She'll probably hit #1 the week of the video released when she's top 5 on airplay. I see a chart run similar to California Gurls. 6 weeks at #1 for "Roar"? Well that almost closes the year, we had few #1s in 2013 so far: Locked Out Of Heaven (hit #1 in 2012) Thrift Shop Harlem Shake When I Was Your Man Just Give Me A Reason Can't Hold Us Blurred Lines Roar ??? and probably 2 or 3 more #1s.. Damn it's like we're in 2002-2005 era all over again, only 6 new #1s so far  I guess streaming is slowing down things a bit. I think 2002 hold the record for less #1 hits in the Hot 100 era. |

wow at Treasure becoming basically a smash on radio (top 5 overall airplay and top 5 on pop)! Plus a Top 5 on BB even most importantly. Really did not look good about a month or two ago (there was a period when it was struggling to even go top 10 ).
As for Blurred Lines, def. DON't count it out lol. Its had weak updates before (not this bad) but weak updates- only to come back strong the next day. Even if it finally peaked, the drops prob. won't plummet, as it's just (still) so massive. Its also gaining again on iTunes so don't think it's close to being toast yet. That, mixed in w/ Katys expected drops over the next few days. Very impressive start but she's going to have to maintain very good consistent gains in airplay and sales to get to #1 anytime soon- due to the 200+ million difference in airplay. I think even when BL was getting the massive updates a month ago, Katy had an equal, if not better chance to hit #1 the following week as she still would've sold 500k+ but Robins airplay #s weren't as high and he was still selling around what he'll sell this week 300kish

If anything is having bizarre updates, it's Calvin Harris. I thought the song had peaked several times and then after a few days of decline, it went back up... And it's just happened again! I can never tell which direction the song is going!

lol That's the thing- I personally dont think people (or radio) are close to letting BL go lol. Its still gaining on AC so I dunno how it could possibly start to just to 'drop like a rock' esp. 5 million a day lol. Not saying it wont start to drop, but '5 million a day'? lol. Anything I guess is possible but I think there's a few different scenarios that can happen here but feel if it's peaked and starts to drop it wont be significant- at least yet. Also, his new song I don't think is doing much on radio and I think it's been released but the 'official' release date may not be for a little while (but that means very little nowadays). I would think (esp. at the VMAs) he's still gonna seriously push BL as he and his team have to know they have a 'shot' for most weeks at #1. Not gonna be easy as he still needs a month and a week but they have to know they at least have more of a shot than anyone has had since 1996 lol.

BL had a slow day on HAC and UAC. I definitely wouldn't count it out yet, especially while it's still making huge AC gains.

and AC could be what offsets the losses on other formats (where it may not be done yet) Way too soon to tell. If its constantly getting negative updates by mid-late week, odds are it's done on everything but AC. I believe BLs weakest updates throughout its run have been over the weekend for some reason.
