It was also the most-added single at R&R this week.

It's a "live" video, CMT is playing it.

I like this song a lot. It has a great melody from Trace. His songs are hit or miss for me, but I like this one a lot.

I like it. It's one of those "country music is more than just a bunch of hillbilly songs" tunes, and Trace delivers in a very strong way.
I'd like to see Trace get another #1 (it's been way too long since "Thinkin Thing"), and I wouldn't mind at all if this song did it for him.

I'm almost certain that his last #1 single was 'I Left Something Turned On At Home', which reached the penthouse at the end of 1997.
I love the guy, and I love this song; 'Chrome' was/is the most enjoyable video I've seen in YEARS!!!!!

I think it's cool that we got someone here that follows R&R's Country chart very well. How far back do you go with R&R data? Just curious, but I do appreciate your inputs.

I've been reading and following R&Rs charts for over two decades; Billboard seems to have way too many rules that don't make any sense to me, so I've always considered R&Rs charts to be MUCH more accurate, although their recurrent rule makes me sick!!!!
Considering the the vast majority of record companies either drastically reduced or just stopped releasing CD singles altogether has made BBs charts far too inconsistent for me to follow; regardless of how they attempt to balance their formula (% dedicated to airplay vs. % dedicated to sales), they've changed their policy regarding whether a song which is NOT released as a single can chart on the Hot 100 more times than I can count.
Although the difference in the sizes of the reporting panels (125 in BB vs. 116 @ R&R), as well as the chart methodologies used in both trades are somewhat diverse, the contrast between the respective surveys can be rather startling.
I'm delighted that Trace Adkins is still making GREAT music almost a decade after his sensational debut CD; he's got a great voice, and he's certainly as true to the music as Randy Travis, Alan Jackson & George Strait.
That's not TOO hard to take, is it???????

Thanks for sharing, and I gotcha loud and clear ! I wish I could go with both, but I always find myself following Billboard more closely. As far as the people behind the magazines go, however, I'd have to go with R&R's Lon over Billboard's Wade. They're both very knowledgable country editors, and I've seen them both in interviews. When I see/hear Lon, I can just feel a greater passion for the music, and that (in my opinion) is what makes him a fine country personality. Now, if only he could make some decent chart references on his countdown show...
