So proud of Kacey being acknowledged alongside all these legends!
Also very excited for Miranda! "The Weight of These Wings" is BY FAR my favorite album by her and her peak artistically for me! It's really awesome to see this particular album getting this honor

Paul Cauthen and Orville Peck together doing covers of The Rightous Brothers. Orville have different ranges. This guy can sing. Wish Columbia Records move Orville to the Nashille label. This guy could be a major superstar on country radio.

Okay, Orville slayed this song as well. There was a hint that both songs that appeared in the first Top Gun movie could not be used on the soundtrack which was song by The Righteous Brothers. From the hint, the two songs will be in the film, Top Gun:Maverick. Since they are original recordings? They could be on the soundtrack.

Maybe this has already been discussed somewhere but did anyone notice that the Forever Country mashup from 2016 was removed from Spotify?
That’s literally one of my favorite songs so I’m wondering what’s up?

From Kelly Clarkson's show. Apparently Queen Latifah is a fan of Blake and Luke co-hosting? She said she was going to go to one of the country music awards for the songs, and also because watching Blake and Luke crack jokes on each other for an hour or two.

Records and Sony opened Records Nashville label. Lathan is one of the artists. The article said that Matt Stell will be the flagship of the Records brand with Chris Bandi. Records will have this lineup.
Chase Martin Chris Bandi Dylan Brady Jennifer Smestad Lathan Warlick Lennon Stella Matt Stell Noah Cyrus
They all are signed to mainly Columbia Records. Records is a joint ventures to Sony. The only country acts signed to Columbia are not on a Nashville label yet.
Koe Wetzel First Aid Kit from Sweden Orville Peck
Opening up some Nashville Sony labels could get two of the hottest country artists in Koe and Orville to have a place and maybe try to sell the first Swedist female country duo from Sweden a shot.

Edit: Music video's still on YouTube, at least!

Nice to see a trio of black ladies singing. Last singing group of black females that hit the charts was The Pointer Sisters. Don't know there were anymore after them.

You never know when one of your favorite songs and/or artists will disappear from streaming services without notice. I fear when music will become more like television/movies and we will need to subscribe to multiple services to listen to all the songs/artists that we wish to hear. Buying music is still the best way to own, control and manage your music collection.

Buying music is still the best way to own, control and manage your music collection. That's...kinda already the case. Apple Music is about $10 a month, Spotify has a premium service that's like $5-10 a month...however, as long as YouTube exists, streaming will always be free. The good thing about music streaming is that unlike television/movies, if a certain song is on one streaming service then it's 110% on all the others.

^ Yeah, luckily the content on streaming services are pretty consistent across the board. With the exception of, like, Garth Brooks lmao.

If I want to stream his music, I need to subscribe to Amazon. Just like there are (still!) exclusives such as bonus tracks to physical product sold at certain retailers, I suspect it will be a matter of time before the same starts happening more frequently with streaming.

If that were to happen, that’d be s**tty. But IDK, I can’t exactly wrap my head around it happening. Artists and songwriters and creators need every red cent they can get, since their cuts in the streaming world have made it virtually impossible to make any decent money from it. Most money in the industry nowadays is made by touring, and in a post-COVID world, not everyone will be able to go out and tour the way it used to be — smaller clubs will be shut down, lesser known names will be seen as unbank-able (and therefore unbook-able), and money will continue to tighten. So that leads me to believe they’d want their music on every streaming platform, in order to get as much money as possible. Entirely different game from film & television, where actors and producers and creators on that end are contracted to a set payment well in advance. It’s then up to the streaming networks (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) to book the content they think viewers want to consume, so they can make their money off of memberships, ads, and episode/film streams.

I think you could see it with more big names, where services think people will subscribe for the exclusive, so they pay the artist. Theoretically you could also see a company like apple create an exclusive new artist type show, basically original content with musicians (sort of like a label), and have an exclusivity deal.

Theoretically you could also see a company like apple create an exclusive new artist type show, basically original content with musicians (sort of like a label), and have an exclusivity deal. Definitely possible, but didn’t we see that attempted with TIDAL’s initial rollout? From what I can remember (and I may very well be wrong, someone please correct me if so!) the “TIDAL Exclusive” releases they had with some artists didn’t translate to an increase in membership the way they had hoped, so those artists who had originally signed on expanded their catalogs to other streaming services again. Pretty sure a lot of artists (incl. Beyoncè, JAY-Z, Jason Aldean, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, etc.) were involved in that. Again, I can see something like this happening in the future, and if it does, that really will be just terrible for us as consumers. It’s like net neutrality for music streaming. BUT...I have a tough time bringing myself to seeing it actually ever come to fruition, or become a normal thing.

deadline.com/2020/09/helen-reddy-dead-i-am-woman-singer-feminist-1234588490/Lost another icon legend of the 70s. Helen had some songs that sounded country flavor like "Tulsa Turnaround" and her hit "Delta Dawn" that Tanya Tucker sang. Helen Reddy is an inspiration of all women in the 70s with "I Am Woman" which brought us some fiesty songs from women like Reba McEntire, Gretchen Wilson and others since Helen's song shaped songs of women of all genres with women empowerment.
