I just don't see 400K+. Applause did great at radio but it took a LOT to even get it to 1.5 million. I feel like she is just alittle too "out there" for this era.

I think that 375k is based on pre-orders and what have been sold into shops so it should be quite accurate. I too hope that she can reach 400k but then again, she'll have video premiere, AMAs and such in promo schedule + holiday shopping season obviously.

I doubt it, look at the label that is releasing this "Look In The Mirror" album. Adele's label is XL Recordings/Columbia.

^Yeah, when you sell 26 million copies of an album, you want as many copies sold for the follow-up.

If Artpop fails to sell over 2 million in the long run, it's not because of the quality of the album.
WOW I'M CRYING IT'S EVEN BETTER THAN I COULD'VE DREAMED OF

After Eminem, Can Albums From One Direction, Lady Gaga or Britney Spears Rack Up Monster Debuts?
By Keith Caulfield, L.A. | November 10, 2013 2:58 AM EST
With Eminem's new album on course for a blockbuster first week, are there any other albums left this year than can also rack up huge, half-million-plus debuts?
Yes. But that list is very short. As in: There's just one album on it: One Direction's "Midnight Memories."
As previously reported, Eminem's "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" is set to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 next week with around 750,000 sold (through the tracking week ending Nov. 10). It will tally the second-biggest sales week of the year, after the debut of Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience," which bowed with 968,000 in March, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
According to forecasts from label sources, One Direction's "Midnight Memories," due out Nov. 25, could debut with a little over 500,000.
It's the third album from the British vocal group, and follows their last release, "Take Me Home." That set bowed with 540,000 in its first week back in November of 2012.
There are, of course, other albums due out this year that will earn significant debuts. But none -- at least at this point -- are expected to come close to the bows of Eminem and One Direction.
(You may wonder: How can industry sources forecast first-week sales for an album before it has come out? Sales projections are based on a number of indicators. They include orders from physical retailers, pre-orders on digital services like iTunes, first-week performance of comparable albums, media exposure, radio and YouTube trends for the album's singles, and so on.)
Lady Gaga's "ARTPOP" album, out on Monday, Nov. 11, may sell around 300,000 to 350,000 if early industry forecasts hold. Her last album, 2011's "Born This Way," debuted with 1.1 million sold. (However, it benefited from an Amazon MP3 offer that sold it for 99 cents on two days of its debut week. Billboard estimates that the 99 cent version resulted in 440,000 copies of the album's first-week haul.)
Also on the horizon is Britney Spears' "Britney Jean," which is scheduled for release on Dec. 3. While it's a bit early to predict what Spears will sell, industry prognosticators indicate it could start slower than her last album. Her previous release, 2011's "Femme Fatale," launched with 276,000 at No. 1.

Gaga's first day sales will be so strong that it's going to be hard for them to predict full week sales accurately.

I doubt it, look at the label that is releasing this "Look In The Mirror" album. Adele's label is XL Recordings/Columbia. It is being reported that this is some sort of covers or remix release which has zero involvement from Adele. When you go to the website of the record label this 'album' is coming out on, it shows that Tabitha's Secret is the only artist they have signed. The sad thing is that when you go on Amazon to look up Adele, this 'album' is the first thing that comes up.

I'm guessing that Britney will do 200-225k. That said, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if she topped out below 200k; interest in her seems to be at an all-time low right now.
300-350k for Gaga sounds about right.
500k seems a bit high for 1D, considering their last album "only" debuted with 540k and they had more hype then. I'm expecting something more like 400-450k.

Gaga could trend upwards closer to 400k but 350k is decent I guess. And the next couple of weeks with promo and DWUW growing on radio + video are crucial.

Doubt it.
It's been removed now.
It's just a way to increase his RIAA total.
4cds x 1 million shipped = 4xp.

I am hoping we do get some sort of update tonight, but it will probably be a pretty boring one (Like, Gaga should beat out Eminem for #1) and nothing else. Tomorrow should be interesting though.

THE DIRECTION IS NORTH: Pre-orders for Midnight Memories by SYCO/Columbia’s One Direction, which streets 11/25, are approaching 200k all in—shattering the digital record set earlier this year by part one of Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience. Midnight looks set to surpass 500k in its first week, and is on track to best 1D’s 2012 debut for Take Me Home, which bowed with 540k and has sold 1.8m RTD. (11/20p)

Ridiculous but I know my 13 year old niece for one is a huge One Direction fan. I'll expect big sales for them at Christmas time.

Here are some calculations I did to help me predict an opening week for 1D:
TMH's pre-orders amounted to 136k. It opened with 538k in the end. By doing so, 1D sold 3.95 times as many copies in its first week as were made with pre-orders.
MM's pre-orders are around 200k. If you multiply 200k by 3.95, you get approximately 790k copies in its first week. Not only will that best Drake, but it will be just below Eminem's debut last week.
Now, let's see how Black Friday factors into 1D's first week sales. Let's take a look at Rihanna, who scored her biggest first week sales (and first #1 album) with the help of Black Friday. Rihanna's 2011 album, "Talk That Talk" came out with 198k copies in its debut week. "Unapologetic" opened with 238k. That's about a 20% increase from her previous album.
If Black Friday increases album sales by about 20%, then 1D's 790k will become a whopping 950k opening week, right behind where JT landed earlier this year. Add in Hannukah sales, and 1D have the potential to open with a 1 million debut week.
