I enjoy Maroon 5 less since "Moves Like Jagger" (like, why did it go that route- at least that sound). But, no denying the success the band is seeing. To be popular again they had to conform to the popular kind of music(pop).

I think I'm the only person on here who liked every M5 single since MLJ. I mean, "Payphone" and "One More Night" aged terribly with me, but that has more to do with the fact that they both were SO overplayed, it was nonsense. I'll probably like both again once time marches on. "Daylight" is good and "Love Somebody" is fantastic. Though, "Moves Like Jagger" was the best of the past five singles. Overexposed is a great album. There's so many gems that haven't been released as singles yet. "Doin' Dirt," "Wipe Your Eyes," "Lucky Strike," "The Man Who Never Lied," "Sad," and I even like their cover of "Kiss."

Overexposed a great album and you all will deal. Also, "Love Somebody" is the best single from the album thus far. Personally I think Love Somebody is the worst single off Overexposed, easily. The production is weak and some of the lyrics are CRINGEWORTHY. I really wanna dance the night away
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I really wanna touch somebody
I wanna feel like we never gonna ever stop
Asking you to stay, you should stay, stay with me tonight, yeah

Great album (chart & radio wise) for M5, but an horrible body of work, TBQH.

Pleased to see "Treasure" doing well after that brief slowdown.
And, the two tracks that were strong contenders as the "song of the summer" are living up to the hype.

I didn't notice "Love Somebody" is already top 10 on overall airplay, and it's headed for #1 on HAC, top 10 on Pop. I wish Moves Like Jagger didn't smash. >:( MLJ is amazing and so is One More Night, but the atrocities that are Daylight, Payphone, and Love Somebody though... I agree sort of. Moves Like Jagger and One More Night are both amazing pop songs, but then Payphone was meh, and the last two have been so cheesy and ....zzzzzz. But I'll put up with them as long as they release more songs like MLJ and OMN. Great album (chart & radio wise) for M5, but an horrible body of work, TBQH. The album has sold really poorly though (under 1.4 million.) They're pretty much singles artists now. It's one of the 10 best selling albums released in 2012... 2012 Releases1. Red - Taylor Swift 3,731,000 2. Babel - Mumford & Sons 2,358,000 3. Up All Night - One Direction 1,800,000 4. Take Me Home - One Direction 1,707,000 5. The Truth about Love - P!nk 1,633,000 6. Believe - Justin Bieber 1,515,000 7. Bruno Mars - Unorthodox Jukebox 1,488,000 8. Blown Away - Carrie Underwood 1,486,000 9. Some Nights - fun. 1,416,000 10. Overexposed - Maroon 5 1,399,000
11. The Lumineers - The Lumineers 1,353,000 12. Night Train - Jason Aldean 1,335,000 13. Night Visions - Imagine Dragons 1,144,000 14. Tuskegee - Lionel Richie 1,102,000 15. Unapologetic - Rihanna 1,053,000 16. Good Kid, m.A.A.d City - Kendrick Lamar 959,000 17. Tornado - Little Big Town 931,000 18. The World from the Other Side of the Moon - Phillip Phillips 928,000 19. Uncaged - Zac Brown Band 894,000 20. The Heist - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis 890,000 Seems pretty good to me.

This isn't 2000 anymore. 1.4 million albums sold is a pretty solid number. Flo Rida is an example of a singles artist. How many hits did he have last album? 3 or 4? And he has awful sales. Maroon5 sells singles AND albums.

I agree w/them now being single artists. Prior to 'MLJ', "HANDS ALL OVER" was never close to reaching platinum. They were struggling. 1.4m my not seem a lot for what they have accomplished in their earlier days, but it's also more than quite a few acts that released an album within the past year. Single artists or not, 1.4m in this market is very good.

lmao at 1.4 mill. albums in 2013 being anywhere near a 'poor or under performing' album. ANYthing over 1 million is considered almost like 2 million 10 years ago now. Its very difficult and rare to do now. In 1997 it was cake for even a new artist to sell 2+ million with just one hot song. Now, to sell 1 mill. albums now ESP. w/ the major dominance of digital single sales AND illegal downloading, sharing etc. is a solid HIT. Even going gold is like the new platinum lol. Did you just get out of a cage that you were left in since 2001 or so lol.
Back to Maroon 5- I agree w. most of you. I really havent cared for the last few single choices ESP. when almost everyone agrees that Lucky Strike is a potential MLJ sounding smash (that for whatever the reason they won't release). To me that song alone is better than their last 2 or 3 singles from this album lol.

I guess we won't call them an "albums artist" (Adele, Taylor Swift, Zac Brown Band, Mumford & Sons) but they certainly aren't singles artists in the vein of Derulo, Flo Rida, Pitbull, K$. Didn't Hands All Over sell 1m+ off of "Misery" and the late-added-bonus-track "Moves Like Jagger"?

1.4 million albums sold in 2013 is "selling poorly"? let me lol to that.. Also with Payphone, One More Night and Dayling selling over 10 million combined they surely have sold a lot of records.
I guess almost everyone are singles artists nowadays since Overexposed was one of the best selling last year.

OK man you are like the 100th person to tell us that 1.4 million copies sold in 2013 is good no need to keep picking fun at duca about it, in my eyes M5 is nothing but a pop radio friendly band that makes MOST of there success of their poppy singles

I'm not picking fun at him, what are you talking about? and this a forum where everyone can express their opinions so yeah..
So what if they're (M5) are a pop radio friendly band? most people on this forum CLEARLY listens the most to pop radio friendly artists, is that wrong. ???
They don't have any less generic songs that most artists at Top 40 radio.

in my eyes M5 is nothing but a pop radio friendly band that makes MOST of there success of their poppy singles Yeah... that's like... who they are. That's like saying The Band Perry is nothing but a country radio friendly band that makes MOST of their success off their country singles. Codex - you totally messed up the colors. It's very patriotic and all, but shouldn't girls be pink, not red? Mikky Ekko isn't female, and neither are Zedd or Calvin Harris Stay - female & male duet, but there's more Rihanna in it than Mikky, so I see why it's the girl color. Clarity & INYL - both are performed 100% by female vocalists, yes the producers are male, but I'm sure this list is referring to vocals

Mikky Ekko isn't female, and neither are Zedd or Calvin Harris I'm judging based on vocals (although I did overlook Mikky Ekko and Nate Ruess... I'll just delete that part then since the main thing I find interesting is that the entire top 7 is all males, not even any features. Is that rare? I'm assuming it isn't super rare, but still.

There's also Nate Ruess on JGMAR which isn't listed
I doubt it's rare though.
