radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/84485/clear-channel-sells-siriusxm-stake-stations-to-leave-service/In its quarterly earnings release Clear Channel announced that it had sold its ownership stake in SiriusXM for $135.5 Million. With the sale all but two of the Clear Channel programmed stations will depart the XM service on Wednesday, August 28. Departing are rebroadcasts of WLTW New York, WSIX Nashville, and WGCI Chicago as well as CC programmed Sixx Sense, Extreme Talk (home of Todd Schnitt, Artie Lange and WTKS Orlando programming), Talk Radio (carries Quinn & Rose, Rick & Bubba, Alex Jones), ReachMD, Talk Radio (Glenn Beck, Dave Ramsey, Randi Rhodes, Coast To Coast AM), and Fox Sports Radio. Remaining on XM will be rebroadcasts of Z100 New York and KIIS-FM Los Angeles. Clear Channel purchased its stake in XM for $83.1 Million prior to its launch. It has always held rights to program a block of channels on the service which has varied over time from straight terrestrial simulcasts to channels exclusively programmed for the satellite service.

So this means no more Pop2K, Big 80's, Ozzy's Boneyard, etc.? And just KIIS and Z100? :/
If so that is terrible, this sounds worse than when Sirius and XM merged in 2008. I don't understand why they couldn't have just kept things the way they were before. Before 2008, XM was FLAW FREE.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would Pop2K go away? I've never heard that it's owned by Clear Channel.

Oh I was just using that as an example of a Sirius-XM station. I have no idea what CC owns and doesn't own.

Oh. I think it's just the stations in the article.

Correct. WLTW, WSIX, WGCI, Sixx Sense, and a handful of Talk stations are leaving. Z100 and KIIS stay, as do all of the other Sirius/XM music stations.
