If Morgan Wallen is going to be back on the airwaves (knew it was bound to happen sooner or later), at least "Sand in My Boots" is one of his best songs from the record. Love that one. I was thinking they might go with "Wasted on You," which I could very easily do without being a radio single.

Now I’m super interested to see what happens with the ACMS!

Woah. They absolutely took over the ACMs spot. Moving up to April, though? Interesting move, considering the show was always treated as the start of CMA Fest week in Nashville.

If it does get pushed, which seems likely, it’ll be interesting to see how it performs on the charts after everything. I would think there’s would be some hesitation with it, but at the same time I’m hearing his old stuff pretty frequently now. It really is a great song and perfect for summer/fall. Hope we end up getting more singles from the album. Like him or not, his music is still much better than half of what’s on radio imo.

Could someone tell me why Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Fishin’ In The Dark” is top 10 all genre on iTunes? I’m guessing it’s being played on a show.

It is probably one of higher ranked songs before the discount starts so there is more visibility when it happens.

Shall we speculate on what this is going to be? I think it’s obviously the CMA Fest replacement special of some kind.

New article from Hits Daily Double revealed some mid-year country data & a list of "upcoming expected releases" for lots of big country artists. Below, I will be posting the artists that are set to release new music soon, but I'm not 100% if the order they're listed in, is the order of who will release first. It isn't in alphabetical order which makes me curious! UMG Nashville:
-Kacey Musgraves -Reba McEntire -Mickey Guyton -Lauren Alaina -Parker McCollum -Maddie & Tae Sony Music Nashville:
-Maren Morris -Miranda Lambert -Luke Combs -Kane Brown -Old Dominion -Chris Young Big Machine Label Group:
-Lady A -Midland -Thomas Rhett -Carly Pearce -Riley Green Warner Music Nashville:
-Dan + Shay -Zac Brown Band -Brian Kelley -Cole Swindell -Chris Janson BBR Music Group:
-Jason Aldean -Parmalee -Dustin Lynch -Blanco Brown -Frank Ray Monument:
-Walker Hayes -Caitlyn Smith -Tigirlily -Teddy Robb Link to full article: hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=327259&title=STATE-OF-THE-STATE%253A-NASHVILLE-MAJORS-AND-INDIES

If it's any consolation, I can pretty much say the list is random because Parker McCollum's album is pretty much confirmed for July 30th and Chris Young for August 6th while some of the others have hinted at new music coming soon. I'm just curious if this means no Michael Ray, Darius Rucker and Carrie Underwood this year.

I wonder whether the ATD in Hits Daily Double article is accurate, because I see 10.4m for Tennessee Whiskey which means it's elligible for Diamond certification?

I feel like this article is just an overview of artists who have already announced that they are officially releasing new music. I don’t think any artist would use a random article such as this to announce new music! I could be wrong about this haha!! Stranger things man!

I could see it being accurate especially for "Tennessee Whiskey" since it has been stable on streams and sales for years (currently 7x platinum). The thing that makes me think it's not accurate is that they have Gabby Barrett's live EP with 792k units while her actual album has 855k. Her live EP never charted on the Billboard 200 and none of the songs on Spotify even have 100k streams... I just find it really hard to believe it has sold that much. I didn't even think it was close to Gold eligibility. They also have "I Hope" at 1.6M units when it's already certified 5x platinum...

I'm guessing HDD double counted data for both Gabby Barrett's sets because they have overlapping songs even though one is live version which means it would never happen in real practice. As for I Hope, it could be data for original version only.

Very solid Stagecoach lineup. Was kind of expecting to see Kacey’s name in there, with her new album coming soon.

Very solid Stagecoach lineup. Was kind of expecting to see Kacey’s name in there, with her new album coming soon. Could mean her TBA tour contains the date. I have a feeling she's going to forgo the music festivals this go-around and instead focus on touring venues again. I last saw Kacey here in Austin in October 2019 at the ACL Music Festival which would've been one of her last shows of that tour. I remember her saying at the time how exhausted she and the band were and how much they were ready for a break (little did they know at the time what 2020 had in store!). On the flip side of that, I also got to see her perform at a bit of a smaller venue here in Austin in March of 2019 and there's just no comparing the different energy from the two shows. I've actually seen Kacey twice at the ACL Music Festival and I personally think she's more comfortable performing in smaller environments and connects better with the audience overall. With music festivals the artist is usually bound to a specific timeframe that they can perform and are limited in how many songs can be in the setlist because of that, whereas it's obviously different for regular music venues. That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see her pop up again on the music festival circuit in say 2023 or something like that.

How Far Can It Go? by Hailey Whitters with Trisha Yearwood is released as a follow-up single to Heartland in the small market and just debut at #68 on MusicRow Country Breakout Chart.
For once, I wish mainstream country radio stopped wasting time on something like Aaron Lewis, and tried playing her.

For once, I wish mainstream country radio stopped wasting time on something like Aaron Lewis, and tried playing her. This song is SO good and SO 90s country. It’s easily one of my favorite things Hailey has done and wish she’d see some success on mainstream radio!
