lmao at 1.4 mill. albums in 2013 being anywhere near a 'poor or under performing' album. ANYthing over 1 million is considered almost like 2 million 10 years ago now. Its very difficult and rare to do now. In 1997 it was cake for even a new artist to sell 2+ million with just one hot song. Now, to sell 1 mill. albums now ESP. w/ the major dominance of digital single sales AND illegal downloading, sharing etc. is a solid HIT. Even going gold is like the new platinum lol. Did you just get out of a cage that you were left in since 2001 or so lol. Back to Maroon 5- I agree w. most of you. I really havent cared for the last few single choices ESP. when almost everyone agrees that Lucky Strike is a potential MLJ sounding smash (that for whatever the reason they won't release). To me that song alone is better than their last 2 or 3 singles from this album lol. I think that 1.5 mil is like 3 mil+ albums 10 years ago. I was looking at the chart history of The Truth About Love by P!NK, and ten years ago, I think an album like that could have been at around 4 million by now, it has some crazy legs.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I find Love Somebody unbelievably bland, flat and forgettable. Not a horrible song but theres just SO much better out there now and Lucky Strike hands down shoulda been released by this point (esp. when no one knows if they'll be any more singles released). Everywhere I look (You Tube etc.) people universally want that song released as a single. That song could've ended the era on a major high note and had a shot of being one of the biggest hits of the album lol! It couldve been what Last Friday Night was to Katy Perry (a 5th or 6th single that was massive). I doubt this song will be remembered in the months to come once it peaks on pop. It's very right now and mainly doing well 'cause of their momentum from the string of previous successful singles. It would bomb as a 1st or 2nd single.
Sorry back on topic- really hoping Bruno climbs at least a notch or two this week

Billboard.com: Over on the Digital Songs chart, Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," featuring Pharrell and T.I., upholds the No. 1 spot. It sold 384,000 downloads for the week, down by 9%.
Miley Cyrus' "We Can't Stop" is also steady at No. 2 for another week, shifting another 216,000 downloads (up 3%).
The chart's highest debut is from Jay-Z's "Holy Grail," featuring Timberlake, which bounds in at No. 3 with 196,000.
Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" is No. 4 for another week, selling 179,000 (down 3%). Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" falls 3-5 with 158,000 (down 18%), Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," featuring Pharrell Williams, slips 5-6 with 157,000 (down 12%).
Bruno Mars' "Treasure" falls 6-7 with 131,000 (down 9%), Anna Kendrick's "Cups" is stationary at No. 8 with 121,000 (up 3%), and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Same Love," featuring Mary Lambert, is also a non-mover at No. 9 with 118,000 (up 4%). Closing out the top 10 is Macklemore and Lewis' "Can't Hold Us," featuring Ray Dalton, which falls three rungs to No. 10 with 113,000 (down 13%).
Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending July 14) totaled 4.84 million units, down less than 1% compared with the sum last week (4.86 million) and down 13% compared with the comparable sales week of 2012 (5.6 million). If Lady Gaga release her new song this month, surely it can't debut #1 I heard she's filming a music video right now, which makes me think they might go all out for the #1 debut. But it'll be difficult. She'll have AI from a radio deal on pop and HAC most likely (I don't know how much that would get, 40 million AI or something?), and probably high first-week sales like 500,000, plus good streaming, but Robin will also have good streaming, might still be selling 200,000 a week by then, and will still have huge AI obviously.

Billboard.com: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Same Love," featuring Mary Lambert, is also a non-mover at No. 9 with 118,000 (up 4%). How can this be? It's been at #6 or #7 on iTunes all week. It was even up to #5 at one point. I don't think this song is going to make the top ten on the Hot 100.

Months ago none of us would have imagined Robin Thicke being #1 all summer long.
The next #1 could be a big surprise.

Sexy and I Know It definitely gets a better reception here too, not to mention I hear it way more. I actually hear We Found Love at least once a week here in Boston and haven't heard Sexy and I Know It since last winter. It really depends on your market. PREDICTIONIn five years you will still hear Party Rock Anthem regularly on CHR, Hot AC and even some adventurous AC stations. Sexy and I know it will rightly be considered the novelty song that it was meant to be (ie I'm Too Sexy, Disco Duck, The Streak etc)/
