YOUR ONE-DAYS: Rap will remain at the top next week, as Wale is expected to reach #1. Here are this week's key debuts:
Wale (Atlantic) 140-160k Skillet (Atlantic) 50-55k India.Arie (Def Jam/IDJ) 24-27k August Burns Red (Solidstate) 21-24k Amon Amarth (Metal Blade) 14-17k
In a related story, a record-company intern got somebody's coffee order wrong today, for which he would've had his pay docked if he'd been receiving any. Then he drove a promo guy to the titty bar. (6/26p

I posted this in the Best Selling Albums 2013 thread but no one seems to read it so I'll post this here:
According to oldbloke at UKMIx:
ALBUMS WEEK 24
albums selling over 2,000,000 - this year - 0 / last year - 1 albums selling over 1,000,000 - this year - 1 / last year - 1 albums selling over 500,000 - this year - 13 / last year - 11 albums selling over 250,000 - this year - 46 / last year - 37
total albums sales - this year -131,509,000 (-5.2%)/ last year - 138,772,000
10 albums sold over 1 million in 2012.
For 2013:
1. Justin Timberlake - already at 2 million
Probable 1 million sellers in 2013:
2. Bruno Mars 3. Blake Shelton 4. Daft Punk
That's 4.
What about the following?
Kanye West: Will he release singles/videos or do any promotion?
Jay Z: He's giving away 1 million copies worldwide. How will that affect his USA sales?
Luke Bryan: His last album went 2xp. The new one should scan 1 million.
Drake: His last album went 2xp. The new one should scan 1 million.
Beyonce: Will she even release an album?
Eminem: Supposedly has a new album coming out.
Lady GaGa: I think she could scan 1 million.
Katy Perry: Duh.
Justin Timberlake: Can 20/20 Experience Part 2 scan 1 million? Probably.
J. Cole: His new album is about to open with 300k. Can he push it to 1 million scanned?
One Direction: They should scan 1 million.
That's 15 or so. 2013 might have more million sellers than 2012.
Who else?
U2: They were supposed to release a new studio album the last few years and nothing.
Metallica: Aren't they supposed to have a new album out this Fall?
Robin Thicke? Since "Blurred lines" is huge, can he scan 1 million?
Will there be a surprise 1 million seller?
Will a Christmas album scan 1 million in 2013? 2012's best seller, Rod Stewart, topped out ~875k.

Lil' Wayne's latest album will scan 500,000 next week I believe. So he may make it to 1 million if he's not done releasing singles.

Why are people so surprised by J Cole's consistency? His last album did very well (for a debut rap album), he put out acclaimed mixtapes, dropped a popular single, and delivered a quality album. I don't understand the shock.

Add Pink to the 1M sellers for 2013. New single on the horizon and it should do well.

^Maybe. She's at 661k for 2013. That's 339k more to go.
She sold 13k this week. 26 more weeks of 13k will get her pass 1 million scanned. Maybe she can?

JGMAR has fallen a lot on pop but is still doing well on HAC/AC. If they give "True Love" an adds date finally it can start taking off and pick album sales back up.

Kanye West (Roc-a-Fella/Def Jam/IDJ) 70-75k OUCH Meh. It's a 72ish percent drop. He has no single and has gotten mixed reactions from the public, so not too surprising. Apparently he is officially sending "Black Skinhead" to radio and dropping a video for it on July 4th, so I anticipate him being OK in the long run. I doubt he will scan 1 million though- he'll probably top out around 800k with this effort.

Actually Kanye's is a projected 77-78% drop. I wouldn't have said 'ouch' either, but it is steeper than the normal 70-72% second week fall. J. Cole's is a 68-70% drop, just for comparison's sake.

Yea, Yeezus has been pretty much a fanbase only release so far. It's a great album but wonder if he is really trying to make it a success or not. Some songs have potential to become small hits outside the blogosphere too.
