Every song in the top 30, with the exception of "Some Beach" and "Back When" received 3-digit increases, with most of them with at least +200. Every song in the top 30 has a bullet. I haven't seen this for a while! Charts are looking amazing.

Darryl Worley gained an astounding 647 spins in one week to become the new #1 in R&R; I wonder how many of those spins were paid for on small stations?

I may totally off (Media)base, but didn't they recently go through a station list change? That would explain the large increases in spins. For example, just last week... there were only 112 possible total stations. Now, as of this morning, there are 116. Four stations probably don't account for that whole jump, but when you simply add those stations it can cause big jumps like that!

First, he had a big margin over Shelton on Billboard, so he was going to be #1 there anyway -- I doubt anybody goes crazy making sure they get both #1 designations, one or the other being good enough. Second, with a large gap between Darryl's song and the other bulleted songs, he would have gotten #1 next week on R&R even without a big push, once Blake fell below him. But the legacy of 2004 is that we never will really know, so anybody is free to speculate.

In the issue of R&R dated 11-5-04, there were 113 stations on the panel; that was also the issue in which 'Stays In Mexico' ran out of steam after only 14 weeks on the charts, as it drifted aimlessly from #6 to #5 without a bullet.
By the time the year-end issue came out four weeks later (12-10-04), the panel had increased to 116 stations, where it remains today.
