The current monster that is "Blurred Lines" was heavily influenced by this classic. #1 on the Hot 100 and Hot Soul Singles chart in 1977. Marvin was heavily pressured by Motown in the late 70s to record disco music, which he refused to do. He wrote this song as a parody of the disco scene, and it became one of his biggest hits.

Not a fan of either songs. Just somewhat like their productions.

He has other songs that I prefer over this, but I still love it.

I'm ashamed to admit that this is the first time I hear this song. On first listen, I'm not really feeling it - there are a bunch of Marvin songs I'd rank above it. I definitely hear the influence on "Blurred Lines".

He wrote this song as a parody of the disco scene, and it became one of his biggest hits. Oh really? One of the few songs I like from him. I like Aaliyah's remake too.

It's a nice song, but I prefer "Blurred Lines".

I like this, but I love Aaliyah's cover more.

I enjoy the background more than the actual lyrics. Still a jam.
