I didn't see a thread on the song, so I created one to let you know about these Hot AC chart feats:
Just looking at the latest update, "Roar" will have one of the highest debuts in Hot AC history. Right now she is at #16. The highest debut on the 40 position Hot AC chart was just last year when "Payphone" entered at #15. Looking at the entire history of the HAC chart, the highest debut on record is #13, when Jon Secada's "If You Go" entered there in 1994.
Also, Katy looks to beat the one week bullet record. Her bullet is over 1900 spins. The current record is 1242 spins.
I'll post the official update tomorrow after the chart is finalized.

Final numbers didn't change. Katy earns the 3rd highest debut in HAC history at #16, and sets the record of biggest bullet with 1969 spins.

Hot AC is a lot more of a different animal now, it is much, MUCH, more CHR\POP than it used to be, the reason it has such a high spin total record is simply because of how many stations are on the format these days.

True, HAC is not what it used to be, but I don't think the station count has changed much recently. (As of March there were 91 reporting stations to the published panel). Still, the previous one week bullet record was set just last year, and I don't think the panel changed that much. The new record is over 700 spins more than last year's record. That's a huge increase.

This song ascends to the top spot this week, tying two records:
- Fastest climb to #1. "Roar" reaches #1 in its 6th week. This ties the record for fastest climb to #1, and it is the fastest in 15 years. The other 2 songs to reach #1 in just 6 weeks: "I'll Be There for You" by the Rembrandts in 1995 and "Thank U" by Alanis Morissette in 1998.
- Most #1s on the HAC chart: Katy now has had 8 #1s on the HAC chart. She ties Maroon 5 for most #1s in the 19+ year history of the HAC chart. While it took 9 years for Maroon 5 to rack up their #1s, it has only taken Katy 5 years.

As it spends a second week atop Pop Songs, Katy Perry's "Roar" rises 2-1 in its seventh week on Adult Pop Songs. The coronation grants Perry two historic milestones: "Roar" marks Perry's eighth Adult Pop Songs No. 1, tying her with Maroon 5 and P!nk for the most leaders in the chart's 17-year archives. Plus, its seven-week ascent marks the fastest to the chart's summit since the survey first appeared in Billboard magazine the week of March 16, 1996. Four songs in that span had previously reached No. 1 in as few as eight weeks, most recently Perry's "California Gurls" in 2010. www.billboard.com/articles/news/5719511/chart-highlights-britney-spears-bows-katy-perry-lady-gaga-leap-to-no-1

For the 9/29 chart "Roar" set a new spin record for Hot AC (5764), and this week it will set another record (>5800).

Roar is now #1 on the AC rolling update. If she can hold off Lorde on Pop, Roar will become only the 5th song in nearly 20 years to simultaneously top Pop, AC and the Hot AC charts.
