I was going by wikipedia. I guess someone from here could have gone in there and changed them up before I got to them?
I will adjust accordingly if anyone has more accurate figures...

Janet never charted on any Billboard rock chart, so whatever rock play she had, it couldn't have been much. ![](http://images.proboards.com/tongue.gif) Katy Perry's had great singles success, and her last album sold well in this sales climate. It wasn't a 21, but no non-Adele albums are. She's had great digital-track sales, but since digital-track sales are way higher than physical-single sales ever were, kinda fruitless to compare those to others- not sure if anyone was, just sayin'. :)

And why would you not include TOTGA when it was on the parent album? lol

CG: 5.5M TD: 4.5M F: 6.5M ET: 5.5M LFN: 3.2M TOTGA: 2.5M POM: 2.5M WA: 3.2M
= 32.4M
Even more than the estimate.

Girl. Katy's entire music career has consisted of having sleepovers with her label to figure out how to continuously suck radio's dick while making it appear fresh. At least Rih the people who wrote, produce, and tell Rihanna what to sing were progressive with hers. :'( Rihanna and Katy fall in the same group. So everything you say against Katy comes back to that other puppet. But at least Katy seems to write and be somewhat alert and alive(without having to pop something before hand). Just know that all of this makes you're opinion...INVALID. Thanks, please come again. ![](http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ls3mltGPSg1qkeuixo1_500.jpg) So, Roar is still #1 and back to having green updates sweet, cool, awesome, etc etc etc. Clock ha! Teenage Dream had 8 singles and 8 huge radio hits. Let's not kid ourselves here. Just because "Part of Me" didn't hit #1 on radio doesn't mean that it wasn't huge there. And yes, Teenage Dream was a perfect pop album, or at least as close to one as an album can get (see Breakaway for another example). It had enough of everything on the album to satisfy all different kinds of people and moods. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not true. The fact of the matter is that this album sales climate is a completely different animal than it was 10-15 years ago - or even 5 years ago. It would have sold much, much more if the sales market was as bountiful as it was back then. ![](http://s3.amazonaws.com/rapgenius/1291131680_two-thumbs-up.jpg) Whether you like her music or not, Katy Perry had one of the biggest eras of all time with Teenage Dream. DEAL WITH IT PEOPLE. Yep. If she's murdering her competition like this with barely any promo, I can only imagine what's going to happen after video premieres and she starts performing it everywhere. All the competition's wigs will be completely snatched.

Really, though, let's take a second for LFN. I hate those LFN lyrics more than anything. The second I heard that guitar and bass, I didn't give a shit. Discovery is one of my favorite albums of all time, but would pop radio have been ready for disco again this Spring/Summer without being broken in (with a little extra icing on top in) by, hmmm...oh, Katy Perry? I don't know.

The new number from my above mess of a math post using SPREE's sales numbers for her singles is 5.3 million albums sold (hypothetically).

WTHeck is going on in here? Teenage Dream is a great pop album! Katy does pop like no other right now. The only pure pop album I can think of that is better than Teenage Dream is Let Go by Avril Lavigne (THAT is THE perfect pop album of this generation!) All you naysayers of the holy spirit of Teenage Dream can have seats and take notes. NEXT Good. See I like you sometimes Uhh... you like me all the time. I don't know why you insist on keeping this image of you up when nobody believes it. Just admit it and we can all move on. k <3

My head is spinning with all these statistics and views of TD as a pop album . Appreciate everyone's passion. All I know , to me , TD is a great and extremely successful pop album. Remember when it was nominated for Grammys for Best Album and Best Pop Album. ? But honestly, I wish we could focus on Roar's achievements so far and how it is going to be a monster and mangle the shit out of all the competition. KPU's ,video, VMA, her stint on a for sure Ellen episode singing Roar acoustic. Lol. Prism is the future and Roar is its present anthem. It's only the beginning of one hell of an exciting era.

So: CG: 5.5M TD: 4.5M F: 6.5M ET: 5.5M LFN: 3.2M TOTGA: 2.5M POM: 2.5M WA: 3.2M = 32.4M Even more than the estimate. These are the latest numbers we have, the date indicating the end of the last tracking week I have sales for: FIREWORK 6.33m (28/07/13) E.T. 5.60m (28/07/13) CALIFORNIA GURLS 5,54m (28/07/13) TEENAGE DREAM 4.57m (28/07/13) LAST FRIDAY NIGHT (T.G.I.F.) 3.46m (28/07/13) WIDE AWAKE 3.06m (28/07/13) PART OF ME 2.51m (28/07/13) ONE THAT GOT AWAY 2.3-2.5m (estimate) PEACOCK 0.5m+ (certified by RIAA, 09/07/2012) OTHER TRACKS - Unknown, but something Total - 34m+ The singles from Teenage Dream smashed like no other and I think people just have to accept that. If we go by track-equivalent-album sales (which counts tracks as 1/10th of an albums total and I believe should be the metric against which albums are judged these days given the shift in the market), Teenage Dream has sold ~6.2 million track-equivalent albums in the US. Of albums released 2006 and beyond (when album sales really took a dive and single sales really took off, IMO), that is 5th only behind Adele's 21, Taylor Swift's Fearless and debut, and Gaga's Fame. It was a monster era, no other way of looking at it. Sorry, just had to do that. I get excited whenever I list the single sales from TD (*dork moment over*).

Where will this chart tomorrow on the Hot 100? Either #1 or #2. My guess would be #2 (Robin Thicke's airplay is too strong to overcome right now), but I would love to be surprised with the song advancing to #1 instead.

It's hard to predict. The numbers are realistic guesses, and as you can see they're close, but Katy is behind. Katy's sales and streaming are very up in the air. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) She could possible get 600k+ which would help, but even then she'd need a bit more streaming. We don't know how much of the 15 million views for the Lyric video are from the US, hopefully 6-7 million seeing as how she's "local".
