Diet Mtn Dew is another option but I doubt they'll release a song that doesn't have a video already. She said months ago that she's working on a new album so the next single might come from the new album instead of Born to Die.

They should go with Off to the Races as the next single. Maybe just slightly redone the track, add some guest rapper(A$AP Rocky or Kanye) and send it to radios. I've heard a few radio hosts complimenting this track, so Interscope should definitely give it a try. This! Ive always wondered why Off to the Racist's has never received single treatment, general audience tend to complain about Lana being too moody and slow so promoting an up-tempo like this song (or a National Anthem remix resembling the genious demo) could be a great move. Regardless if she succeeds with this or not, she's got so much decent material i cant even deal with the possibilities. The fact that one song has 2 or 3 good versions is beyond me.

I love Blue Jeans but its momentum has already passed, if she's going to still release any BTD song it shouldnt be it. She could choose a song from Paradise too like Cola.

Remix video has been added to MTV Hits, MTVU, MTV2, and is MTV Clubland's Pick Of The Week. This is definitely going to smash.

I have disliked this girl for a long time, criticized her SNL performance among other things, but this song has actually made me inclined to buy her album. I absolutely love it.

Of course she would finally get a US hit with a dancey remix. smh US radio is the worst.

Of course she would finally get a US hit with a dancey remix. smh US radio is the worst. I love how she made two sublime cds (or, I guess a cd and an ep) that were popular all over the world except for here and then she finally breaks the US with a standard dance remix. It is a GOOD dance remix though. Sounds fresh even if it isn't anything terribly new. I do hope that this breaks her in a way that another single has a chance that is closer to her actual sound. I still think songs like Cola and Blue Jeans could have done well.

Wait, you dislike her but a dance remix makes you willing to suddenly like her? Well, you're entitled to your opinion of course but I always find it odd that some people may change their mind just because something gets commercially successful. The US treatment of her has been awful from the get-go. She's one of the most interesting things that happened to pop/contemporary music for the past two years or so, yet everyone are focusing on the whole lame indie discussion and some TV performance failure. I mean in the meantime we have people like Britney who can't even dance, sing live or have some actual input in her music to save her life getting praise and radio love (no shade on her, just to put some perspective). It's sad indeed that a dance remix might be the first hit Lana gets in her own country (and it's not even a remix of one of her strongest songs).

It's sad indeed that a dance remix might be the first hit Lana gets in her own country (and it's not even a remix of one of her strongest songs). I actually didn't even know there was a dance remix until you informed me about it. I heard the album version in my friends car, and like I said, this song made me inclined to purchase her album. As every dance remix usually does, it sucks the emotion out of the song. You're right that her North American treatment has been awful. That's a probably big contributor as to why I didn't like her. I didn't like the single Born To Die, saw her SNL performance and wrote her off. You don't need to criticize Britney Spears though, because Britney Spears has always been Britney Spears. I don't think Britney has gotten mass critical praise in a long time. If anything, people judge her too harshly now because they hold her to that image of an 18 year old, pre-maternal girl that was doing some really innovative things regarding her sound and performances. Radio still embraces her because she makes current pop music and the name is about as big as it can get. There's hundreds of great artists and bands that don't get a radio hit because their sound isn't what is popular at the time. After hearing this album, I don't think Lana Del Rey's team had the intention of securing a top 10 Pop hit so it shouldn't be surprising that a more commercial remix is the crux to airplay. I think her album is pretty good, but Young & Beautiful from TGG soundtrack has to be my favorite thing I've heard from her. That song gave me chills while driving home tonight.

No need to shade Britney especially in a Lana thread because the latter always references to the former as her biggest inspiration.

"Young and Beautiful" is what got me to start liking her at first after misjudging her wrong from her SNL performances. "Summertime Sadness" is also great.Has to be one of my favorites of 2013. I even started listening to her album today,a lot of gems on there that would fit well with CHR/Pop radio today. Nice to see someone talented make a breakthrough in 2013.

This will either stall or totally explode later next month. Let's hope she'll generate enough hype from her Tropico mini film to send this all the way to the top 10.

I don't think this being a dance remix has that much to do w/ the success of this song. Otherwise, Young & Beautiful wouldn't have resonated w/ the US public the way it did. It has more to do w/ the fact that it's a good remix. I think the fact that BTD and the EP sold has much as it did despite getting no support anywhere (not the media, not the music critics, not US radio, etc.) shows that there is an audience for her in the US and always has been but SNL really put a damper on things. That is definitely the main cause of her not gaining the popularity in the US like she has worldwide. SNL is a high, visible platform and was the first time many in the US were going to be exposed to her and she blew it. Then the media took hold of the story and the public, music critics, etc. began to jump of the bandwagon and dismiss her. If SNL had not happened, she probably would have fared a lot better initially, even w/ the type of music she releases.
