So: CG: 5.5M TD: 4.5M F: 6.5M ET: 5.5M LFN: 3.2M TOTGA: 2.5M POM: 2.5M WA: 3.2M = 32.4M Even more than the estimate. These are the latest numbers we have, the date indicating the end of the last tracking week I have sales for: FIREWORK 6.33m (28/07/13) E.T. 5.60m (28/07/13) CALIFORNIA GURLS 5,54m (28/07/13) TEENAGE DREAM 4.57m (28/07/13) LAST FRIDAY NIGHT (T.G.I.F.) 3.46m (28/07/13) WIDE AWAKE 3.06m (28/07/13) PART OF ME 2.51m (28/07/13) ONE THAT GOT AWAY 2.3-2.5m (estimate) PEACOCK 0.5m+ (certified by RIAA, 09/07/2012) OTHER TRACKS - Unknown, but something Total - 34m+ The singles from Teenage Dream smashed like no other and I think people just have to accept that. If we go by track-equivalent-album sales (which counts tracks as 1/10th of an albums total and I believe should be the metric against which albums are judged these days given the shift in the market), Teenage Dream has sold ~6.2 million track-equivalent albums in the US. Of albums released 2006 and beyond (when album sales really took a dive and single sales really took off, IMO), that is 5th only behind Adele's 21, Taylor Swift's Fearless and debut, and Gaga's Fame. It was a monster era, no other way of looking at it. Sorry, just had to do that. I get excited whenever I list the single sales from TD (*dork moment over*). So, is that 6.2 mil track equivalent albums + the ~2.5 the actual album sold, or does the 6.2 include the album sales as well? Either way, extremely impressive sales numbers.

34M being 1/10 album sales = 3.4M album sales + 2.8M actual album sales = 6.2M

It's hard to predict. The numbers are realistic guesses, and as you can see they're close, but Katy is behind. Katy's sales and streaming are very up in the air. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) She could possible get 600k+ which would help, but even then she'd need a bit more streaming. We don't know how much of the 15 million views for the Lyric video are from the US, hopefully 6-7 million seeing as how she's "local". If that happens, then more than 50% of her streams would be outside the US; not local at all. But I get what you're saying so I wish she goes all local on us this week and has some 10 million of these views come from the US + 610k downloads and she has her 8th #1.

I don't know how anyone could say it wasn't a monster era, but just out of curiosity, when you rank her fifth, are you also adding single sales to total album sales for all the other albums you're thinking of, or putting Katy's single + album sales against everyone's album-only sales?

Very impressive debut sales. And it's still holding strong at No. 1 on iTunes.

So close
"Lines" and "Roar," in fact, are separated by just a 3.3% difference in overall chart points (with "Lines" down by 9% and "Roar" up by 1,262%).

Depends on the sales difference I'd say. I'm nervous the timing won't ever be right.

If she slays the VMA'S and releases the video next week, there will be no stopping it from #1.

^ except if Robin slays harder (does a way hotter performance) lol. Nah, her team haven't missed a beat. They know what theyre doing and even if the performance is so so it'll still get a boost PLUS the video I'm sure is being fast tracked 200 mph this very second.

I still don't agree with Billboard's chart methodology. "Roar" outsold "Blurred Lines" by 266,000 copies - almost 2 times Blurred Lines. The weighting of streaming and radio are MUCH too high in comparison to digital downloads.

The weighting of streaming and radio are MUCH too high in comparison to digital downloads. I think Billboard just wanted to stop those no.1 debuts from happening to frequently. Thus the diminishing of sales in favor of streaming and radio play. I do think that streaming is important, but it should be encroaching on radio play's percentage, not sales.

And it BARELY held on.

That's $343,000 more money the individuals were willing to pay for the song than BL. Imo, radio and streaming are way too weighted considering the people listening to them aren't even paying for the song, and especially in radio's case because the listener doesn't get to choose what song they're listening to there.

I really dig their combination that they have now. Possibly less airplay and more streaming and I would be perfectly content.
