” – Reba McEntire (2015): Reba is one of the greatest country artists ever, and when I heard that she was coming back with a new single I was ecstatic. She didn’t disappoint. “Going Out Like That” is a triumphant anthem in which the narrator goes through a breakup but she doesn’t go out easily. This could apply to Reba also, as she’s still here and going strong 40 years later. It became her biggest hit on my chart as it peaked at no. 8. Also, it prompted me to revisit Reba’s older hits and it made me realize just how much I love and appreciate her. 171. “Sail” – AWOLNATION (2013): Ha! This has had like 5 chart runs since 2011. I debated about whether or not I should include this as it was way past its peak when I began my chart, but it remained in rotation over the course of my Freshman year. Nowadays I hardly ever listen to it, but I can’t deny the fact that it was absolutely massive. 170. “Benediction” – Hot Natured (2014): A random discovery in late 2014 that was overshadowed by both “Shake It Off” and “Comeback”, it managed to debut in the top 15 and to peak at no. 2. I was obsessed with this when I first heard it. I overplayed it quickly, though, and that led to its rapid descent down the chart. It still remains fun though! Also, it’s hard to believe that this debuted in like the first week of my being back at college. Crazy how time flies. 169. “You Are My Pride” – Nora En Pure (2014): The combination of Marvin Gaye and deep house makes for a damn good song. Gaye’s soulful vocals and romantic lyrics made this an instant stand out, and the production made me always come back to it. It had a rather quick rise to no. 4. I don’t play it as often as I used to, but it remains a jam. 168. “Cops And Robbers” – Bean (2013/4): This never grows old. It’s still just as fun as when I first heard it. The “bang bang bang” part is so catchy and inescapable. This feels perfect for summer, haha. Bean’s vocals are rather nice. I regret that I never sent this to the top ten. It only managed to peak at no. 12. 167. “Secrets” – Mary Lambert ft. B.o.B. (2014): I love “Secrets”. It’s nice to hear someone embracing their flaws instead of trying to be perfect all of the time. It’s definitely encouraging. This manages to do so in such a fun way, and thus it became a go-to listen in the fall. It managed to peak at no. 4. Lambert has yet another entry to come. 166. “Dangerous” – Big Data ft. Joywave (2014): I first heard “Dangerous” on Spotify and I have to admit that I wasn’t all too impressed when I first heard it. It managed to keep coming up and I grew to love it. Everything about it is fantastic. The chorus is memorable for sure and the production is among my favorites from 2014. “Dangerous” managed to peak at no. 6. I still need to chart the “The Business of Emotion”. 165. “Believe” – Mumford & Sons (2015): Recently this became Mumford & Sons’ highest charting entry as it peaked at no. 5. Despite the fact that I love their more folk sounding material, I love the change of pace that they provide here. 164. “Hey Brother” – Avicii (2013): After “Wake Me Up” became one of my least favorite songs ever (overplay), I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy another Avicii song. Thankfully he proved me wrong twice. I credit this one’s success to Tyminski’s vocals that I never grow tired of. It became Avicii’s first top ten hit as it peaked at no. 2. 163. “Lay Low” – Josh Turner (2015): “Lay Low” is a call to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and to just go have a private getaway with the one you love. Turner’s vocals are fantastic as is the norm for him. It recently peaked at no. 7 and is looking to have nice longevity. 162. “Netzwerk (Falls Like Rain)” – Klangkarussell (2014): While it’s no “Sonnentanz”, “Netzwerk” manages to be a strong follow-up that came just in time to satiate my thirst for new Klangkarussell. Tom Cane’s vocals are great. It peaked at no. 14. 161. “Heaven” – Beyoncé (2013/4/5): A clear standout from my favorite album of 2014, “Heaven” was destined for success. It’s such a sad song about loss but I love it. Beyoncé’s vocal performance is among her strongest. Despite how sad this is, I love the slightly positive spin on death here. It makes the best of a tragic loss by saying that heaven gained an angel. I still get chills every time I hear this. It became Beyoncé’s 7th top ten hit from her self-titled album as it peaked at no. 2.

180. ooh yay "Don't Tell Em" is pretty good, honestly for me I like the synths used for the main beat, sounds really deep housey, which is something that I'm surprised DJ Mustard does occasionally 173. yay "High" is pretty good, I love the horns in the beat and Nicole Millar's vocals the most, but the whole song is pretty good and is something I should've charted earlier this year 172. ooh yay "Going Out Like That" is really good, something that I still need to chart lol 171. "Sail" is a good song, although its chart run in the US will still continue to baffle me to hell lmao 170. ooh "Benediction" is really good, randomly discovered it from a UK chart video, which is weird since it flopped both there and on my chart, but glad it went to #2 on yours :) 168. ooh yes "Cops And Robbers" is really good, one of my first discoveries from here from the pop new music challenge, I really like her voice in the song :) 167. nothing I ever played in repeat, but I really like the song anyways, mostly like the way the verses are 166. ooh yay "Dangerous" is really good, as is Big Data's whole album 162. yay "Netzwerk (Falls Like Rain)" is really good, the vocal version works well as it did with "Sonnentanz", and I like the production a lot should have peaked higher on your chart though

:) Imagine Dragons fall, but Brandon remains! Kendrick and Walk the Moon manage to break out. Also, most of those rise. Thanks Web! <3 Your top 10 is nearly flawless! Nice chart Zebra :) You're flawless! Awesome stuff!!! You have such good taste. <3 Lay Me Down is #2, Believe made top 5, and You Know You Like It continues to gain! Good chart! Thanks JL44! :) Positions 6-9 in your Top 10 are glorious! Love that Mickey made it in there and that rebound for "Girl Crush" is great. <3 Now I'm hoping for Kacey and Keith/Eric to make it there next. Love the double dose of Rihanna in the Top 20 (awesome jump for "American Oxygen"!) and seeing positive chart movement for "Ghosttown," "Sparks," "Double Tap," "Worth It," "Diamond Rings and Old Barstools," "For a Boy," "My Mistake," and "On to Something Good." :) Keith and Eric enter and Kacey is looking to next week. All of the others keep rising except for "Worth It". Thanks Indie! <3 You're like the biggest fan of "American Oxygen" I think :'( omg slay. :'( ty josh <3 Good debuts for, Zac, Walk The Moon, and J. Cole. Thanks Shoosh! <3 Glad to see Mickey move up four spots to #7, though she clearly benefited from some songs starting to go down (including "Lay Low"). But "Girl Crush" was an obvious winner this week. What a jump, all the way to #6. Great chart Zebra. :) Mickey keeps moving, and yes, "Girl Crush" was very much a winner. Exposure can do wonders. Thanks Sabre! <3 "Lay Me Down": Wow, never would've thought this would turn into a serious No. Re: "Lay Me Down" - Funny how things change so quickly... Re: "I Really Like You" - Eh, just a natural decline. It's starting to burn though. :( Re: Rihsus - They did! FFS is coming back haha. Re: "Ghosttown" - It's so much better than its predecessor, haha. Re: "King" - OOP. Re: "Fight Song" - It should do fairly well. Also, that gem comment was sweet and I appreciate it. Same can be said for yours. Re: "Want To Want Me" - Eh, it drops for now haha. Thanks Paul! <3 yay at "Can't Deny My Love" slaying the top of the chart ooh at "Lay Me Down" and "Shots" being close to the top yay at "Believe" entering the top ten also liking that "Biscuits" is close to the top ten as well :) ooh "The Rhythm" and "Desire" make the top twenty ooh "I'm Good" and "Trap Queen" are rising fast yay at "Say Something" making the top thirty, but it needs to go faster yay "Double Tap" makes the top 40 :) ooh "King" makes the top fifty ooh "Cool", "All Hands On Deck", and "You Know You Like It" are close to the top fifty yay "Pay No Mind", "Fight Song", and "Lean On" are charting liking the debuts for Walk The Moon and J. Cole :) oh wow "Post To Be" and "Country" debuted oh ok at "Right Here, Right Now", "Elastic Heart", "Hypnotic", and "Somebody" dropping :( ooh "Ghost Town" is bubbling under great chart Glad that you're enjoying so much of my chart! Thanks lyhom! <3 Ok, let me try to get back into the swing of things here.
Duly noted and appreciated. "Can't Deny My Love" is fantastic but it can't stay at no. 1 forever, haha. "Shots" couldn't dethrone it but I believe that you'll enjoy my new one. "Say Something" is the little song that could. :'( Glad that you're enjoying my debuts! Oh and "Tom's Diner" is coming for blood. "The Rose" is a masterpiece. Thanks Albie! <3

Zebra's Top 100 - May 3, 2015 - Week 101, Week 19
Commentary: Billie Black leads quite a competitive week as "I Don't Need Another Lover" flies 31-1. This is the largest jump to no. 1 since "I'm Not The Only One" flew 65-1. She also vaults 100-8 with "Black & White", thus allowing her to hold the record for the largest jump in chart history. The previous record was held by "Addicted To You" as it jumped 73-2. Her chart dominance doesn't stop there, however, as "Do You Really" debuts at no. 47 and "I Waited For You" likewise debuts at no. 57. Her entire EP is now charting. Anyways, "Can't Deny My Love" and "Lay Me Down" fall 1-2 and 2-3, respectively, and it looks as if Sam's chance to score his 2nd no. 1 hit is gone. "Believe" inches 5-4, thus furthering its status as Mumford & Sons' highest peak. Mickey Guyton leapfrogs "Girl Crush" (which holds steady at no. 6) as she jumps 7-5 with "Better Than You Left Me". She thus claims this week's highest country song. "Shots" and "Nobody Love" tumble from 3-7 and 4-9, respectively. The last top ten position is held by "Raise 'Em Up" as it advances 14-10. "Raise 'Em Up" is Keith's 3rd top ten entry after "Only You Can Love Me This Way" (no. 10) and "Somewhere In My Car" (no. 8). It is also Church's 2nd top ten after "Springsteen" (no. 3). Black's two entries and Urban/Church's entry manage to knock "Going Out Like That", "Lay Low", and "I Really Like You" out of the top ten. They fall 8-14, 9-17, and 10-12, respectively. Poised to potentially enter the top ten soon are "Biscuits" (13-11), "The Rhythm" (16-13), "Bitch Better Have My Money" (17-15), and "American Oxygen" (18-16). Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea claim the top debut as "Pretty Girls" enters at no. 28. "Pretty Girls" trumps the debut of "Work Bitch", as "Bitch" debuted at no. 46 in September 2013. "Work Bitch" went on to peak at no. 10 but that peak is rather deceptive-- I love "Work Bitch" much more now than I did then. "Pretty Girls" may outpeak "Bitch", but my preference is still the latter. As previously mentioned, "Do You Really" is the 2nd highest debut at no. 47. Mariah narrowly misses the top 50 as "Infinity" starts at no. 53. I'm a tad underwhelmed by this, but it could have the potential to become Mariah's 3rd top ten hit after "Obsessed", "#Beautiful", and "You Don't Know What To Do". "I Waited For You" debuts at no. 57. "Lean On" is the 2nd greatest gainer this week as it vaults 80-34. "I Waited For You" debuts at no. 57. Britney lands another debut this week as "Tom's Diner" launches at no. 77. Natalie Imbruglia debuts at no. 92 with "Instant Crush". Rudimental debuts at no. 99 with "Never Let You Go" and Felix Jaehn debuts at no. 100 with "Ain't Nobody". It doesn't touch Chaka's version, but honestly what could? Haha. Thanks to everyone who has left feedback for my 100 week countdown! I really appreciate it! Expect the next installment soon! Omg "Better Than You Left Me" is in the Top 5!!!1! *hyperventilates* Love that "Raise 'Em Up" got into the Top 10 this week and that "Biscuits" is getting close, too. And I love that great start for "Pretty Girls," and it's cool to see "Tom's Diner" also debuting along with it. <333 Also a big fat YAASSSS @ you having my favorite George Strait song ("Carrying Your Love With Me") in your recurrent list this week.
