Looks like the fight for number one could get interesting to start off the year. Gretchen, Keith, Brad Rascal Flatts, and Alan Jackson all have great songs that are rocketing upwards. Lee ann Rimes is an outside shot (I don't think it will ever happen but she is rising) to make it also. Here is my prediction:
Gretchen--2 weeks Keith- 4weeks Brad- peak at number 3 :'( Rascal Flatts- 2weeks Alan- peak at #2 Lee Ann- Peak at #5

Rascal Flatts is up to #2 on today's update, ahead of Gretchen, Keith & Brad, so I doubt it takes them six more weeks to get to #1. They may get there next and keep Gretchen out of the top spot.
Still the songs are all very close so its anyone's game.

I like it like this, where it's not so obvious who's going to go #1. I agree that I can see Brad and Gretchen getting left behind, and stuck at #2 or #3. Keith seems like the surest bet, but Rascal Flatts are looking pretty healthy right now. That comes as a bit of a surprise to me, since I initially thought they'd struggle to go top 5 this time around.
Alan's picking up, but I don't think he's going past #4. Same goes for LeAnn, but that's a pretty big accomplishment for her. I also wouldn't completely rule out Reba, though she needs to pick it up a bit.

RF finally are getting chart success after they start recording music that I don't like nearly as much as their old stuff. Imagine that! I really thought Gretchen would go to #1 with this single, but I am really starting to doubt that now.
