I feel bad... my last few posts have been somewhat negative, but still....
Can't say I'm a fan of this song. Nice message/story, but there's nothing to make it stand out. I just can't see this one getting a decent amount of spins.

I doubt it will be a hit -- it's too unconventional. But I think it's a song with some real power. Hearing it only twice was enough to make me buy his CD. Eventually, if he does more mainstream stuff (and if he can avoid being called a Keith Urban clone -- or would that help him?), he might break through. But I'm hoping he can chart with this one and people will be surprised into requesting this strong song.

I hope he gets to do a second album. This one doesn't really represent Jedd's real abilities, or what his music really sounds like.

The Keith Urban fans have already gotten hold of him. Some are rather mean about it while others actually got tired of Keith and moved on to Jedd.
As for the song, I look at it like this: 1.It could do awful considering how slow it is and a lot of people dont like that. There are some awesome slow songs on his album so I dont know why that one was chosen. 2.Americans just LOVE anything involving the word "soldier".
The story of the song really has nothing to do with a relationship but from just moving to America and not being near his family/friends from back home. Of course, Its already on the charts in Australia:(

I like the song a lot, but aren't crazy about Jedd's voice. I'd like to hear this with a better singer.

The song has spent 2 non-consecutive weeks at #60, holding up the bottom of the Billboard chart. I think it might spend a few more weeks charting, but it will take a miracle for this to catch on. No drums. Not conventional. Patty Loveless' vocals are outstanding, but why would that help?

Now it's had 3 nonconsecutive weeks at #60 on Billboard. Once it climbs as high as 59, nothing will stop it.
